Motherwell V ICT :matchnight thread
Seems i am first back that was at the game. What can i say, apart from how many emtions have i went through tonight? I went to the game, in all honest, expecting to be humped by an on-form unbeaten in the season SPL team. This all changed in the first 10 minutes when Caley were always on top and playing some excellent passing. Then Well scored against the run of play, which really sickened me. From there on right up and into the second half Well found their boots. Then Barrowman came on which i was really happy about to be honest, i want to see the boy get a good chance, id always pick him over Rooney from what ive seen....and thats rather alot. For Proctor then to get sent off (who didnt see that coming?), and for Well to go 2-1 up was it for me, but then Granty stepped up and the supporters loved it! I thought that even though Well were up to our goals quite alot, they didnt look the most like scoring to be honest. So i though they have dont that for 110 minutes and scored twice, surely we can hold on? I still think if we had held on, we would hae won on penalties the way Esson is on his game just now! BUT im not too downhearted. The boys put in a shift tonight, Duncan and Stratford unlucky not to score even though they both should have. But its a great performance against a good SPL side, which we were down to 10 men against for a long while!! Well done guys, and im really glad i made the journey through!! A night to remember, for good and bad!!

Team for Motherwell
Would like to see Barrowman play up front with Foran, and bring in McBain and Duncan. Id be happy to give those guys a shot, and hopefully make an impression.

Motherwell Roll Call
Im sorry for my earlier negative, although not incorrect, words. I have now come to realise i cant pick and choose when to be a caley fan, even after abismal performances like saturday, so being more southern than alot of you and having less of an excuse of not going, im going to fire along. Butcher should have them fired up for this, especially with it being his old club, but more importantly the players need to show they arent as pathetic at football than they played against airdrie. Motherwell are on fire just now albeit some new injury worries, so im not expecting a result, although if the ICT team has some good changes then i dont see why not. Will drag the GF along too, so Me + 1 Oh Inverness. . .

Ball Control
Tell you what, after seeing the players on saturday, this thread isnt too far from the truth. Makes it more evident that we cant touch and pass the ball, goes for alot of players. And Airdrie were quick to close us down.

Motherwell Roll Call
Unsure to be honest, cant see us winning this one in the slightest. Bit of a rush from work, but if the boys had that extra bit effort on saturday and i knew my journey would be worth seeing a team at least attempt to put a performance in, i would try for it, but this isnt the case. VERY negative speaking i know! Wasnt the last evening game at Fir Park 1-0, 1-1, then we went 2-1, then they equalised late? Thats how i had it in my head. Great game we should have won. John Sutton must have been bitter his brother didnt get our management job. What a worse hole we would be in now!

Dilemma for Butcher
Also confirmed today on the BBC sport website Burley is looking for a replacement for Pressley, most likely to be Gary Macallastair, as he needs a coach with him in Japan while Burley isn on Inverness club duties. Thank feck!

Utd 4 City 3
City have been my 'english team' for a long while before they spent their big money. in fact it actually put me off them after that. BUT, you really got to feel for them today. i watched it at my girlfriends - who are all glory hunting man u supporters, and i am gutted! A draw was a fair result. City first half were brilliant, and Man u second half had the upper hand. Great pass from Giggs for the last goal, but the ref wasnt going to blow until man u scored to win. A JOKE!!

Airdrie Utd V ICT :Matchday Thread
Dont know what that was all about yesterday, but it wasnt good. Good on Johnny Hayes getting the goal, but big big well dont to Esson, who again go us points from a game. I said to my girlfriend before the penalty kick that Esson would save it, thats how much faith i have in this guy. But the more good things he does, the more it gets me falred up he was dropped the end of last season!!! Credit to the Airdrie guys, they really did close down everything we did, then kick the long ball, whereas we tried to get the ball down and pass it, resorting to long balls as a last resort! Ah well, this was a bad week, so the way things go we should have a cracking week next week.....oh wait, i forgot, we are at home next week!!!!!!

