  1. Tug, It used to be one of the old old firm were away each week, which meant SKY or ESPN followed the away one against the smaller team in the SPL, very rarely, in fact I think it was just the Glasgow derbies that had one of them live on tv at home. Will be interested to see what games they chose this year with Edinbra, Duunde and Heilan derbies too
  2. Yes. both halves of the old old firm have a history of twitter abuse, but why would Celtic fans follow an ex Rangers player who has been gone for 3 seasons and played in 2 different countries since. Saying all that, I would have him in our team anyday

  4. Who said you cant win anything with a team of kids? Our youngsters aren't the strongest of teams, with the under 19s league table pointing that out last season. However we do have a good number of individuals who are exceptional for their age, and given games like this will improve even more. Forres are a good physical highland league team, Champions of last season and favorites for the title again. Saw them twice last season, and they were very very physical, infact opposition had 4 players carried of in the two games, including one broken leg if I recall, so playing more first teamers wouldnt be wise, especially as several have had an injury prone history. Well done to the yoof for nearly completing their task
  5. It may be a few years since Nacho Novo kicked his way around the SPL, but the Spaniard had what we have been longing for, passion to play for his clubs, Dundee and Oldco, but some people dont ever move on. Seemingly Nacho was in Scotland this Summer, with his family, and had to be taken into a shop with the doors locked to get him and his family away from abusive Celtic fans. Seemingly he has been getting tweets from Celtic fans threatening him and his family. Oh so glad we dont live in a gold fish bowl

  7. No county are providing the coaches, What they havent said is they will be horse drawn and set of on Wednesday morning. Alternatively, it because some of their own fans have broken down, and they are going to latch the caravans onto the back of the bus to get home
  8. Yes Ian, you will be guaranteed a place in the derbies, looking forward to the first one at Hampden
  9. Sorry Ian, those EBTs have been cancelled. Cash in a brown bag ok. That will do nicely Mr Green
  10. Its because of the hideous choice of strip this year. Well, not really, had 5 season tickets for us and kids until last season (only got to two home games last season and cant afford to throw cash away). Now cant make many games due to work, but still think our strip is hideous. Also, on the loyalty theme, with our desire to sign players on one year deals, why cant we get them with the option of a second year. Loyalty only goes so far as players are concerned, how many of Oldco Rangers players who played for the shirt stayed with the Newco, even on huge wages. If the same were to happen to ANY club, the majority would jump the sinking ship, even if the money was good.

  12. It will probably be a battle between around 7 or 8 to avoid relegation to SPL 2. Hibs, St J, St M, Dundee, County, Killie, Dons and ourselves will be cutting each others throats, with Arabs, Jam tarts and Mothers 2nd to 4th. Dont think Dodds has been right before, so could be a good omen
  13. The thing is, if its newco and no ties to old then they have no debts to pay, no sanctions against them. However, as they want the history, they carry the football debt, take relegation and the signing embargo. All clubs buy success, just costs them differring amounts. If a team won the SPL without buying it, it would have to be amatuers Queens Park. Celtic will win the SPL title this season, and cos no one else can pay the same money, they will be buying the title. The EBT system used by Rangers was not illegal, in fact many other clubs have paid players this way, but the HMRC are closing these legal loopholes. Manchester United use these loopholes just the same, as do Chelsea, Arsenal Man City etc. One thing Green hasn't learnt in my opinion, accussing people of things they aint doesn't do you any favours, look at folks opinion of Neil Lennon. And is it irony that Mr Lennon looks like being investigated for dodging tax now, SPL and SFA dont look good after this pantomine, but SFL do come out looking and smelling better than their admin cousins
  14. Wondered where the cops were, given the very definite sectarian singing. Thought that was illegal now? Were there many arrests? That's where I have a big problem with oldco-Rangers supporters, whichever team they are supporting atm..the level of complete irrationality, bile and just downright arrogance they employ. They are, by far and away the nastiest and least intelligent supporters (en masse) in Scottish Football today, and have been for years, a complete embarrassment to decent Fitba supporters. To be fair, I think they are just about equal with the other half of bile. Been spat on, peed on, had pies thrown at us, and even had a wee kid sh1t amongst us at Parkhead with the best fans in the world shouting Touch him an yer deed, while they sing their bile. Only had coke thrown at us at Ibrokx, and the singing ofcourse. Just a higher proportion of dreggs of society follow both of them, and the more of them they have the lower the tone goes. Brechin did well, Rangers did poor for the team fielded, but if they had a real striker the game would have been finished at half time, although they will likely get one within the month!!!!! Think Greens comments are guided towards the sanctions against them as newco, on behalf of oldco. It does seem like a witch hunt now. Players still won and lost titles during this time in question, their wages didnt change how they won and lost, most clubs pay bonuses dont they, us included. When it comes to gate money, think cup games are always split ( hence why county usually lose 1200 fans compared to league games ) with clubs keeping the home league gates. TV monies would be split between the two teams in a cup game, whereas in the sfl televised games income will go to the SPL, so they feed it between the clubs in the top league, and just drip small amounts down to the sfl clubs, or so they want.
