Yes, it's amazing the difficulty some people have in making that out! On the other hand once they get it the first time it's usually less of a problem thereafter. The likeness to a German soldier of World War 1 is incredible, in particular the moustache which was popular at the time and the shape of the helmet which is subtly different from the WW2 design. Charles you are getting your helmets mixed up or your world wars, unless you are seeing a different German's head than me

The Tarradale closed many years ago leaving only 1 pub in Muir of Ord (The Ord Arms) recently they were replacing the windows in it so there are renovations taking place but don't know what. From the left Austin 12, Ford Consul Mk1 & Mk2 and heading towards Tore a MG I think!

I know you are almost always right on these things IBM, but is that not the Anderson Street side of Bon Accord with Jamaica Street round the corner to the left past the lorries? Is the end of the building, as viewed from Jamaica Street, not to the left? When I worked for Tommy Robb in my summer job in 1971 and 1972, I used to use both doors with my lorry and I think that one may be the one bedise the offices facing on to Anderson Street. Just testing you Charles was it the bottling plant that was on Jamaica St?

Would that have been somewhere between the Muirtown Motel and Blackpark filling station ? I do remember as a kid that there was a steep hill leading down to the road in between those two points (just past the motel chalets before they replaced them with a hotel block). At the top you were near the last few houses at the bottom of scorguie, at the bottom, you were basically almost on the (old) A9. Many a fun afternoon there sliding down the hill on a tyre or on a tin tea tray (nowadays that would be luge I guess !) ....... Late 60s to early 70s we used to go the fields up behind the big house on Firthview Road, I think it was called Charleston House which is now flats (escaping demolition) before Macrae built all the houses further up Firthview Road, Drive and Avenue.