Six games into the season
Who would have thought it eh, Raith - the newly promoted 1st division side, and County - the worst team in the world (or i wish). This is a long haul league, and basically ive reaslised it really is anyones for the taking. We all know it takes consistency to win this league, so far its Raith and County who have had this. But, although i cant predict the future, im thinking this two teams good runs will come to and end. I dont know why, i just feel that they have had a good run just now, but dont see it lasting. I totally agree with you on one thing though, Dundee are definitely not ones to watch. They spent big, but as i said to alot of friends, this doesnt always mean you win games! And this has totally been the case. Until we sort out our home form, and stop this good week, bad week, good week, bad week, we will probably be sitting where we are come the end of the season.

Airdrie Roll Call

cmon the diamonds
Haha cracks me up! Im going to come to the game now.

Club Shop
Id agree with that, sort out a bigger shop at the stadium rather than bring it to the city centre. Its hardlya long drive if your in Inverness anyway....might make people want to make the journey more worth it and spend more. Anyway, just to let you know, i phoned the shop today and spoke to the as-ever wonderful Maureen. Bought a fair few items that im sure ill be chuffed with, but the service from the women is outstanding, so big thumbs up for that!! One of the reasons im proud to be an ICT fan, staff are immense! Thanks again

Club Shop
The Black one? Dont suppose you know if theres any left?

Ian Black v Kilmarnock
He also scored a beaut of a free kick against them at home in April i think it was. 2nd last time we played them. Good 'ol Blackie!!
-
Club Shop
So whats the script with this then? Is it only open on match days, if at all? No chance of going for a browse? I wonder if this will also affect the stock they keep in, already they are taking an age to get the new away kits shorts and socks in ive noticed.

Raith Game 3rd October - rearranged
Ill be there.......10 minutes drive, they joys of being able to go to away games down here.
-
Imrie
No doubt a vital asset for the team...and cant wait until hes back.
-
who do you hate the most
Not SFL, but Falkirk. Best mate supports them just becuase he was born there and thats why im an Inverness fan. Only claims he is when we play them though, so why oh why do we always get beat off them recently!!

Can we win the treble?
I dont see why not, but not got a chance if we play the way we are playing. Terry needs the gelling process to happen sooner rather than later...it cant be an excuse 6 or 7 games in! He needs a foot up their arse soon, id like it to be now! Get a win on Saturday, and beat county in the Alba!!

Alba Cup Semi Draw
Cant believe im going to miss this due to a my band have a gig on that date. Isnt that the date of the first old firm game of the season aswell? Hope this is on BBC Alba, got to see this! Revenge attack indeed!
-
Ryan Esson
Would love to see a video of the penalties!!
-
Alba Cup
Not sure personally, dont think alot of members are, but im intrigued so will have a look around.

Dilemma for Butcher
The way i see it, is the Scotland game is a friendly, so not majorly vital, whereas Terry has a big game in QOS. However Maurice would manage himself and i know Terry always bigs him up as a good manager in his own right. I think Terry will be with ICT, whereas my brother (a Tartan Army member) reckons he will be with Scotland. And for all the doubters, if Scotland get to the play-offs, it would be a crying shame if George and Terry werent still at the helm, after all the work they have done!
-
Ryan Esson
Esson is a fantastic keeper, one of the guys i was really happy about staying. Broke my heart for him before the end of last season him getting put 2nd to Mikey Fraser...one of the things i really do think Butcher got wrong!! But im sure he knows that himself. I knew it listening on the radio that he would win it for us...mind you, i wasnt expecting our players to miss 2 though! New one to trust between the sticks in penalty shoot outs since Jim Clader!! Well done Ryan!!

Losing faith in Butcher
TBH i was never a fan of Butcher, wanted Robbo for the job, and couldnt believe it when he stepped in to the Scotland coaching squad! But ever since he took over at Caley, i have grown very fond of him. Has his head screwed on, and isnt afraid of telling it like it is. Hope he can do the incredibly difficult task of getting the team to 1st division title glory. I for one am right behind him, and the club, in doing this!!
