  1. 2 wins in a row at end of season, it was the start of the season last time we did that. Think Neil McCann will have Dee more up for the Accies game. Think Motherwell would prefer Hamilton in the league rather than us, Derby games etc, so dont be thinking Motherwell will have downed tools on Saturday. We have got to be at it for 95 minutes or so
  2. I think us scoring 5 or 6 against a relaxed Motherwell is a longer shot than us winning two games in a row! So I think a draw tonight is relegation. Have a word with Neil McCann, and offer him our managers post, he might field the reserves tonight, oh maybe not, they might play to impress. Do our players know how much it means for us tonight?
  3. We are down, and we need a new leader. End of
  4. We went about the first half like we knew it was last chance, but once the break came, I think it became a look at what we could lose, so the nerves kicked in. We should have been completely and utterly out of sight, knocking down our goal difference. Hamilton penalty? should have been, but maybe thats the rub of the green we have been missing. So we live for another two games at least. Dont know what result we need from Accies Well next week, probably a draw, as that keeps the pressure on both of them, as our goal difference means they both have the advantage like an extra point. We need a win from the next two away games as a minimum, having one away win all season it seems unlikely, but that first half today seemed unlikely too. They showed there fight today, and we have to show the same in both the Killie and Dungdee games. Richie. we need to be positive throughout. Hopefully they will both feel safe from the drop when we play them, which could be to our advantage.... Still think we will be renewing our rivalry with Livi, the Buddies, Bairns etc
  5. Think he will be given until Christmas to get the team performing, and I think the cut off will be if we are no where near the play-offs minimum. Dundee winning 2-0 at Well just now so I think our fate is certain, as if there were any doubts really. They probably cant afford to get rid of him. cheaper to punt Brian Rice and get Mo assisting. Board tend to give our managers a better crack of the whip than many others would, and I think they will be very unwilling to push Richie, with this status as player and ex captain, and his spoken love of the club. Not trying to imply it would have changed things, but we have had no lucky breaks this season, piles of injuries to important players etc. Also our cup winning turn coat taking the budget certainly didnt help ( who appears to be taking Raif Rovers down into the play offs ) I do think the board might give Richie a bit of time with Malpas, since they gave him such a bad hand to play with in the first place. I have to say though, Malpas on his own as Manager would likely turn out just as poor. Our chance in the Championship will also be enhanced / reduced by who comes down with us!!
  6. He had left Raif before our other former leader arrived after he took our budgets. Wonder where he will play in our defence, or will lack of match fitness go against him? I think this is a move towards next season in the Championship. Terms agreed for the month, if we stay up they can point to the genius move to pull MM back in, if not its prep for next season on reduced money of the Championship. They may be thinking experience of someone who knows club and both divisions, and someone who knows Richie inside out. Think our assistant manager will be gone soon, probably going to see him again at Starks Park next season, unless ofcourse they go down too. Can think of worse moves, but do think its a bit too late
  7. Dundee have taken a bold step with 5 games to go. Will them pressing the panic button give them a lift, or will our consistency with giving Richie time pay off. Who knows, we could go down and have a new manager by the name of Hartley in the Championship, renewing our rivalry with Livi, Falkirk and the Buddies. One thinks for sure, our next two games are our biggest of the season. What would we give for 6 points
  8. have to target Dee for play off spot as 10th not likely now
  9. Radio Scotland saying the same, wasnt over line
  10. feeling something happening now. Motherwell starting to panic
  11. cant start second half like the first, need to create more chances. Dont care how we do it but cant lose. its all over if we lose really
  12. i blame John Hughes for lining his own pockets and taking our budget
  13. At the end of the day, a disappointing finish, but looking on the bright side, we have tightened up at the back, have stopped the sequence of defeat after defeat, we are showing more desire and grit, we are on a run of picking up results, have got ourselves off the bottom, are within one win of tenth, have made inroads on the goal difference of those around us ( by not conceding as many as others ). We were in a position every one didnt want to be, and the hardest bit is getting to the stage where you can see the light. I think we have dragged ourselves up to the point where we can see just one more result and we are out of the play off place too. It must give the players a boost to finally see us climbing of bottom, Remember Well and County are on a crap run now, while we are slowely catching. No old firm games from now, just games we can win. Keep the faith, 9 games and 27 points to go for.
