  1. It's Who Knows I was wondering about.
  2. FT. 0-5. Only a bit of a workout but a clean sheet and five different goalscorers has to be encouraging.
  3. Does anyone know who the trialist is?
  4. On the other hand, you don't tend to have several thousand guests from several thousand different households in your living room. My best guess is that from 9th August clubs will be permitted to fill their grounds with home fans but with no away supporters allowed until much later in the season Then again, when it comes to guessing, I had a tenner on Scotland winning 2-1 last night.
  5. It probably wouldn't have made a difference but questions need to be asked about whether there was a breach of protocol that resulted in our most creative player catching Covid and thus missing such a vital match. Not to direct blame at a 20 year old lad but to establish what seems to have gone wrong behind the scenes and why.
  6. The course of this pandemic is, of course, difficult to predict but, subject to that caveat, the current plan is for stadia to operate at full capacity from 9th August onwards.
  7. Of the top 50 nations in the Fifa World rankings we probably carry the least threat up front. This is a decent squad, perhaps the best in some time, and relatively young. However, unless and until we can somehow find one, and preferably two, international class forwards we won't be making much progress if any.
  8. Just the typical experience of being a Scotland fan. Something happens to give you fleeting hope, the Archie Gemmil goal against the superb Netherlands side in 1978 probably being the prime example, and the crushing reality then returns.
  9. Clach v ICT. Far and away the biggest game of football taking place in Scotland this week.
  10. Entirely in our hands and we are also entirely capable, on our day, of beating Croatia at Hampden. Personally, I have got used to group stage disappointments from 1974 onwards, some older posters may even be able to add 1954 and 1958. The hoodu has to be broken sometime and what better time than this evening in front of a restricted but passionate home crowd.
  11. Yes. Organisers can apply for spectators to be present which application will, almost certainly, be garanted at level 1 or 2 but with conditions and restrictions on numbers. My son's amateur team permits 1 spectator per player provided advance notice is given and contact details registered.
  12. If I was the new Celtic manager I would be making every effort to keep one of my most skillful and talented players who is still young enough to develop further. If I was Ryan I might be tempted to put my negative experience under Lennon and Kennedy behind me and give the new coaching regime a chance.
  13. You have clearly been in North America far too long. We have many more than a single 'math' here. You will be opining on who to play in offense and defense in the forthcoming soccer game.next
  14. Billy Gilmour out of the Coatia game after a positive Covid test. I wonder how many of his fellow squad members are close contacts and may have to follow suit ? Could be an enormous blow to our, already quite slender, hopes of qualifying for the knockout stage.
  15. Having Tierney back also made a huge difference.
  16. Just need to beat the World Cup finalists to make Kingsmills a highly contented man.
  17. Magnificent performance. Huge hearts and no little skill.
  18. Come on Scotland. England are, with every justification, firm favourites but we perform best as underdogs. We can do this
  19. Your point is perfectly valid and you are absolutely entitled to it although it now seems clear that neither player was free to move to us in January. Even if they were, why, at that time, would they choose to play at a lower level for half pay or less ? Now that they have effectively been made redundant they are choosing to move to the only other major employer in the same industry for over a hundred miles around so they don't have to disrupt their settled domestic arrangements. I am sure that the great majority of us would do the same in similar circumstances.
  20. I hope not. That would be fundamentally unfair. If there is to be a continuing restriction on numbers the equitable way to deal with it is by ballot.
  21. It would appear that you are very much in the minority with such a negative view. Personally, I am more enthused about the new season than I have been for some time.
  22. Great to see us doing so much business, and with such decent players, so early in the close season in contrast to so many years when we are playing catch up in July. That is the midfield and attack well and truly sorted with a decent depth and range of options in both departments. Just the defence to sort out now. Excellent. business so far on such a tight budget.
  23. I think this will be the most entertaining and competitive Championship for a number of years with ourselves, Kilmarnock, Hamilton, Dunfermline, Raith and Partck all fairly evenly matched in terms of financial resources and playing squad. It could indeed come down to fitness and avoiding unnecessary injuries in training so Mr Hughes could turn out to be the most important addition of all.
  24. You are absolutely correct in your assumption that I am not altogether familiar with the work of Mr Clark-Neal.
  25. Great to have such a promising youngster and for the full season rather than just until January. Not sure if it's down to Robbo, Dodds or the CEO but an excellent piece of business by someone.
