Dogs running onto football pitches were frequently sources of entertainment in the 60s and 70s. The advent of all seater stadia seems to have put an end to that.

I have a birthday looming which, for the first time, takes me closer to 50 than 40. This thread has cheered me up leaving me feeling relatively young !

Aparently Margaret Thatcher is currently on the top of that pile.

I wouldn't blame the lad for going if he gets the oportunity to play in front of almost 30,000 fans for four or five times his current salary. If he's determined to go at the end of the season then we should try to cash in on him in January. In the meantime the club should be making every realistic effort to try to get him to extend his contract.

It looks like there were no players available within our budget that the manager considered to be better than those alrady at the club. On that basis, it was sensible not to bring in anyone just for the sake of it.
