  1. Delighted with the result on saturday. Wasnt the best of performances for 65 mins (the pitch didnt help) but the way they grew in confidence after the first goal was very impressive. Ive said it before but its really promising and a good sign when we are getting results when not playing at our best. We were really solid at the back and everyone worked so hard for the victory. I have to agree with pele is god about foran and his attitude though. He does drift in and out of games. He worked hard on saturday but at one point he went in for two tackles, never got the ball and just completely gave up and stopped running. He could do better cos in my opinion he is our best player. Ive got to give a mention to the away support on saturday. I slated the support down at airdrie on a previous thread but i have to say it was brilliant. We turned out in good numbers and everyone got right behind them. I was particularly pleased at full time when a chant of "there's only one terry butcher" was started. He deserved that. He has had a lot of slack from this forum but its clear that he is building a very strong team. He gets my full backing.
  2. Really cant see county staying on to be honest. They are a decent enough team and have done really well so far but with more games to play away, then i can see them falling away. They haven't had a bad spell yet and everyone team has to have one. Im also hoping that their cup run will be a big distraction for them and that they will soon start to drop points. Im hoping that its between us and dundee

  6. A low mood does exist. Your comments have proved that. I dont know why it exists though. Its obvious that the attendances have dropped due to whats happened in the last year and some of the performances this season. But if fans have stopped going due to those reasons then thats fine cos i dont consider them true supporters. As ive said, being a supporter is all about following your team through thick and thin. I understand people cant make every game( including me!) but there has been an alarming fall in the home attendances. I really thought that all those years in the spl, we would have been able to build up a large following but it looks like we are gradually dropping down to our hardcore of about 1500. My point was aimed at our away support though. We have always had a decent sized faithful crowd going down to games and all im saying is that its a bit worrying when those numbers start to drop which they have done recently. Could we not expect a slighty higher percentage to go along? So what would be your solution to your low mood? What are these changes that need to be made that you talk about?
  7. The OP has only stated his disapointment in the amount that travelled to see the team in a very important game but as usual his post has been turned into " I'm a better fan than you " type affair , at no point does he stste that he's more of a fan than anyone else yet the misguided fools on here will twist any post to fit there own agenda , one poster even mentions ultras FFS . The only "fool" on this thread is the one that made the sweeping statements about the dedication of about 95% of our fanbase just because they weren't at a specific game. Has CaleytillIdie made every game this season? (Rhetorical, as I know he hasn't). At no point in his original post, or any posts following did he accept that for many...probably most...it's just not possible for them to do so. For example, every home game I give up a days work to attend (and announce) at the stadium. I lose between ?50 and ?80 in wages as a result (I don't get paid to do the Stadium Announcing...my choice and I'm not complaining, just making the point). When it comes to away games if I was to attend those as well then I'm looking at those lost wages plus another ?50 0r ?60 on ticket, food and travel. I'm not the only one that would fit into that profile and you then have those with kids etc who's costs will be double (or more) what others would be. Factor in that the mood surrounding the club (and as a result the fans) is EXTREMELY low at the moment and even those who could afford it aren't entirely motivated to be making these long (and often pointless this season) journeys. I know people who I would have considered more "die hard" than me who just can't get excited about ICT right now...and it's not only in regards to the league position or quality of football. As I said, the OP made no allowance for any of these points...and I'm sure people will come and try and knock me down for making them...but that is the reality of things right now and if those running the club took a moment to get out there and speak to (as opposed to at) the fans, then they might just start to realise why we're coming apart at the seams. Maybevthey would then stop sitting around in their clique criticising us (the fans) and blaming us for things and realise that they are the only ones with the power to sort things out and start putting a smile back on the faces and start getting people back behind the team and the club like they were 5 or 6 years ago. Some fans also need to make the effort to engage brain before waffling on about things they have clearly given no thought too. If the OP wanted a discussion then why not ask the simple question "How come the attendance at Airdrie was so poor?" He clearly wanted to have a pop instead....and there's little or no value in kicking off a thread in that manner unless you're looking for an argument. At what point did i cast these sweeping statements about 95% of our fanbase? That story about you going to home games brings a tear to my eyes. I can hear the violin in the background. I couldnt care less about your situation. I understand that its a lot of money and fair play for you for doing that but what has that got to do with the point i made. I actually cant believe you used the word pointless. What the hell does that mean?? How is any game pointless at this stage of the season? Its still possible to win the league so what are you talking about? You talk of an extremely low mood well its people like you that are causing this. Being a fan is about getting right behind your team no matter what. I need no motivation for it, nor should you. I would be there whatever the result, no matter what division we were in. After your comments i doubt if you would be. The point i was making was that the crowds are getting lower and lower. Its been happening for years at home and now its beginning to happen away as well. We have averaged 3500-4000 for the last 4 years and i would say that we have a hardcore support of about 1300. Surely out of that we could expect to take more than 60-70 to an important away game. Whats the big deal with saying that? I havent been to every game this season. I have missed a few away games due to work. Im not saying im better than anyone else. Certainly not. I make the effort though and just think there should be more doing the same.
  8. No not at all. As i said i know its a difficult time and i understand that a lot of people cant afford it but are you trying to tell me that we couldnt have got more than the 60-70 odd that were there yesterday? It was a joke
  9. Big win for us yesterday. I was delighted. It was a good performance. Towards the end it was all airdrie but we stayed solid and held on for the win. Every week the defence is getting better and better and it is a good sign when we are grinding out results like we did yesterday
  10. Was really disapointed with the travelling support yesterday. Where the hell was everyone? I know its a difficult time of year and money can be tight but the numbers at yesterdays game was shocking. That was a big game for us at a big time in our season. Surely we could have got a few more there to get behind the team. Those 3 points were crucial and we got a good solid performance from the team. The last couple of away games, the numbers have been getting less and less and it is quite worrying. No doubt you will all be out for the kilmarnock game though cos its a bigger team. That would be typical of our support

