  1. A shame but given the current economic climate and the club's own less than rosey finances probably only sensible.
  2. Leeds may be on their uppers but they would still be able to pay players salaries at several times the rate we could.
  3. That may have been your desire but without the merger and the support of those backing it that desire would have remained a forelorn hope.
  4. Given McGuire's experience relative to the majority of his team mates, he has let them down big style.
  5. I'm increasingly in agreement with Mannie on this one.
  6. When on earth is the rancour from a series of events a decade and a half ago going to stop ? Those non attenders that you speak about do not amount to more than a few dozen on both sides of the "great divide". It's franky beyond me how anyone can seriously argue that to have two part time clubs continuing to play in an increasingly weak and impoverished regional league with the occasional foray as far as the last 16 of the Scottish Cup would be preferable to having professional club offering well paid full time employment to dozens and able to compete with the Old Firm and others on a regular basis. We all had to cede a little of our footballing heritage in 1993 but there's no sustainable argument whatsoever that the merger has been anything other than a triumph for football in Inverness.
  7. Whatever happened to the concept of the attacking player getting the benifit of the doubt ?
  8. Far and away the best programme of it's kind.
  9. Now that Black has made it clear that he's happly in principle to stay we should be pulling out all the stops to get him signed up for another three years. I can see him maturing into the sort of player by then who might command the club's highest ever outgoing transfer fee.
  10. At least, with theinternational break coming up, Black has an extra week to recover from his injury. Any up to date news on his condition ?
  11. I'm no great fan of squad numbers but they are practical with players names now on the shirts.
  12. On The Waterfront King Kong (Original version) Kind Hearts and Coronets Taxi Driver It's a Wonderful Life
  13. Given the height of prams back in the 50s, that must haqve been some size of dog !
  14. Sadly I believe that this season's results in Europe are probably a more accurate reflection on the ability of Scottish teams than last's.
  15. Impressive attendance but Motherwell were outclassed by a French teanm who are struggling in their own domestic league.
  16. I remember that match as well, it was billed as something of a warm up for the home based Scotland players prior to the Argentina World Cup. However, there was also a represtative match; either at B level oe under 21/23 level against Scandanavian opposition a couple of seasons later.
  17. Dundee United have shown their true potential in their two most recent matches and are going from strength to strength. Caley Thistle, on the other hand were comprehenibly defeated in their last match on the road despite their opponents concern over unpaid wages. Dundee United 2, ICT 0
  18. Good for him, one to watch out for next season perhaps.
  19. I'd like to join with the vast majority in wishing Steve well in battling his serious problems. Apart from anything else it must have taken considerible courage to go public. We all knew that Steve had issues with drink and gambling over maney years but it's still a shock to read just how serious the problem was. All the best Pele. Without your skill as a football manager ICT would not be in the SPL today.
  20. Given his record since signing for St Mirren, thank goodness Dargo didn't accept our offer of a two year contract at ?2000 a week.
