  1. lots of " if my auntie had balls she would be my uncle" in here i am afraid and And I don't for the life of me understand why Butcher plays Sutherland the way he does. I think he could play the Rooney role well. He's often got a good first touch, he can hold the ball up and he can turn and shoot well. is this sutherland a new signing outside the transfer window. the one i watch on a saturday has a terrible touch, never has the ball completely under control, running with ball it always is behind him and he has to try and dig it out from under his feet. looses possesion most of the time. and............. shooting dont make me laugh, one shot against celtic does not make up for the times he blasts over the bar or misses target by yards. every times he makes a mistake he then jumps of the ground and thumps his fists into his thighs instead of chasing back to try and retrieve possesion. whats that all about. only seems to get a game when we are short of recognised players sorry to "pounce" nothing personal
  2. the last 2-3 games i have seen wolves play on match of the day davies was playing. foot of premiership not league one wolves squad from bbc Wolverhampton Wanderers Squad Midfielders 4 Edwards 7 Kightly 8 Henry 12 Hunt 15 Frimpong 17 Jarvis 20 Milijas 22 Jonsson 24 O'Hara 26 Davis 37 Forde 41 Price 46 Gorman 48 McGroary Jones
  3. agree. i said to my wife on the way home from the game. " i dont think we will renew our 4 season tickets next year. we will just go to the ross county games home and away and pay at gate."
  4. next home game watch gillet closely. see how many touches he takes to get the ball under control. see how many times he passes to the opposition, see how many hoofs go straight up in the air, see how many times he is closed down and has to hoof the ball because of his lack of ability, see how many times he will not kick with his right foot trying to clear his lines by arching his body to kick with left. forgot to mention our first throwin today. gillet took it and the referee blew for a foul throw. professional player who cant take a throwin. the ones after that were not much better. there is more to being a footballer than running fast. zebi dadi proved that
  5. I agree with much of this. Gillet did have a bad day today. But over the season he has been one of Terry's better imports, even winning Player of the Month a couple of times. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt as it was his first game back after injury. Generally I prefer him at left back to Shinnie. I agree re Foran, McKay, Tansey, Tade. But why did you stop there? Meekings?, Williams? Gnapka? And probably one or two others! Terry made it evident at the start of the season, by his clear out of most of the ICT old guard, that he wanted his 'own team'. Well he has got it and it is clearly much poorer than the old one. So the buck must stop with Terry. sorry i did not go further. just went for what i saw on show on wednesday and today. getting too old to remember more than two games. to be truthful i have praised some of them this year on other occassions
  6. could not belive butchers line up. 2 left backs gillet and shinnie down left hand side. hibs were the worst side i have seen this season, we were the second worst. if butcher stays on after this season and we manage to stay up he has an even bigger rebuilding than last year. gillet. out this guy is not a footballer. he is quick but has sh1t ball control, needs 2-3 touches to get ball under control. other teams sus this out and close him down quickly which then results in him hoofing ball from what should be decent possesion.passing is woeful. today all he has to do is hoof ball away. not for the first time this season he slices ball straight into air and then has to play ball out for corner. hibs then get corner 2 and score off corner 3. later in the same position has to hoof ball away with right foot this time. i could not believe how bad his ability is as he manages to kick the ball over his own head instead for a hibs throw in. foran out had had his day. tansey out mackay out billy no goals one on one first half could not for the first time take the chance. cannot hold ball, not strong enough, poor first touch tade out out out no ball control, looses posession too easily.headless chicken hibs were crap today, going nowhere. tade has a 1 on 1 to make it 2-0 and kill the game. not for the first time could not take the chance. lost posession on left wing all too easily which resulted in ball to griffiths for hibs third goal. there must be better players out there somewhere, but can we get them to come to inverness. i have rarely had an enjoyable experience at home this season. the main reason you go to watch a game is to see your team win, certainly provide more entertainment than what has been on show this year. if we stay up this year i think next year will be just as bad. muirfield mills need to get their hand into their pockets again. 250k is not enough i think i will not pay for 4 season tickets next year to watch what i have seen this season. will not even mention g-m-s man of the match forget this nonsense. we have been so bad this season it must be really hard to select the best of the crap on show. i can only summise that as today was april 1st they gave the award to the biggest fool in the team.
