  1. i have watched the u20's against sj and this week dundee. terry's dilema, none of the players on show are ready for the first team. oswell struggled against young centre backs, won a couple of headers, looks slow, poor touch. against experienced men oh dear. pepper didn't get past the dundee left back for the time i was there. all of first half and half of second. problem is our bench this week and more due to injury/suspension will be full of these young boys. scary times ahead i'm afraid. i go with whatever tel puts out.
  2. according to pat bonner and stephen craigan on sportscence the tackle on fraser " was dangerous to the player" and was a red card. the foran tackle was from the side and mistimed and warranted a yellow. thought on saturday a definate red, havent changed my mind after seeing it on tv
  3. sitting in the north stand at 14:45 i had a look at the main stand and thought " not many people there today", never mind it will fill up a bit when the hospitality people wander out at 15:00ish. looked over at 15:30 and looked like the same amount of people were sitting there. loss of revenue for club and loss of saturday catering jobs on the cards.? football too expensive in the current climate for ordinary supporters as well as companies it looks like.
  4. yes lets MOOOOve on
  5. thought we had the correct setup to start with. foran was winning possesion, holding ball up better that anyone this year but then his distribution was very poor. second half thought jones tackle would be red even from the north stand, it is very easy for referees to send off our players, wonder if a cellic player would have walked for the same tackle. sutherland did well at penalty. he is not a fav off mine bit of a donkey. maybe this is his true spot -- an impact player with 15-20 mins remaining. doran has not stepped up to the plate after hayes left. he always comes sideways or turns back. does not have the confidence to take people on and go past them. was like a rabbit in headlights at the 4 on 2 situation. should have put his foot through the ball but took a touch, a very bad touch, then went down very easy when the chance was lost. watched the u 20 last week against sj. blackman was left wing in first half but i went home before 2nd. very pleased with him today, very quick and deserved his mom. how refreshing it was to see a ict left back being able to take a throw in. no standing for five minutes, he was throwing down the line usually to foran to flick on. shinnie take note although i dont think he will take one for a while , at least until after xmas as balckman is on a 6 month loan deal i think, but would be pleased if i was wrong. the aberdeen leveller was a shambles, dont even think schoolboys would have done what we did. think shinnie turned his back and ball passed past him to be crossed for goal. hayes was a surprise today, totally inneffective, the other winger fraser was a far better player and caused us problems all day. sad to see a player like this kicked to bits.
  6. pepper is just a young boy. scored the goal on saturday, but if he was a foot further back the ball would have gone over the bar. he contrived to put a simple tapin into the roof of the net, just missing the bar. does not deserve a start so it's bench for him and only because of the size/ quality of our squad. one for the future certainly, but not on saturday against mathews or izzaguire
  7. first look at our new team for me. like the centre back pair. warren looks like he can be a big player for us. no confidence in either full back on show today though midfield i thought jones was having a good game and draper has presence. up front oh dear mackay cant hold the ball up, too light. means a team like killie the get possesion easily and keep for long spells pick of the bunch for me were sutherland and doran doran always comes sideways or turn and goes back. does not have the pace to take the opponent on or does not have the confidence to do so. head went down i thought after he should have made it 2-0 jonny hayes he is not shane -- i will never be convinced this guy can can be a spl player. he runs with the ball until he loses it, which is not very far. or he passes to an opponent. had one great run though only to finish with a weak shot straight at the goalkeeper. we should have put this game to bed after 20 mins. draper should have scored from close range, doran played in by jones i think and hits it straight at bell when it looked easier to score. rabbit in headlights comes to mind. after that killie passed us to death without creating much, how they miss dene shiels. should have stolen the points at the end with nick ross header. are we so bad in front of goal or is cammy bell the best goalkeeper on the planet. sorry to say i came away wishing i had kept my 500 quid in my pocket and not bothered buying 3 season tickets
  8. sorry if i have caused offence. just been reading over what i posted, cant see where i complain we dont have enough local youth coming into team. as i said was not at game so was not commenting on polworths contribution. i just thought the most experienced player on the bench was morrison so for me he would have been the choice to help contain st mirren and hold out for the win. as i have said if shinnie had connected with the ball when he tried to punt it upfield we would probably not be having this discussion. these 2 points may be the difference come the end of the season.
  9. just watched the highlights. looked quite good but yet again we cant see out a game when in a winning position. thought i was was watching kenny gillet again but it was shinnie who tried to hoof ball up field in last minute and had a fresh air swipe. st mirren get possesion, cross ball to score, 2-2. esson did not look to clever either, but the ball should have been hoofed to saftey buy shinnie oh dear. tel why cant we shut the game down when leading with minutes to go. after we scored to go 2-1 up highlights showed it was all st mirren to the end the bench had youngsters with zero spl experience except morrison. meekings and ross already on 31 Scott Mathieson 14 Meekings 11 Ross 19 Morrison 20 Laing 21 Polworth 16 Oswell could we not bring on a midfield player to try and stiffle st mirren instead of a young boy getting his first taste of spl in the heat of the battle. just a thought but as i was not at game should probably not comment. sorry
  10. excellent thread, no mention of munro, duncan or tokely so things must have gone ok
  11. i will go for tomorrow the SFA will refuse to grant newco a licence for the sfl and the spl will take them in as club 12.
