  1. Remember ?350 was the offer not what he was actually on!!!.
  2. Think about this, if Vigurs was offered ?350 that would have effectively doubled his wage, that means up to being released today he was on around ?175 a week. Its not surprising he rejected the offer. He was probably one of the lowest paid players to have played in the SPL last season. By the way I believe there are ICT players on less than ?175pw. When you think what players like McGuire,Rooney and Barrowman are reportedly being paid its not a surprise to me if he has become hacked of with ICT, you can't blame him. I am sure Vigurs will take his chance and find better paid employment elsewhere, he has the talent and the skill and will be appreciated by other clubs, its our loss and I wish him well.
  3. Mods not long out of the pub me thinks. Sair heeds this morning is it?. You have a fair amount of work to catch up on today, threads all over the place!!!.
  4. Have to agree, yesterday was, yet again, a bit of punt fest. Foran and Morais tried in vain to win high balls but the likes of Scobbie and Aafjes generally won. This tactic has been done to death this season and has not worked. When we did threaten the ball was on the ground. It does appear that Butcher favours this type of long ball tactic and picks players accordingly hence punt meister Djebi-Zadi and thats possibly why he has stuck with Munro to supply the ammunition. Midfield will need a revamp if we are to get the type of good passing play that Pele gave us. We lost Cowie in January and Black is also away, of those signed in January I can't see many of them staying on so I would like to see the youngsters given a chance, the likes of Vigurs, Gillespie and Morrison are capable of playing football on the ground where the ball should be put them along side the experience of Duncan,McBain and Imrie. A confident midfield supplying ball to the feet of Rooney and Barrowman is whats needed, dump the punt.
  5. I have my doubts about Butcher, he has a poor managerial record. Since the split ICT have been inconsistent with points dropped and chances to put our league survival to bed missed. In Brewsters favour the team looked far fitter and 90 minutes was not a problem. Brew used modern day cross training techniques and the monitoring of players as favored by many of the top clubs including Man U but his training methods were seen as overzealous and disliked by some players, he certainly had a poor run of results and his departure looked inevitable. Since Butcher took over the training regime has been reduced drastically, some would say he has a very old school approach to training and it shows, there were players today who ran of steam with twenty minutes to go. He openly admitted in an interview last week that he had to bring a training session to halt due the players kicking lumps out of each other and were risking injuring one another, all they seem to do is play practice games during training. Of the seven players who came in in January none of them seem particularly fit for purpose, I would single out Kerr as an example of a poorly prepared player, he came in during the January transfer window and four months later he is still not fit!, even from being totally unfit he should have been able to gain enough base fitness to last a game within eight weeks but he is still miles away from that, so I would say the training regime just isn't up to it, the modern game requires well conditioned athletes with the endurance to last the course. I have no doubt that Butcher is a motivator but he failed to handle the players fitness and conditioning and it has cost us dearly. Some of his decision making was also pretty questionable, he decided that for survival purposes he would have to go with experience so the likes of Foran, Kerr and Morais where given starting slots in favour of the likes of Vigurs, Rooney and Barrowman he then sticks in the likes of an untried youngster in Odhiambo up front and gives the "experienced" Djebi-Zadi a game in place of Hastings, very bizarre. Mihadjuks played several games at centre back pre split and did well to tighten up the defence then he disappeared only to reappear today at right back. So in summary, I don't believe that our eventual downfall was entirely the work of Brewster, Butchers managerial style is far from the finished article and has to be questioned.
  6. Good crowd allround today, even a few bods in the "Alan Savage unenclosure"!!!.
  7. I can't see many of the Christmas signings staying on, if any do I hope its Mihadjuks.
  8. Next year will see the start of a rebuild process and the youngsters should have the chance to to prove their worth. Duff- has another year on his contract. Gillespie- (who you missed altogether) also has another year and this guy needs to be given a chance. Vigurs - pretty sure he is out of contract and the end but one I would like see stay. Also, we need a fitness coach, to many of the Christmas signings still not fit enough.
  9. Renegade now its time for this thread to get going, let the clear out begin.
  10. Let the clear out begin!!!!. Total team rebuild required starting with a solid defence.
  11. No one yet, that will have to wait until two weeks tomorrow.
  12. Came across this on the BeeB BBC Sport This old chestnut has resurfaced, usual comments apply!!!!.
  13. In answer to your question, no he's not. Its been a lean season for him but thats not a great surprise, "da bomb" long\high ball tactics we have employed this season have not suited his style. He needs it at his feet around the six yard box this also goes for Rooney. We simply don't have the wide men attacking the goal line and providing the crosses and cut backs these guys need to score. With the punted dross provided by the likes of LDZ its never going to happen for them.
  14. Predictable utter bollox. Well I suppose it takes a real man to tell somebody that he was rite all along. Predictable yes and Utter Bollocks - yes. Were ya refering to Zebidee ? IHE I totally agree, this was always on the cards, its no surprise. Mark my word - he could come back and haunt us.
  15. A sneaky wee point would be nice from tonights game. Go the lads.
  16. Seriously good turnout by the Killie fans. Well done. Chapeau.
  17. Steady on guys, LDZ may have caught the eye of TB last Saturday but he still displayed some very basic play, lets not push our luck.
  18. Johno Smith is now in his early 20's and left the club a while ago. If only he was a little taller he would have made it I'm sure. A great keeper though. Not sure what he is up to these days.
  19. Fitness and conditioning is his forte, under him ICT had no problem lasting 90 minutes, so this has to be his immediate future while he works on his motivational skills.
  20. Out of the new faces brought it will interesting to see how many of them stay in the long term. They are on short contracts and have to prove themselves as useful additions. Then there is the life style thing, can they hack it up here in the wooly North?. Hopefully, out of the seven a couple can cut it and stay on. After all the reason most of them were available is because no one else wanted them in the first place!!!.
  21. I had my doubts about today game especially when I saw the line up but I have to say well done ICT you put in a great shift today, gave as good as you got and picked up well deserved and very valuable bonus point. Mihadjuks certainly looked the part in defence and I'd like to see a fully fit Foran, Imrie worked his socks off to. Lets hope this improvement can be built upon and we go on a points gathering spree.
  22. A surprise starter, thankfully had one of his better games today, a little basic at times but made it hard for the Celtic wingers. Extended stay will depend on whether Gathuesi shapes up or not.
