  1. The spire is St Michaels Church in Abban Street and to the left below the tree line is the old Balnafettack Farm, the photo must have been taken from the roof of the Rose St car park.
  2. The Vauxhall Cresta, I have never seen an estate, nice cars but a lot of chrome to polish!
  3. I don't think they were upper level but they were good in their day. My father had 4, a Merlin before my time a 1952 2.5 which was green and black and had the running boards, a 1959 2.6 2 tone grey reg MHL555 which had a front bench seat and the gear leaver was on the right of the seat and the last one he had was a black & white 4/72 left hand drive reg 479FS which he bought after being smashed in Skye. He did the body repairs and converted it to right hand drive with a dashboard from an MG.
  4. Not surprised some players seem to get away with anything, nothing else to add that has not been said on here already.
  5. Glad to have them both at ICT, lets hope they will both be good and keep us up near the top of the league.
  6. Earlier version from the late 40's bughtmaster.
  7. Yes he did well at the weekend and keeping Inverness in the news.
  8. The next one for leader of the Lib Dems will surely be 'Danny Boy' if he keeps his seat! That surely, and in my view deservedly, has to be a very big IF.... Just to clarify I hope he will lose his seat!
  9. You must have been thinking of the Marzine when you wrote that
  10. It's a school that's the best I can do with that one
  11. Carrbridge Hotel with Humber Hawk at front door.
  12. That stop is outside Gilbert Ross and I notice Macrae & Dick across the road don't know what they had there, I remember Burnetts shop in that one or next door. The front tyres on the bus look pretty slick! The cars opposite Austin A55, Hilman Minx & Ford Pop.
  13. I think that one went down to Balmoral, that was one good thing that General Wade did built roads all over Scotland!
  14. Wouldn't know how to I'm afraid - especially since my carrier pigeon has just died. It's easy Charles, click the red More Reply Options on the right, click Brouse, select your photo from your files (double click) click Attach This File and click the blue Add Reply.
  15. Queensgate, on the right outside the hotel entrance a Sabb, Ford Zepher or Zodiac, Triumph Herald estate & Humber Hawk, the van further along is a Austin or Morris J2 and the small car pulling out is a Hillman Husky Van which would have been converted to a car by adding windows and rear seats which was done often at that time as I think there was no tax to pay on the van. My father did it with an old Commer van in the early 60's.
  16. I hope they got a dram of Glenmhor after parade to warm them up!
  17. My son was born in 1984 and my daughter December 1986 both in the old one and the new one opened not long after so would be 1987, and I was born in Dunoon a long way from Raigmore.
  18. I think the first bit collapsed after e first Wick train in the morning.
  19. Easy IHE the junction of Raigmore Brae & Millburn Road, you can see Harbour Road on the other side of the railway, at that time the first building on the left would be the slaughter house and on the right was Autosales garage. Millburn caravan park which I think closed late 60's. The D series Ford would be a 10 tonner, there is a Rover 90 on the left & Mk1 Ford Escort on the right at the filling station.
  20. It is easier when you post the pictures
  21. Yes, the junction of the A939 & A940 (The Dava near Lochindorb) and a bit of history for Charles (the old military road)
  22. A good one of the Old High Church on the left, I got married there in 1982.
  23. That was outside the Rolls Royce Showroom I have mentioned in a previous post, on the left as you head east along Strothers Lane.
  24. Yes, they do a different one every year to advertise the annual ploughing competition.
  25. You are right about the car Charles I haven't a clue! It was the Falcon Square open market which run on Saturdays sometime between 1975 & 1980. It didn't last long, I knew 2 BT engineers who had stalls there, Eddie Mutch Fruit & Veg and Chris Neill an Old bottle & any other junk he could find stall!