  12. the decisions have been made. time to live with it all businesses / markets/ house prices etc etc go through a time of correction. everything cant keep going up we should be living within our means and using the sky cash only as a bonus and not be dependant on it for survival. time now for scottish footie to find its true level. if that is part time football for us and others in the SFL so be it. also all this nonesense about fans providing more cash, what a crock of sh1t. we pay well over the odd's for the product on show. get the management and players to take pay cuts. if not get others in on a reduced budget. hearts are doing it. time to wake up and smell the coffee.
  13. would consider it as the rain must stop soon, but only if celtic paid the 20 odd quid adult price for all seats in north stand whether they populate them or not on the day. also Money up front, cash in club bank a/c before game. dont want to loose any more cash to a glasgow club
  14. get over the loss of tade. dont think he would have played many games from the start if shinnie, and doran had been fit the whole season. tade got me off my seat a couple of times early doors when through on goal with the keeper to beat. after the second time i just sat in my seat when i saw it was gregory on his way to goal. decent runner and a nuisance to defenders but no quality when it counted. before anyone comes back with goals scored, ask yourselves how many a fit shinnie would have scored. jonny will be hard to replace, but we seem to have managed it before, robson, cowie, wilson etc. doran its time to step up to the plate
  15. is that one down, only 6 of seven new faces to get. hope not
  16. mr cameron as you monitoring this website -"Similarly, all the posts on the fans' website have been noted"- can i ask that if the decision reached by the club is not to a supporters likeing, will you commit to refund any season ticket monies if a supporter requests their cash back. i would certainly be asking for my £510 if the club votes in favour of rangers
  17. here's hoping we are not looking for schools for the players
  18. rangers or what ever the newco name will be should not be allowed to stay in the spl....... do the right thing. let them enter the sfl at the lowest entry point, if there is a spot available assuming that other teams are not on a waiting list for entry . let scottish football find its true level, if that is part time footie so be it.
  19. renewed 3 of my 4 today. granddaughter fed up going has fallen by the wayside cost me £514.50 (4.50 booking fee) mr jobby dip into some of that heavy pension and get signed up i am working my nuts off to pay into the fund to keep you and others in the comfort you are in
  20. 2-0 up to du on a wednesday night, playing really well. enter jonny russel and it is 2-3. after 3rd goal golafart runs to halfway touch line where butcher is standing with his notebook and pencil in hand. reading his lips goes something like " hey boss do you want me to go up front to get a goal" butcher goes nuts, arm waving, swearing and throws his book at golafarts head. golafart trots head down back to defensive position hillarious
  21. from what i can see a 3-0 win for hibs on saturday and we end up in 11th instead of 10th
  22. booked and took my 5 year old grandson to the event, totally enjoyed it asking if it is on again next week. excellent evening, all first team squad and tel and mo there mingling with the kids. warned him in the car on way down not to be cheeky when talking to players, he was mascot last year and after toss of coin ran off and had to be chased by ritchie foran and lifted off the pitch under ritchies arm. so he was warned. passed him into his group at the start which was allocated to tade and golabart. next thing tade is shouting jokingly " wheres your grandad i want to see him". i was pointed to and tade comes over " so you dont like me" little b###er listens to me too much on a saturday and told tade straight away. very nice bloke, good crack. on way down told him that his fav hayes was leaving maybe for aberdeen. on way home he told me hayes was not leaving. one of the items tonight was hayes and doran teaching the kids dribbling skills round cones. he asked doran if hayes was leaving to which he says doran replied " jonny is not leaving he is staying with inverness." you heard it here first if you want to believe the little b###er.
  23. saying ticket prices frozen is misleading for me. i buy 4, two adults and 2 under 12. last year i got both under 12 free only paid for adults, this year paid extra for 2 adults and 30 quid for 1st under 12, 2nd under 12 free. this year have to pay for 2 adults and 30 quid for each under 12. 540 quid if i get the early bird price. time footie clubs realise there is a recession and people cant magic up that sort of cash in 3 weeks, if in fact they can at all at moment looks like me and 1 under 12 as wife no longer interested along with other under 12. would be a fool to splash out cash on season tickets without finding out who is going and who is coming in first. i know we are aldi/lidl shoppers and we did well to remain in the league again, but apart from 1-0 over hearts the product on the park at home this year was mince more likely will not renew any and only attend the derbies im afraid. ps i could not give my tickets away last few weeks for sj, hibs, and dunferm to family, work mates. got comps for aberdeen game that grandson got from caley hot shots. managed to get a mate at work to take them who used to be a season ticket holder for years. reply next day " thanks for the tickets but please dont ever offer me any again" says it all when people dont even want to go for free !!!!!!!!
  24. nice one mr jobby. i certainly welcome them with open arms. when we both arrived on the SFL scene i went to the footie with my old man. as he was born and bred a gudgie we would be in the jail end when ict were playing away from home. i always remember the cheers from the county support when the ict score was tanoyed at half time and we were losing. should have seen the look i got the day i roared when the score anounced was us winning at some second division ground. when the derbies were played it was the clach club for a dram on home days and the national when in dingwall. always with my ross county mate from work. at dingwall old man would always be in the jail end and i would be getting soaked at the other. home games he sat with me i am sure he is looking down from above today with a big smile on his face. aahh if only we could do it again one more time
  25. i think we will do very well and only get beat 3-0
