  1. A bit test of Hughes's management skills. A wee bit pessimistic myself.
  2. Yesterday's defeat and the magnitude and manner of it will do little to encourage the casual supporter or non football fan swithering about whether to go or not.
  3. Pity we don't have a midweek game to get that out of our system before the quarter final. Dundee United are back in a worryingly rich vein of form.
  4. Apart from the very big operators, indeed because of the big operators, bus companies tend to run on small margins an have little spare capacity in their fleets and often pay their drivers enhanced rates at the weekend especially on Sundays. Can't rely ask these businesses to ferry hundreds of fans to and from Glasgow at a loss.
  5. Nor should we. The League is our best chance of qualification for Europe. Pity Terry Butcher didn't do us a favour this evening.
  6. They could weave the shirts as well. Would be a good deal better quality than Errea.
  7. and almost as many for our 'home' quarter final against Rangers (remember them) at Tannadice.
  8. Agree absolutely with one and two. Could live with the club getting a bob or two from a reputable bookmaker.
  9. *Throws 5p in IHE's hat* Fantastic gesture by the OP, btw. Agree. Fantastic gesture.
  10. Sadly, I believe we are still closer to the 3,500 than 5,000. The Dons have shifted 20,000.
  11. Every little helps..
  12. Can't see that catching on.
  13. As previously stated a pretty mediocre deal accepted at the depths of the recession. Not comfortable, in any event, with a shirt sponsor who attempts to meddle in the boardroom.
  14. Special cup final hats. Damn fine idea..
  15. Also gave Billy a bit of a rest before what's bound to be a hard shift for Saturday.
  16. Wasn't going to go last night but so glad I did in the end. Can add little to what's been said already. I am a John Hughes sceptic but that must have been the best we've played under his management. The tactics could not be faulted and each and every player stood up to the plate and it's impossible to single out any individual. We were so dominant that Hughes was able to give Billy a 20 minute rest ahead of what's bound to be a hard shift for him up front on his own on Saturday. Smart thinking. What a racket me made outsinging the natives from start to finish, not that there were many left by the end. If we can get five times as many as that in that sort of voice for the final then Parkhead will be rocking. If the team play like that then Aberdeen better watch out.
  17. Let the train take the strain..
  18. Hasnt been allowed in the past. Will try and suss it out on Saturday if you want? Thanks but, on reflection, will probably make other arrangements.
  19. Thanks never been but will take your advice an take the kids elsewhere.
  20. Does anyone know whether the London Road Tavern will welcome children ?
  21. The walk from Bellgrove will be a chance to get a rousing chant going on the way to the ground.
  22. Official scarf. Club pockets about a fiver profit. Half and half scarf club gets nothing. No brainer.
  23. You've got the option of heading to central and getting the low level to Bridgeton aswell. That's alot closer to Parkhead than Bellgrove is. The special train ticket includes return travel to Belgrove in the price. I'm assured it's only a ten minute walk max. Quite a brisk ten minute walk. Bellgrove is about a mile from Parkhead but I am not sure that Bridgeton is any closer. The other station relatively close is Dalmarnock but again you would have to walk from Queen Street to Central an pay the extra fare. Much better just to use the inclusive fare to Bellgrove.
  24. May as well get Germany away out of the way first.
