  1. I think it probably has to be accepted that the majority of Invernessians, in common with the majority of the public at large, are not remotely interested in football in any shape or form. To many, the Scottish Cup Final will be of no more interest than the Buckingham Palace Court Circular and of significantly less interest than who are competing in the next series of Strictly. I sometimes wonder if the football fraternity tends to get stuck in its own wee bubble on occasions and forgets that there is a whole big world out there with fundamentally different priorities and interests. That is true but for occasions such as the cup final clubs from provincial towns typically manage to sufficiently engage with their community to be able to take a third or more of the population. Recent examples are St Mirren, Kilmarnock, St Johnstone and, this season our own opponents the Bairns of Falkirk. It looks like we will be taking fewer than a fifth of the population of 'Greater Inverness' so there is scope to do better to come up to par. However, on the upside, this will be far and away the biggest following we have ever had and getting on for twice as many as we look to the League Cup final last season. The report card reads; Solid work with encouraging progress. Room for improvement.
  2. Kingsmills replied to Laurence's topic in General Football
This investigation is not likely to result in reopening the bid processes for 2018 or 2020 as it centres mainly on allegationsof bribe taking in relation to the award of the 2010 tournament to South Africa.

FIFA is indeed a scandal and will, in all probability, become more scandalous still when Sepp Blatter is reelected on Friday.
  4. All very well fighting the Furys but is he man enough to have a square go with Davey Arthur ?.....
  5. Plus 2 buses hired by Dalgetty bay Jaggie. More buses coming from Moray and all the private ones. Of course but Kingsmill was asking about the official supporters ones. Indeed he was.
  6. Would relish the chance to maintain our 100% record against Liverpool......
  7. Not as abjectly as I hang mine.....
  8. I can't see why on Earth it would be too late to open up an empty section. The SFA are not known for common sense but that would take the biscuit.
  9. your 'reliable source' ain't very reliable, Falkirk have been promoting the final all day everyday on social media for the last few weeks. we have flags up in the high street, billboards all over Falkirk district, scarf round the steeple, all the buses sporting messages, grass outside the stadium with 'COYB' cut into it, much bigger buzz round town for this final than the 2009 one. There is also 100+ buses going from Falkirk, 18000 tickets sold and counting. Anyway, good luck and may the best team win, #COYB And, in contrast to us, Falkirk are generating extra interest and excitement by releasing details of tickets sold on a regular basis which, without doubt, will have added to their total. Falkirk releasing details of tickets sold has been a real positive, its got everyone commenting on it That's good and I suspect we will have learned the lesson and do the same for both our finals next season UEFA CL and...? Steady on.We are in the UEFA EL The CL will have to wait for the season after.
  10. I fear this website is about to crash due to the sheer volume of County fans rushing to wish their neighbours and fellow Highlanders well in the final.

  12. How many official supporters buses are we running and is it a record number ?

  14. We broke the cup, we broke the cup, ee aye addio, we broke the cup.......
  15. That is what I thought. Anyway, back to the fun. Just over a hundred hours to go.....
  16. The ICT players are not the only sportsmen bringing credit to Inverness. Inverness now has it's very own international boxing heavyweight champion. Gary Cornish beat Hungarian Zoltan Csala by a knockout in Glasgow on Saturday to claim the IBO heavyweight Championship. The belt itself is is a bit of an unregarded 'Mickey Mouse Trophy' but the opponent represented a step up in class for Gary who is now unbeaten in twenty one professional fights. He is beginning to appear on the radar of the big promoters and already has Kellie Malone in his promotion team. He is probably now just a fight or two away from fighting for the British Heavyweight title. It may not be beyond the realms of possibility that Inverness could have a Word Heavyweight champion in three years time.
  17. This is the 'Contract Situation' thread not a thread to discuss random players released by other clubs who may be on your personal wish list. Can we keep it on topic please.
  18. I shall be wearing red and black as a wee homage to my first footballing love.......
  19. It has to do with the one of the most disgraceful acts and most scandalous and sustained attempts at a cover up and scapegoating of the victims by agents of the state since the war and, I don't know about you but as a football fan and citizen of that state, it has to do with me.
  20. Bit of a work out, no injuries, no suspensions. Result largely immaterial. What's not to like ?
  21. The Josh hearing set Judicial Precedent in regards to the re-refereeing of incidents such as this. The CO should now simply put a red pen through any requests for him to look at stuff which doesn't involve serious foul play or other pre-defined events (like simulation and/or deliberately attempting to deceive an official). No it didn't but, nevertheless, the Compliance Officer got his fingers burned and is unlikely to go down the same route again.
  22. Nobody will be moaning about not getting tickets, there will be tickets for everybody who wants one.
  23. As long as it wasn't Esson who dropped it.
  24. Don't like the blue - any other colour please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How about black ?
  25. County must have been counting the eyes again To be fair to them, they did take over 16,000 to their cup final.
