    THE DANCING

Is that CB in disguise dancing with that maiden?
  4. The Square in Byoolee where the Highland Cross finishes. I will not tempt the correction of IBM by suggesting early 1980s on the basis of the motors. Could be Charles but more likely to be mid to late 70's. The small brown one coming out of the square is a Simca 1000, the white one behind the Mini is an Austin/Morris 1800 which was a big flop for British Leyland, the yellow Austin Maxi was a revolution in the late 60's a hatchback with 5 doors and folding rear seats but the build quality of BL let it down. The yellow Reliant Scimitar across the road was a great performance car in contrast with its baby brother the Robin! The light blue van at the front is a Hillman Imp built in Linwood.
  5. The Vauxhall Cresta, I have never seen an estate, nice cars but a lot of chrome to polish! Aye and a lot of rust thereafter !! They were all prone to rust in them days, as a boy I seen one Cresta with huge holes inside the boot at each side of the lower rear wings. They were known to be light in the rear when cornering and this one had been filled with sand on each side which got wet and caused the rust. The owner traded it in for a brand new red Ford Corsair!
  6. The shop & chipper (rear view) Balmacaan Road Drumnadrochit
  7. That looks a fair size boat in at the Anderson St slipway.
  8. Inverness Traction who were forced out of business by Stagecoach who were running free buses a few minutes in front of them! Joe public thought the free buses were great but it was short lived as Inverness Traction could not compete and went out of business then the prices went up surprise surprise.
  9. The spire is St Michaels Church in Abban Street and to the left below the tree line is the old Balnafettack Farm, the photo must have been taken from the roof of the Rose St car park.
  10. The Vauxhall Cresta, I have never seen an estate, nice cars but a lot of chrome to polish!
  11. I don't think they were upper level but they were good in their day. My father had 4, a Merlin before my time a 1952 2.5 which was green and black and had the running boards, a 1959 2.6 2 tone grey reg MHL555 which had a front bench seat and the gear leaver was on the right of the seat and the last one he had was a black & white 4/72 left hand drive reg 479FS which he bought after being smashed in Skye. He did the body repairs and converted it to right hand drive with a dashboard from an MG.
  12. Not surprised some players seem to get away with anything, nothing else to add that has not been said on here already.
  13. Glad to have them both at ICT, lets hope they will both be good and keep us up near the top of the league.
  14. Earlier version from the late 40's bughtmaster.
  15. Yes he did well at the weekend and keeping Inverness in the news.
  16. The next one for leader of the Lib Dems will surely be 'Danny Boy' if he keeps his seat! That surely, and in my view deservedly, has to be a very big IF.... Just to clarify I hope he will lose his seat!
  17. You must have been thinking of the Marzine when you wrote that
  18. It's a school that's the best I can do with that one
  19. Carrbridge Hotel with Humber Hawk at front door.
  20. That stop is outside Gilbert Ross and I notice Macrae & Dick across the road don't know what they had there, I remember Burnetts shop in that one or next door. The front tyres on the bus look pretty slick! The cars opposite Austin A55, Hilman Minx & Ford Pop.
  21. I think that one went down to Balmoral, that was one good thing that General Wade did built roads all over Scotland!
  22. Wouldn't know how to I'm afraid - especially since my carrier pigeon has just died. It's easy Charles, click the red More Reply Options on the right, click Brouse, select your photo from your files (double click) click Attach This File and click the blue Add Reply.
  23. Queensgate, on the right outside the hotel entrance a Sabb, Ford Zepher or Zodiac, Triumph Herald estate & Humber Hawk, the van further along is a Austin or Morris J2 and the small car pulling out is a Hillman Husky Van which would have been converted to a car by adding windows and rear seats which was done often at that time as I think there was no tax to pay on the van. My father did it with an old Commer van in the early 60's.
  24. I hope they got a dram of Glenmhor after parade to warm them up!
  25. My son was born in 1984 and my daughter December 1986 both in the old one and the new one opened not long after so would be 1987, and I was born in Dunoon a long way from Raigmore.
