  1. If Terry is not in the ICT dugout tomorrow that will only mean one thing.
  2. According to the Courier, Raven is back fit. Back to the established back four in that case.
  3. Extremely successful during his very brief stint at Hearts. Much less so since.
  4. I would be surprised if the board have not used the week's notice they have effectively been given to discuss potential new managers and draw up a shortlist with a view to using the international break to get the new man in place.
  5. IHE holding out for 4 pies, 12 double voddies, a bucket of tattoo ink and the development of a garden centre at one end of Easter Road and a distillery at the other together with the planting of trees opposite the main stand.
  6. Recall being offered one on the way in. For some reason I declined...
  7. Also, almost 30 years since Archie last managed in his own right.
  8. We are happy to welcome anyone to the TCS but if you do come please leave the song book at home. Better still, consign it to history along with the old club that was so badly tainted by it and what it stood for. By the way, we are not just gents. Quite a few ladies as well.
  9. In all seriousness, what about Pat Fenlon. His stock was high before taking the Hibs job. From his experience in Ireland, he is used to gaining success on a limited budget that success including, in relative terms, success in Europe. I don't think his tenure at Hibs was all that bad. He inherited a team that had been underperforming for years with an ethos of enduring defeat and failure yet led them to successive Cup finals. and, although this season started off with the Malmo debacle there's no doubt that Hibs were making some progress and are a better side, even without the services of Leigh Griffiths, than they were last season or the season before.
  10. No surprise there.
  11. An odd venue to stage a football match when Northampton's ground is available
  12. No need for another thread on this matter.
  13. Didn't exactly set the heather on fire at Swindon either.
  14. I was also proved wrong, I thought it was a bad appointment at the time going by his previous managerial record. I am happy I have been proved wrong and I think that considering our position against budget is our most successful manager to date and if he does go I hope it is the right way and he can leave with the reputation as an ICT legend which I think he deserves. Largely agree. Turned out to be a much better manager than I thought he would be but, in my opinion, not quite a club legend although that would change if he stayed until the end of the season at least and landed us our first major national trophy or a place in Europe or, ideally, both.
  15. Where is Eric Black these days ? Strikes me as a good coach who will be reasonably well connected within the game.
  16. The really important question is whether this thread is going to become longer than the 'Butcher to Barnsley' thread.
  17. I disagree that if he went it would only be for the money. No doubt his personal salary would be enhanced but he would also have a club to which he would be able to attract players of a higher standard due to the profile of the club, it's location and the fact that he could offer a player at least twice what we could. On top of that, whilst there is no doubt that Hibs have been in the doldrums for years if not decades, if he can turn them around they have the potential to attract regular home crowds in excess of 15,000 whereas I doubt we will ever have a core of more than 4,000 no matter how successful we become. It would certainly be a much bigger risk than remaining at the TCS but I can see reasons why he may well be tempted to take that risk.
  18. I would be keen on an ambitious young manager and would be happy to take a punt on the likes of Paul Hartley, Colin Cameron or our own Charlie Christie who, in my opinion, quit far too early last time around. Ideally any one of them to be paired with an experienced old head in the Donald Park mould. Personally, even if he could be persuaded to stay, I think Maurice Malpas would be too much of a risk. He seems a very able number two but his record on his own is very poor indeed. He will probably leave with Butcher but it would be ideal of we could retain the services of Steve Marcella possibly as Director of Football with responsibility for player recruitment.
  19. Quite fancy Sevco either home or away.
  20. Just out of interest, why do you believe he wouldn't be tempted ? Bigger club, bigger salary, bigger player budget.
  21. Delighted. A chance to put right last season's wrong.
  22. Hope we get Hearts again. A chance to avenge last season and also the weakest opposition left in the tournament. On the other hand, it would be interesting to see what venue would e selected if Aberdeen and Hearts were drawn together. Surely, for the sake of consistency, it would have to be Easter Road.
  23. No doubt if we got Aberdeen Tannadice would be chosen as the 'neutral' venue.
  24. Team did okay but what a wonderful performance from the floodlights. Kept going strong and stuck to their task for the full 120 minutes.
  25. About his level..
