  1. I don't think that anybody wouls disagree with that.
  2. No thanks !
  3. Marty, I suppose that the main problem in recruiting an experienced forward is the lack of availability coupled with the expense.
  4. I agree with Scotty, the only player the squad is lacking is another experienced forward.
  5. Manny's selection just goes to show what a deep squad we have these days.

I can only assume that the club are getting a very good deal' otherwise they would have surely goneelsewhere long ago.
  7. Sales are down on last season. I don't know by how many.
  8. It would benifit both he club and the players for these two to get regular first team action elsewhere.
  9. The Peterhead match is at Balmour. Not sure about the 'Vale game
  10. I know that, on the face of it, we've had a good pre season scoring barrowloads of goals and conceding none. However, I'm a little concerned that when the season starts we will have had only one genuinely challenging match against Sheffield United and even that will hae all the hallmarks of a testimonial with numerous substitutions including a fair number of guest players. Charlie and Donald obviously know what they are doing but I'd have liked to have seen at least one other game against higher standing opponents.
  11. What a servant to the club, he deserves a bumper turnout.
  12. Iain Stewart; first he loses his status as our all time top scorer and now, with today's news on John Rankin, as our all time most expensive incoming transfer.

On how long a contract ?
  14. I've come to admire Terry Butcher in recent years.
  15. The fact of te matter is that, even taking bonus payments into account, our players are still, on average the lowest paid in the SPL. However, he gap between ourselves and the liles of Kilmarnock, Dunferemline and Motherwell is nawwowing all the time as our wages creep up and the others, at best, remain static.
  16. Thus' one of the longest running transfer sagas in the history of Scottish football finally come to an end. We'll have nothing to talk about now.
  17. I can't think of a good exerienced striker who would be available and within our budget. I agree, however, that we need someone to share the load with Dargo and Wyness.
  18. Visiting in laws in Kent so I sincerely hope that England have no continuing interest in the competition by then.
  19. I promise not to darken your positive thread with my negative thoughts again.
  20. I don't think that there's any possibe sinister motive here.
  21. I still can't see too much to be positive about. Our prospects for Euro 2008 are very poor indeed.
  22. I suspect that David utherland will still hae a great deal of influence in the boardroom.
  23. As usual, I suspect thatr there will be a bit of late activity. I can see us signing one midfielder and one forward before the start of the season with one or two of the current squad being transfered out.
  24. Strikes me as a very poor way for any manager of a business to treat experienced staff.