  7. Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Terry Butcher : "We play Hibs in our next game and Pat Fenlon won't know my team because I don't know what my team will be. "We don't have a big squad, but some of the guys who have been in cold storage will be coming out the fridge. dont know what he means so had a look in my fridge for some clues. billy the fish rogan josh meekings tokely golabart shinnie haddock otj foran cod smoked taddie ice cube ? hope the slippery wingers do the job or tuffey meekings golafart tokely shinnie doran otj foran hayes tade (cant be as bad as wednesday again !) mackay (must score sometime)
  8. I sit behind the goals and the stj player just dropped like a stone IMO. You start to doubt yourself when a lot of folk in the main stand thought it was a stonewaller. However on seeing the highlights I havent changed my original opinion at all that it was harsh. Yeah I thought it was harsh too (as did plenty others around me) and said so on here, but was told that it was a stonewaller, glad I'm not needing another trip to the opticians! watch the sj game again on bbc.co.uk. then click the icon to the left and watch spl classics, inverness first hat-trick in the spl from the "inverness assasin" in a 4-2 win against hibs. hayes was magic that night minus his stupid back pass for hibs first goal and we had someone who actually knew where the goal was
  9. And he had a terrible injury record. So bad that when he played one non-competitive game (which he wasn't even able to finish), he was then out for months. Depsite this, ICT still offered him a pay-as-you-play contract. GMS was so hesitant about his ability to play any significant amount of games, that he turned us down. He had no interest, we must assume, for any team in the SPL and SFL1 to end up at Airdrie. If we had signed him, he would probably have been in the treatment room and recupuration for most of the season. He'd then be coming back towards the end of a one-year contract with possibly some fine performances. I then suspect he'd reward that faith in him with a 'next season down in england or even at the old firm'. ICT saw the talent. Saw the injury record (that was ongoing) but were still prepared to offer him a chance at SPL football by a play/pay contract to prove his fitness. It was absolutely the correct decision. maybe so but we still lost the most exciting player to emerge in scotland for some time. superb winger with pace to burn, has a trick to pass players - just ask dave mackay at sj, who also delivers excellent crosses. listning to radio on saturdays no one talks about his injuries just the boy is pure class. if we had taken a chance on him we probably would not have kept him past the winter transfer window anyway. wait and see what he goes for when the bigger clubs start calling du but six months of watching him on the wing or the crap i have watched this seaon. hmmmm let me think about that for a second
  10. i was shouting the same as tel. Piermayr was a joke last night. his passing was shocking. it seemed every time he got the ball he passed it out of the park. will take it easy on him though as he is definately behind meekings, tokley, anybody really for the right back slot. hope if we stay up that next year tel forgets about talking up the players. several people who dont go to football have asked me this year why does butcher talk about top six in the papers all the time when the team is bottom of the league. is bottom 3 our best position this year. dont think top six was ever on . take a leaf out of county's book. even when they were 17 points ahead adams is very cautious in the press with the usual take one game at a time and see where we end up. looks like he ordered the players to say the same things as you will not see them talking winning league until it happens. our players/ management this year talked top six top six top six etc etc from what i have watched every week excluding the 1-0 win at home to hearts we would struggle to make the top six of the bottom six if you catch my drift. we are a basement club, getting basement players. sj were like us last season leaking goals and no threat up front. they brought in sandaza, sheridan, croft, and wright, mccracken, mackay at back. afraid we will only ever get players that no one else wants. i remember when butcher was talking about signing tade. i thought why is he alerting other clubs about to the fact we are signing this great player. truth is no on else was stupid enough to take him. same as tansey, motherwell had a look at him but decided was not good enough. sorry to go on about this but tel had scotlands best young player in his grasp- mackay steven but decided not to take the chance. the boy was desperate to stay at ict he is now too good for united. watch him go next season down in england or even at the old firm.
  11. just back from game. we huffed and puffed but nothing to give in final third. sj look a league above us. comfortable on the ball and have two decent strikers in sandaza and sheridan. we had two decent chances in first half. tade in line with left hand post 15 yards out gets ball. keeper out of position and a player on the line. a decent player would shoot to the larger portion of the goal to the right. not haddie he shoots the way he is facing and screws ball 15 yards left of the left hand post. not a fan of tade but this was probably the worst i have seen him. needs 3 touches to control ball and when under control a simple layoff would do, but no he constantly turned into sj players loosing the ball most of the time. mackay had a great run and turn inside macraken onto his right foot. same as tade had larger portion of goal to right but hit it straight to their keeper at left hand post. as said on radio on way home both shooting to the narrow side when an expeienced player would have passed the ball in to the far side of the net apart from that we never looked like scoring the rest of the night. gnakpa shot at the death hit corner of post and bar was always too high. saying that though dont think tuffey had a save to make until the last couple of minutes when they had a breakaway. tokley was superb in defence tonight. pierymar could not pass the ball to save himself. shane had a couple of runs but the end product was the same, passed the ball to the opposition. mackay was too lightweight for sj centre backs macraken and wright. cant hold the ball.but then who can when balls are played to your head as said earlier tade was--- well poor. tel calls it correctly when he describes our players as full of running, heart blah blah blah. that is usual football speak for not skillfull enough i have been an admirer of jones but tonight looked tired and was getting caught in possion a lot as the sj players were snapping at our heels in midfield. more games and hopefully he will play better.
