  1. I would back an 18 team top division even if it did mean more limited income.
  2. Heard the same rumour about Robbo.
  3. Whilst I would like to see County avoid the drop, on current form they must be favourites for the automatic relegation spot.
  4. I am sorry to say that Sophia, SM and others are correct. I have often been surprised and saddened by abuse directed by home " supporters" against opposition players based on nothing other than their ethnic origins. Of course the problem is much less obvious than the bile pouring out of the visiting Old Firm hoards but it's the thin end of the wedge and, as such, more than worhy of comment and rebuke. I don't want to have to be constantly explaing the ill considered comments of bigots to my children who have come along to watch a game of football.
  5. Unless views have hanged markedly since my poll thread three weeks ago there seems to be a strong preference for Grant Munro.
  6. Nice to see a professional footballer who is older than myself, if only just.
  7. Does Brechin not have a greater population than Dingwall ? Anyway, the village of Gretna is smaller than both.
  8. I would like to see the boy given another season to establish himself, he clearly has potential.
  9. Dargo, who earns his living from playing football, wants to wait to see if he has any options at the end of his current contract, what's wrong with that ? If nothing better is offered I'm sure he will stay with us and continue, injuries permiting, to be on of our most skillful players. If on the othr hand some other team ofers him much better terms he's likely to take them, who wouln't in the same circumstances ?
  10. As a nation we spend far too much time looking back at some conveniently distorted view of history. Indeed, there may well have ben times in the past when the union was of benifit to many, if never all, Scots. In my opinion, however, it's long since past time for us to take control of our own affairs or at least as many of them as the constrainsts imposed by the, probably necessary, evil of membership of the EU will allow.
  11. It doesn't matter where they originate, they still seem to hsve a better track record at finding them and bringing them on than we do.
  12. As a nation we have an outsized chip on our collective shoulders. That, in my opinion, has a lot to do with being the junior partner in an unequal union for over three hundred years. Once we at last have the confidence to break these shackles we can begin to emerge as a confident country.
  13. Like many other darker aspects of our history, the clearances were largely inflicted on Scots by their fellow Scots.
  14. Is Ian Black not suspended ?
  15. I suspect that if St Johnstone don't get promoted they will not be that hard to deal with.
  16. I agree that all the St Johnstone players mentioned are wothy of consideration.
