  1. back down to earth with a bump but thankfully Motherwell and Aberdeen cancelled each other out but we missed a real good opportunity to put more pressure on them
  2. If people think that Hearts deliberately changed the date to before the semi final to get Stevenson to be eligible they are wrong. It has worked out for them in that respect but the real reason that it has been rearranged is they need the money with things going dry in march if they don't get out of admin quickly. Yes Stevenson will now be ready for the semi final but they will not be able to make many changes to keep there squad fresh. We have beaten hearts twice and been pretty dominant in both games with Stevenson in the side both times so he wont make a massive difference. We shouldn't underestimate them but we should be to strong for them if we play at our best.
  3. For anyone that is worried about Hearts and the administration it is very unlikely they will have any new players for the semi final. Yes Stevenson can and well played but he isnt really prolific goal scorer anyway so doesn't change much and as i said in another post we shouldn't underestimate Hearts but we should still be to strong for them and have outplayed them twice this season. The administration issue all now hangs on the Lithuanian's and how quick they can sort all the legal processes out. My mate who is a season ticket holder believes that it could be done as early as next Friday. Now that is only hearsay and it may be longer and i wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. But if next Friday is the day then they will still not have any way of signing players with the offices of the SPFL not open to register any new players until the 3rd. And if they do come out earlier then they have to have a list of players already on the radar and negotiated in principle to get them through for the semi final. And even then any player they try to sign will have to under 21 until the 1st of Feb so all the experienced free agents still wouldn't be eligible to play.
  4. The perfect day we win, Dundee United got gubbed as well as Motherwell and the dramatic late events at Mcdaimaid means we put more space between us and saints
  5. full time yessssssssssssssssssssssssssss
  6. hear is Tansey
  7. Tansey did underachieve but the majority of players did and we were only saved by the fact Dunfermiline couldn't win many games including hardly any at home and Hibs were drastic. But i agree with the post that suggests his style didn't fit in with our style for the time. Fast forward 12 months and we finished top 6 just missed out on europe and getting recognised slightly more by the media for our style of play. Had Tansey stayed then im sure he would have been far better suited which is why i think he will be shrewd piece of business . I think he will give us that extra bit composure and link up from midfield that has been lacking since foran got injured. Doran, Ross and whoever plays in behind Billy have had to drop deeper to get hold of the ball leaving billy more isolated. I just think Tansey can add that link up from deeper in midfield allowing our more creative forward thinking players to push up and support billy better. He may also play in behind billy but i think he is in to add more depth to the two deeper midfield positions.
  8. was a poor pen nice height and to central needs to hit it in the corners with pace
  9. Hearts will not have 5 new players unless they get rid of 5. Skacel may sign for them as Adam King is likely to be on his way to swansea but unless another 4 go then no one else will be signed. My mate who is a season ticket holder at Tyncastle told me that the other 3 besides skacel and driver that they wanted in were Gary Kenneth who is training at Riccerton apparently, Bruno Aguiar who is also training at Riccerton and Kevin Kyle. These players cannot be signed unless 5 go
  10. Nick Ross is a talented footballer but at the same time he is very frustrating. Forget the penalty it was terrible effort but lets not forget our goal machine upfront has been culpable of missing some. I think Nick Ross is in the same category for me as Tom Cleverly at United. They both have a good level of technical ability but my beef with both of them is they dont show there ability enough and always look to pass instead of trying to get forward and maybe use there skill to take people on. I know Nick is not the quickest but what he lacks in pace he could use in guile and a little trickery which he could use. He just lacks a little bit of cutting edge at times and even though i dont think he is good as Doran he has the potential to create just as much but in this respect i agree with Manfer. But i wouldnt suggest he be sent out on loan and ever stop his progression or send him backwards.
  11. I agree but a little bit harsh on butcher. When he was here he wanted the players to commit to something special and stay together but im afraid he left us and doesnt need to show any loyalty to us by not poaching some of our players which he brought signed for us. The fact of the matter is that his job is to make Hibernian better and yes im sure he will marsella looking around the country but it is easier to bring players in that he has worked with before so im afraid this was always a likely scenario. Not happy but whatever happens with Vincent we will always go on and Hughes hasnt got a bad track record for finding a few gems.
  12. I think it is to early to write off our European chances just yet but we need to start winning and quickly. Today was positive and maybe we can start to move forward again as i think Yogi has found a formula that will work while we miss draper and foran. Vincent is starting training again so it wont be long before we see him again and of course if we get Russell Latapy as an assistant it may just help the players add an extra bit of craft and creativity. Net week is big but we shouldn't fear Aberdeen as we showed in our dominant 2nd half display against them before Christmas. Motherwell and Aberdeen are moving ahead a little bit but they haven't been setting the world alight so if we can regain some form it can very quickly change but we must take it one game at a time.