  12. one cheek unsqueaked. ps your getting your bishes, boshes and bashes mixed up. remember harry enfield as the plasterer with his wad after a job "loads of money, BISHBASHBOSH"
  13. one cheek un squeaked
  14. with jim jefferies taking the dunfermline job and the lift that can sometimes give a team, should we be getting worried. dunfermline play st mirren next i believe and they like us are firing blanks and have a scottish cup replay midweek against hearts, they could be jefferies first 3 points. we dont look like scoring, winning games at present, highlighted by the fact we have only scored 5 league goals in 2012. where is our next win coming from ??. with county on the way up it would be a disater if we headed the other way. as usual my cup is half empty but what i have been watching at home ,(minus the excellent performance against hearts---why dont we play like that more often) , and the 2 games at east end park, does not fill me with confidence for the rest of season
  15. is that the same gnakpa that tel has been tracking for years and is really pleased he has finally got him????????? have not been impressed with this guy since he arrived. what a waste of a wage just watched first half on chookee telly. tade played 1-2 and in on goal 4-5 yards out. crying out to be hit with left foot across the keeper. hit it with his right and it goes the way he is facing 5 yards left of goal. what a plonker. think i will delete the recording and watch dale winton "in it to win it". now if i could just find a wall that has just been painted i could watch that dry instead
  16. we could not afford to ditch tel and mo. agree with tmfj re this seasons entertainment though. although injuries are probably the main reason i have always said we are the worst footballing team in the spl. cant keep ball for more than a couple of touches. at our best when we hit on the break and only 2-3 players involved can only think of the hearts game at home a couple of months ago where i was getting excited about our play. i would like to see our so called spl players kick wih both feet. dont know how many times this season i have seen gillet arch his body to hoof ball away with left foot when facing our goal( usually straight up in the air in our box) when a lash with the right foot was required. or seeing shane sutherland hoof another ball high and wide of the target, running with the ball but never in control of it, always behind himself or tade run until he looses ball etc etc etc. i am the proud owner of 4 season tickets. the wife sits and texts her mates now, grandaughter has stopped coming-- too boring and my wee man, 5 year old grandson who used to rush into my house on a saturday kitted out for the footie shouting " come on grandad lets go to the football" sits down and asks me to play the man utd games that i record every saturday night for him. me i just moan. sorry for the people who sit around me looks like 4 spares seats available next year. ps i would like to see an old fav get a scouts job------ one thing about steve patterson he knew a player when he saw one ( apart from de baros, mcginely, etc etc)
  17. can we finally put top 6 rubbish to bed now. speaking to my father in law today, he gets the p&j daily and courier twice a week. he has never been to a football match but follows ict scores. he says "why do the players, the manager always talk about this top six. every day in the p&j there is someone on about it. they are 3 rd bottom, should they not be more worried about dropping down a league" he also says...................... why dont they do their talking on the pitch?????????????? a question to be answered, but then i know the answer already
  18. proc up against mackay-steven. he would have to watch the video of "that" trick he performed against sjohnstone. seen it a hundred times and still dont know what he did. we could all chip in and buy proctor 50 match tickets. he would need tham all to get back into tannadice
  19. how many defenders do we have. after last weeks hopeless show we need to be very defensive against probably the spl's quickest counter attacking teams. we cant score, we cant defend. go for a craig levein formation Esson and tuffey Piermayr, Tokely, Williams, G. Shinnie tudor-jones foran proctor, tansey , gillett bench any other defenders we have
  20. we must be the laughing stock of the spl. sick of hearing the manager and players talk about the top six. wake up and smell the coffee guys. top six, not a hope in hell. an in form du and the best two players in scotland at the moment russell and mackay steven. still have nightmares the night russell came on when were were cruising 2-0 i think. would love this to come back and haunt me, but beating du on monday is not on. we cant score we cant defend how are we going to catch the teams above us on this kind of form. now maybe if they all went into administration we would have a small chance!!!
