  1. Quite perceptive of you....that's the last sausage roll I buy from there... In what is likely to be seen as our best season ever, I never thought folk would be complaining about the icing on the cake. European Qualification will be the icing on the cake...
  2. Not quite true. Caledonian FC were once Inverness Caledonian FC but dropped the geographical prefix in the 80's when they thought that the then District Council were frustrating their desire to move to a new location in the Carse.

  4. Does anyone know what the pitch is like now ? I know that there has been a fair while to work on it but it was in a truly terrible state for the Stranraer game.
  5. Also, the last game of the season against St Johnstone when we first secured promotion to the SPL.
  6. I'm hearing that United have sold 1,500 tickets despite the early kick off time and live TV. They will certainly be making plenty of noise.
  7. Living around Aberdeen, their profile in the local media and in general has never been higher since the heady days of their European glory. Was in Inverness through the week and there didn't seem to be nearly the same buzz. Nine days to go. Still time to raise the profile and maybe shift another couple of thousand briefs.
  8. Notice they dont say who there source is tho but I guess this may be fairly accurate tbh? In line with what I've been hearing.
  9. Once more I find myself in agreement with Dougal. If tickets sales are better than being speculated that needs to be broadcast as success breeds success and people like nothing better than jumping on a bandwagon. On the other hand, if sales have been disappointing there's no point in trying to hide that fact as it will become pretty apparent a week Sunday.
  10. No! The league cup is the lesser of the 3 competitions we are in. Both because we are still in with a chance of winning the main cup competition and because there will be significant financial benefit in progressing against Dundee Utd, this Sunday's game is actually more important. Wednesday's game against Hibs is also more important as defeat there could have a serious impact in our bid for a top 3 place. Winning the final on Sunday would be a landmark for the club and obviously very nice but we need our strongest teams possible for the two games ahead of it. Agree. The quarter final of the premier knock out competition is every bit as important as the final the following week. We are only two games away from what would be an even more significant landmark in our history. No way should we be experimenting against United or using the match as any sort of rehearsal for the League Cup final.
  11. I wholeheartedly agree that every fan of ICT and Aberdeen should be at this game and I agree there hasn't been any trouble between our fans. Pre match, most of the ICT fans go into Caledonian golf club where the majority of Dons fans are in and we are treated very good but where this game is concerned I just don't agree that neither sets of fans should be housed above the other. Why? Like you say there has never been any trouble between the fans. The stewards would have no problem seeing people throwing things down.Plenty of teams in England put away fans in the top tier, home fans in the bottom, in fact it used to happen at Ibrox. Would look great for sponsor's,TV etc if we have one of our National cup final with an upper deck of empty seats, not to think of the potential lost revenue to both clubs. Is the upper tier not an extra 5000 odd seats x £25 it's a lot of lost money for both clubs. As I said in my first post, it's a possibility that it may happen and of course it's not guaranteed. I appreciate that it would look good on the television and we would get revenue for filling the ground. I want Celtic Park sold out as much as the next guy but it's more the fact of their previous at Tynecastle that gives you a niggling doubt - it only takes one person. Should be safe enough just as long as Neil Lennon isn't sitting among our support.
  12. 8,500 is a good deal more than the figure that was quoted to be a couple of days ago by a usually reliable source. Are you sure ? If so, that is more encouraging than I thought.
  13. They were. There has never been any history of trouble between ICT and Aberdeen fans so there is no need for segregation to be all that strict. The main priority must be to make sure that everyone who wants to see this match can do so whether in the colours of Aberdeen or ourselves.
  14. Given that we are still some way from selling out our initial allocation despite being on general sale for over a week, we can't really complain if the Dons are now given the upper tier which had previously been provisionally reserved for us. Better that and generating revenue for both clubs than sitting empty with some Aberdeen fans either buying ICT tickets or missing out altogether.
  15. Aye but the Bruce was only outnumbered by three to one...
  16. No big fan of the OP but I too think it's a perfectly valid tread. I believe that 6,000 or so is indeed roughly the number of tickets we have sold so on course for 7,000 to 8,000 which might be a tad disappointing. I have to say that I expected Aberdeen to take circa 30,000 but, in fact, they have sold more than that already and their general sale doesn't even start until Monday subject to them receiving a further allocation. I drove past Pittodrie this afternoon and they were still queueing well out the door. They are on course to have more of their fans at this match than any other match outside of Aberdeen in their entire history and that includes their many cup finals during the hugely successful Fergie era of the late 70s an early 80s. Quite amazing.
  17. I am really pleased that the Dons are selling so many tickets. Every ticket they sell benefits our coffers just as much as theirs. I suspect there will be about forty thousand of their fans to our seven or eight thousand but so what. Parkhead will be pretty full, there will be a great atmosphere and both clubs will get a great financial boost. In our case, about a tenth or more of our annual turnover. Who knows, we might even bring home the first piece of major national silverware to go to the Highlands.
  18. Believe we still have a four figure number left out of our initial allocation and that sales have slowed to a bit of a trickle. We may have to make up for quantity by quality.
  19. Absolutely fantastic. Well done to you! Great gesture. Well done.
  20. According to today's P&J, the Dons have sold out their original allocation of 30,000 tickets an are looking for more and there's don't even go on general sale until Monday. Going to be a good atmosphere at Parkhead.
  21. Might be interesting if they insisted on designing the strips as part of the deal.
  22. I like football. I love ICT but at times when benefits have been cut and dozens of families in Inverness relying on handouts from food banks there is no place for public funds being diverted, in whatever form, to a commercial football club.
  23. I did credit the effort, just not the result of all that effort.
  24. Think 6 points out of 9 makes this a decent week for us no? Ask me that question again after the next three games.
  25. Credit for making the effort but that really is excruciatingly bad and the accompanying graphics are almost as bad as the lyric. Thanks but no thanks.