  12. I also thought that, it wasn't just us that thought that though, Billy stark had him down as one of the best younsters in scotland in the paper a couple of months back. it is clear that we only play players that are on a wage at this club. If he was that good then surely there would have been bigger teams in for him when we released him. Not that big a loss for me and cant see him going onto bigger and better things
  13. Dundee have yet to have a bad spell in this league. Every team has one. The 3 games against us, i really dont think they have been anything special. We outplayed them and should have beaten them all 3 times. They just look like a team that can grind out results. They cant keep that form up. On the other hand, we've had our bad spell. I firmly believe that we can put a long run of wins together and that this league will be a lot closer than everyone thinks. Its definately still on

  15. Yeah he should be because of his timing. Why did he leave it till then? He must of been thinking about that decision long before it but he decided to do it a couple of games into the season. Surely it would of been better making that decision before the season starts so a new manager can come in and make signings of his own. That would have been better for the club he supposedly loves. Im surprised the centenary club job hasn't got too much for him.
  16. Mainly because we might be able to afford him! Budgets will be cut in future, determining that we have to go for a less expensive option as manager. Charlie fits the bill. He also has first hand knowledge of up and coming youth prospects and, with the current financial restrictions, wouldn't be discouraged from including home grown talent in the first team. Charlie's record stands up against others who have gone before and after. Remember the victorty at Iprix? So the fact that he binned us when apparently the pressure got to much for him doesnt matter does it? He had a good record i agree, and we played some good stuff under him but i lost all respect for him with the way he left us. He should never get another chance.
  17. Why the hell is everyone wanting charlie back? Butcher all the way

  24. That change had to be made. Dundee had just equalised and were rampant at that point. Dundee had changed from a 4-4-2 to a 4-3-3 and it was clearly obvious something had to be done to combat that. We needed someone in the middle trying to break things up. Thats why cox was brought on.
  25. I really dont think he did anything wrong. They were obviously told to expect an onslaught by dundee and to be solid and stay strong for the 1st 15 mins. They failed to do that and the substitution of sanchez for cox was understandable at a time when dundee were swarming all over us. I agree that he could have made changes after the third was scored rather than leave it til the end but apart from that i wouldnt fault butcher. I thought he set the team up well but there isnt much a manager can do when it looks like the players dont have the bottle for a fight when things start going against them.