  13. just think at times we lack conviction out wide. Doran took on the full back put in a great cross and Billy was denied by a brilliant save. Watkins to be fair does but williams and greenhalgh i just think need to take on full backs more and put them in. To many times we knock it back or play back into middle, just get the ball run and commit some dfenders
  14. agree with that but i just wonder why graeme shinnie didnt step up. I know he doesnt take that many but he confidently tucked one away in the semi final last year and well it couldnt have been worse than ross's effort. Bit disappointed that we didnt win and we especially given a penalty and i didnt think united created all that much apart from the two efforts off the post. In the end we have dropped 2 points from some sloppy marking at a corner straight after we took the lead.
  15. how many chances do we need
  16. annoyed we aint winning after an early to concede straight away from a set piece is just poor. Early indications looked like we may be in for a rough ride but we certainly got right back into and unlucky not to retake the lead. Looking for the same in the second and hope to see doran a bit further forward where he can be dangerous
  17. we are sitting to deep billy getting isolated again and united always seem to have an option when going forward
  18. poor poor goal
  19. billyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
  20. crowd looks like we may sturggle to get over 3,000
  21. Xmas turkeys meeting Inverness host Dundee United for Yogi’s second home match in the Highland capital for 2014. The first is one that we all want to forget as our neighbours staged a smash and grab raid, robbing us of three points. It was a dismal showing against County and the sending off of Ross Draper combined with the Motherwell game being called off means that Draper misses this clash. Inverness and United fans have been as happy as turkeys at Xmas with their clubs poor points tally over the last few games, giving Aberdeen and Motherwell a bit of a cushion to rest on. Ginger Jaggy has this preview for us.......... This game is crucial for both clubs with Aberdeen’s 1-0 victory over Hibs on Friday night taking them 11 points clear of both teams even though we have 3 games in hand. Also with Motherwell beating basement side Hearts 0-1 on Saturday it leaves us 13 adrift of the last European spot. Yogi is slowly trying to stamp his mark on the team and that could be complete next week with the appointment of an assistant. The UK weather is atrocious at the minute, but Inverness, may see a more tropical Caribbean front with media reports suggesting that former Falkirk player Russell Latapy will add a little spice to our season. Since the defeat to Partick, our home form has gone a little wayward after turning the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium into a fortress in the earlier part of the season. That result had nothing to do with John Hughes but since his arrival all the points have come on the road with three successive home defeats to Aberdeen, Celtic and the 'Shadows'. It is crucial that Inverness start to find their home comforts again especially against a rival top six club. In fact this game begins a crucial run of games with Aberdeen to come next weekend before the little matter of our second league cup semi-final in a row at Easter Road. But first it is the visit of Jackie McNamara’s young charges. Both teams are out of form which means there is no clear winner for this game. Inverness’ chances are further hit by missing Ross Draper with long term absentees Richie Foran and James Vincent still missing. This will lead to more reshuffling in the centre of our midfield. But a little of bit of good news is that Marley Watkins could return after a period on the side-lines with a dead leg. The omens are good for us in this match up so far this season as we hold a 100% record with two wins in league and cup so far. Hopefully that will continue on Sunday lunchtime in front of the Sky cameras (where we don’t have a great record) as we have to start winning again to keep our European dream alive with Motherwell and Aberdeen moving ominously clear. United meanwhile are in a slight flux after a superb run of results in December had seen them rocket up the table. United were playing some stunning football with many of their young guns being linked with big money premier league moves. But a surprisingly heavy 4-1 defeat at St Mirren has ended with the Arabs picking up just one solitary point from four matches over the Festive period. The defeats were also hard for their fans as one was a heavy defeat in the Tayside Derby in Perth. Bragging rights were also sent to Aberdeen after surrendering a 1-0 lead to lose the New Firm derby in front of a sold out Tannadice. The point they did pick up was a battling recovery from 2-0 down to draw with in form Hibs. We have all heard of the young starlets at Tannadice with Ryan Gauld and Andrew Robertson being the stand out players at the moment. But they could be missing some crucial players for tomorrow. Nadir Ciftci will want to forget his last visit to the TCS, and he may have to wait for a chance to redeem himself as he is struggling with a groin injury. At the back Mark Wilson is definitely out and Gavin Gunning is struggling to be fit with a knock on his leg. This may be David Goodwillie's last game before he heads back to Blackburn, but they have replaced him with the loan signing of former Falkirk striker Farid El Alagui, who could make his debut tomorrow. This will be a tricky game with both teams having excellent starts but not having great festive periods. With Aberdeen flying in second place and Motherwell consistently staying in the mix this is crucial for both teams. I would hope it would be an open game with both teams playing attacking football but it may be one of those tight games. So I think it may be decided by the odd goal and I will say that Yogi will finally lift his home hoodoo with a 1-0 win.
  22. just seen that on twitter aswell
  23. Defo another striker now toby has left
  24. Its good to be confident but we cannot underestimate this young hearts team. The major likely hood is they will go down and i feel sorry for there kids as it isn't there fault the club was mismanaged. But with that hanging over them the cup is the last chance they have to salvage something from this nightmare season so they will be well up for it. Hopefully we will be back on our game by then i am confident we can get through
  25. Thanks LG I thought so but I just wanted to check