  14. Stop making excuses. it was Celtic, it was Parkheid, Celtic also hammered Rangers, Celtic were excellent. Bottom line, we were *****. Its no good saying such and such was good when they came on, the game was lost by then and Celtic just wanted the pride of a clean sheet. 40m for Dembelle, rubbish, maybe worth 6 or 8 million. WE NEED TO GET CLEAN SHEETS, WE NEED DESIRE, WE NEED COURAGE, AND WE NEED SOME LUCK. C'mon Caley Thistle, lets start playing for our lives, we can still do it, Hearts have had 2 good games, Rangers are in turmoil, and at home we are the only team to stop Celtic having full points. We can get something out of these next 3 games, then we can pass the play off spot and get safety. Come on Jaggies
  15. We are the traditional slow starters remember. We are going to beat Dundee when we need it most. We have 15 Games still to go in the league and none of the bottom 7 are running away from us to quickly. We just need a wee bit of luck.....Nick Ross own goal double? Billy to start scoring on his homecoming? I BELIEVE. Keep dreaming we will be the first domestic team to beat Celtic this season too, although would rather the league than cup tbh - 1 nil by the way.
  16. Just realised that Stuart Armstrong was captain of Celtic last week in Scott Brown's absence. Quite an achievement really. Dont know if Robson did that in his time at Celtic
  17. Also in Highland League Adam MacLeod (Nairn 0 - Strathspey Thistle 2)
  18. It will be interesting to see what Man Ure do in the Europa League this season. Remember Chelsea getting to the final under Benitez, and Jose saying it was embarrassing that Chelsea were celebrating getting into the final. Will he play his second team so they get knocked out early.
  19. See that our Europa league cherry team have done it again. They have just knocked West Ham United out of the Europa league for the second year in a row - 2-1 on aggregate after a 4-3 win last season. Our 1-0 loss to them means we are probably on a par with West Ham overall!
  20. We can now add Birkirkara to that list. Was a suprise that Hearts didn't get a narrow win in Malta, but to lose at home to a Maltese team isn't great at all. Celtic's 3-0 win against the Red Imps was a bit underwhelming too. Really thought they would get closer to TEN at home against them. But half our European qualifiers out two weeks before the season starts aint very good and the embarrassing thing is the standard of opponents who have damaged our reputation. Luxembourg, Gibraltar, Malta. Hibs going out on pens to Brondby was probably harsh, but no comparison to the other results in showing the SPFL's weakness.
  21. wow, how low has scottish football fallen. They are even further from their league season starting than the scottish season. Thought last week in Luxembourg was as low as low. LRI have taken ICT's crown Celtic should win second leg with their under 15s!!!
  22. If they get through to the next round, it will crown their tournament
  23. bauhaus replied to Bronson's topic in Caley Thistle
Dont believe Hibs will go for him really, was chased out of Easter Road last time. Didn't they go on their worst run until Butcher arrived. Another season in the Championship coming up, and I feel the Arabs will get it right next year with Mackinnon. What about John Collins for Hibs, mind you they hated him too in the end. However, have to say, Rotherham United, Rotherham, Geewiz, they are more attractive than Hibs in Europe. Mind you he will be remembered as the man who broke the cup duck, maybe he didnt want to be found out again next season.
  24. I think this is the best bit of news our club could have had. I seriously believe that Richie Foran will turn us into one of the most exciting teams to watch going forward, and we already have the basis of one of the best defences in the league. Can see him look for a player of his own ilk, determined and not shirking a tackle or responsibility. All we need is someone upfront who can score regularly. Billy Mckay might consider coming back now? Who knows, we might already have our goal scorer! Richie, all the best, I trust we are in for an exciting time. Behind you all the way.
