  1. Spot on! At least someone else on here sees sense to the real problem. I sadly wont be going. Desperately want to go, but knew as soon as Sky waded in that i couldnt go due to the following... 1) speaking at church in the evening 2) time of kick off 3) ticket prices 4) lack of travel options I wouldnt be surprised if for most people (2,3,4) is the main reasons why they can't come down. Look at the stupid issue Rangers and Hearts fans are facing because of the ineptitude of SPFL and Sky sports. Sky and the authorities are killing the game in Scotland! I can see three out of four of your issues but, trying to be fair to the SFA, the ticket prices are not at all unreasonable for the semi final of the principal national knock out tournament.
  2. We all support the club, we are all behind the team and want them to win but please excuse some of us for tinging expectation with realism based on recent results and performances. The club is indeed fantastic which is why, happy clappers or not, we all back it fully...
  3. Sadly, can't disagree.
  4. The Dundee United game might yet be a third place shoot out.
  5. I have to say that being critical of the first aiders on the basis of their weight is bordering on being offensive. The Red Cross clearly thought they were fit enough and competent enough to be there.
  6. I suspect it's highly unlikely that any posters on this site have access to Brill's medical notes...
  7. I'd rather Ofere stay with us. Get to the Cup Final and we might be in a position to make offers to both...
  8. Never fear, only one Celtic game we need to win this week and that's still six days away.
  9. Just to clarify they are Red Cross not paramedics Then, as people who volunteer their time for no reward, the criticism is all the more harsh and unreasonable...
  10. Okay I'll bite. What makes you think we will take that number of fans? Sadly, I don't think he is going to be far wrong.
  11. Very harsh on the paramedics. He clearly did not have a head injury, he wasn't having a heart attack, there was no need to sprint towards him. When they treated him they clearly gave him professional and competent treatment.

I hope the OP doesn't object but, as this has now evolved into a general discussion about cricket, I have taken the liberty of amending the thread title.
  14. On no, not another demerger thread !

I am not sure that a tour of the West Indies against a weakened and disorganised test side is ideal preparation for the forthcoming Ashes series. The mini test series against New Zealand next month will be a better barometer. English cricket has been in disarray and riven with internal conflict but with the departure of Paul Downton there is real potential to get it right and modernise the structure with a view to dragging the playing side both at test and, more particularly, one day level up to date. I would like to see someone such as Alec Stewart or Michael Vaughan given a role more akin to that of an international football manager with the old fashioned and outdated selection committee being consigned to history. As for the Ashes, difficult to see past an Australian series win but it would be nice if it was at least competitive.
  16. The Watkins as a striker experiment, which admittedly showed a bit of potential at first, and after being given an extended trial has clearly failed. Not only does it mean we do not have an effective goal scorer but we are depriving ourselves of our quickest and most skilled wide player. We went to a lot of trouble to recruit an out and out striker with a half decent pedigree. For goodness sake let's play him and restore Marley to the position that suits him and the team best.

I still think that Esson is marginally the better of our two very competent 'keepers and, being the man in possession of the gloves, has done nothing to justify being dropped.
  18. Will be appointed manager of Yeovil Town tomorrow. Pleased to see him back in the game.
  19. I was sorry to hear of the recent untimely death of the former Raith Rovers chairman. At a time when many in Scottish football were searching for any pretext to keep Rangers in the top league or the second top division at worst, despite their disgraceful and dishonest conduct over a long number of years and in the face of all sporting and moral integrity and at a time when even those who didn't agree were keeping their heads below the parapet for fear of the backlash from the Union Flag draped hoards, he stood up and had the courage and integrity to state what needed to be said. A brave and honourable man prepared to do and say the right thing. Even with his passing, we are all still Turnbull Hutton.
  20. Difficult enough for us to sustain full time football in the Premiership. With an annual turnover now a million pounds lower than ours and with their huge turnover of players, it is indeed a mystery how County manage their finances.
  21. Maybe we should go lightly on our neighbours. In beating Dundee United and St Johnstone in consecutive matches they have being doing more recently to get us over the line to our record third place finish than we have been capable of ourselves over the last few weeks.....

I wasn't at the Dundee game. Was Esson so bad that nobody is supporting him retaining his place ?
  23. Fifa must've been coming under pressure from those notorious Highland xenophobes... ..and teenage SNP bigots...
  24. Thanks, given our recent league form, I suspect the dark blue hoards will be leaving the TCS satisfied and with at least a point.
  25. Apparently, our under 20s are having a poor season.
