  1. I disagree, the priority must be to make progress in the competition especially just now when the revenue from the latter rounds might go someway to filling the hole in the club's finances.
  2. Roscoe's been tried a few times in midfield over the years he's been with the club and never with much success.
  3. I don't think that BarryRobson ever played for the Rangers first team, even as a sub.
  4. The fact is that clubs like ourselves and Kilmarnock have to charge these sort of prices in order to balance the books. Clubs have tried in the past to experiment to see whether substantially reduced admission prices would attract proportionately more fans but it seems they do not. I seem to recall that when Boyle first took over at Motherwell they persisted with this sort of experiment for some time and that was one of the reasons they ended up in Administration. That and paying ludicrously lavish wages to the likes of John Spencer.
  5. New Tynecastle cycle park criticised for only having the capacity to park one bike.
  6. I'm sure that there was but, then again, my memory is increasingly fragile.
  7. That's certainly my understanding.
  8. Thanks Alex, despite my reservations, I'm increasingly tempted by the idea of some nocturnal cage or pen.
  9. Strangely enough, I got that impression.
  10. Thanks Charles. Great credit to our youngsters for getting this far in the competition against teams of mature men even if one or two of the opposition are apparently too ardent in their support for the local chippie !
  11. It's not a question of who should go but who we ned to bring in. An experienced striker is required as a mater of some urgency. The young lads we have up front all have some talent and potential but they need a experienced head in there somewhere.
  12. Apart from the forward line, we probably have the best squad of players in the club's history. The fault lies elsewhere. Brewster was a great player for us for a season or so, his managerial record during his first stint was boosted by what he brought to us on the park. His true ability as a manager, or the lack of it, was exposed during his abysmal tenure at Tannadice and has only marginally improved since his return. He may be becoming a slightly better coach and manager but from the lowest possible base. He's not aparently learning quickly enough from his mistakes and it often sems to be a case of two steps forward followed by three steps back.
  13. If it come down to a straight choice betwen Brewster and the ever improving Ian Black I know where my vote would go. Pity, like the vast majority of us, I have no say in the matter !
  14. The fact that we don't have a single experienced forward player at the club is now begining to tell.
  15. The fact that we were able to make a bid, albeit unsuccessful, of ?100,000 inthe transfer window suggests that our short term financial position isn't as bad as all that.
  16. Late payment of wages is very often a sign of worse to come. Given the extent of their debts to their owner and/or his companies the future could be grim for Hearts.
  17. Any decision not to offer Black a new contract would be shocking mismanagement. He's matured into a fine midfield player who will only improve with experience.
  18. I'm prety sure that Mitchell and Craig was an ironmongers.
  19. Not off to the best of starts !
  20. A doubling of his salary might be quite an incentive.
