I spent all of yesterday sweltering at the Carve Carrbridge event, 'chainsaw log-carving Scottish championships'. 10.30am-5pm. Got burnt to a freakin' crisp. Felt so ill I had to retire to bed at 6.30pm last night (no kidding ~ think I got sun-stroke ) Today has been spent in gentle repose, catching up on all of last week's P&Js... Yep, it's wild round our way

?3.96 for a 4 pack in Tescos. Erm yes, but I think you'll find beer is usually more expensive in a pub (I love Fairways, love it alot, but ?3.35 for a pint of Guinness? That is going too far.) Was in a pub in Marlow, outside London, last week and they charged ?3.95 Pub in Whitby last week ?6.60 for pint lager and house vodka and coke!! In London for a Paolo Nutini gig in April, a pint of warm Guinness and a small glass of warm Coke in some lousy, empty pub just off Great Portland Street, ?6.30. I almost wept.

Cheap, but grim. The Guilford Arms serves decent pints. I prefer the Cafe Royal next door to the Guildford (though I've no experience of it on a match-day). On the Fb 'Hibs away bounce' event page the meeting-place is given as Wetherspoons/Lloyds at the Omni centre. Someone also told me recently that there's a Walkabout bar in that same complex. I take it the Iona on Easter Road is more 'old school'. Either way, I hope we all manage to meet up somewhere before the game.

Kev, those links don't work. (Because the pics are obviously private on Fb.) Is the first one you referred to the one that the big fella tied to the front of the Section G railings on Saturday? It looked new and it hasn't got any writing on it. It's very nice, by the way. I love the big flags and would also be happy to chip in.

Ooooh, you'll have a ball, I bet! The Fleetwood Town experience really set the standard, didn't it? (They had draught Guinness aswell by the way. A pint and a glass of Coke was something like ?3.20. Sooooooperb!)