  21. Stop protecting Tansey, he has been useless practically all season. Came here with a reputation for banging home spectacular free kicks and long range efforts, and well, I'm still waiting. 99% of his free kicks have been atrocious. His corners more often hit the first defender, ( not alone there) and very little exciting happens when he is on the ball. He has had maybe two games where he was better than average and other than that, not worth staying here for another season. agree with mr jobby re tansey free kicks. i think he hit the post with one v motherwell first game of season and thought he was true to his reputation. i have gone from "go on tansey" to " ffs let someone else have a go". maybe we could use the bobby samora song that the spurs fans sang to the tune "thats amore'" IF THE BALL HITS YOUR HEAD AND YOU SIT IN ROW Z ITS SAMORA IF THE BALL HITS YOUR HEAD AND YOU SIT IN ROW Z IT'SA TANSEY may pass this onto chick young i believe he is looking for a song for us
  22. came away from game thinking-------------------- could have hooked any 3 from back 4 meekings too slow and needs more than one touch to get ball under control shinnie very poor. gets ball, does not drive forward, usually waits for player to come onto him before punting ball away to other team gillett has the touch of an elephant enough said thats just the back 4 take too long to go through the rest of the team the 4 rangers goals were so easy. men against boys when we got the ball we were so slow in our build up it allowed rangers 2 banks of four to reset making it very difficult to break them down............. wishful thinking on my part then it was high balls to ross and mackay againt probably the biggest centre back in scotland after watching the subsitution of tudor-jones changing the game in our favour last week at dunfermline thought he was a certain starter this week. someone who can control the ball with first touch and then find a team mate with a pass. would have allowed foran to play up front instead of haddie (when i called him that my 4 year old grandson said " dont you mean baddie" told him baddie and haddie are same thing) tade today same as usual runs about like a headless chicken, he had two good situations early on in the game only to loose the ball both times. there is absolutely no end product from this guy. yes he will score the odd goal but surely there is more to a footballer than that. we never looked like scoring from open play today poor poor poor from now on we should take throwins from wrong place, take from 3 yards inside pitch anything to make ref give it to the other team. we must be the worst team in history both right and left side to take a throwin. why not try just throwing it as far as we can down the line, it cant be any worse can it ?? then when i got home------------------- we were playing against quality players today and we are a team of rejects from lower league english clubs. injuries have not allowed us a settled side, back 4 especially the people on this forum who discuss top six need to get a grip. "if we can get so many points from next games we can push out dundee utd" and get to the promised land. what a crock of sh1t. du are the form team in scotland just now and they have scotlands best player ( could have been ours if tel took a chance on him) as i have said before mackay-steven is jonny hayes with skill who can deliver a ball tel is always talking top six. i know he is trying to talk up the players, but surely even he does not believe this team with such a poor defensive record and no goal scorer could ever make it. we need to be looking below not up. starting to wonder now if 8 point gap to the bottom is enough time will tell
  23. honestly gnapka and sutherland were pathetic. tudor jones changed the game in our favour when he came on. held the ball well and sprayed passes to bring others into game. his arrival allowed foran to go up front with mackay. until he came on we were rubbish second half. even the fans who kept the chanting going for all the first half started to turn on the players we were so bad. he changed a certain loss into a what will turn out to be an excellent point
  24. just back from game staying across road from ground. tel you made a balls up today, with you team selection. lots of possesion in first half but i never seen such an inept front line in all my days of watching caley thistle. they score on half time after hardie hit bar from free kick, looked like meekings playing dunfermline player on side after ball came off bar. he would have been 4 yards offside if meekings wasnt 6 yards behind everyone else. gnapka and sutherland were a waste of space, neither could control ball loosing possesion every time they got it. proctor was a disaster. hayes could not do anything right. shinnie was waiting too long on ball before eventually loosing it,getting his passes blocked. early second half dunfermline running down clock everything from throws to goal kicks taking ages. we were pathetic enter tudor jones off goes gnapka, foran up front . off goes sutherland on comes mackay. all of a sudden we are on the ascendancy again. jones is pure class. tansey very effective, nick ross was good also once we scored never really looked like getting a second. in fact dunfermline could have nicked it late second half with free header at back post over the bar. looked easier to score. why did we not start with the second half team?????????????????????? proctor was very poor, but must be difficult being 4th or 5th choice. two thing we must do next year , get 2 central defenders and a striker that can hold the ball
  25. brother in laws for me. stays across the road. drink his booze and wander over at 14:50 to be seated for kick off. used the stadium bar after the game last time. crap pool players stayed on table all night before finding our way home
