  1. 6 ft 3 striker, 19 goals in 34 games according to wikipedia, all at a fairly low level but impressive stats all the same.
  2. I grew up reading Enid Blyton books, so I'm delighted that we are housed in the stand that Hibs rather surprisingly named after her most celebrated series, the Famous Five. Who'd have thought that Leith folk would have been moved to pay such a tribute by those boarding school kids and their summer holiday adventures. Hopefully we'll have plenty of jolly japes, ending of course with lashings of ginger ale.
  3. If you want free parking for the weekend, the place I always park for games at Hibs is only a 10 minute walk from your hotel: go down Leith Walk and take a left at Scotmid onto Pilrig St.
  4. BBC Gossip section: "Peterborough director of football Barry Fry has admitted defeat in his quest to sign St Johnstone striker Stevie May and Inverness CT marksman Billy McKay." (Mail) Can't find the article online, so I don't know if they have had a bit rejected, or just cooled their interest after seeing Billy's poor finishing on Saturday. Just 1 goal from his last 6 games means his value has undoubtedly dropped since this poll was started, either that or Billyhas been trying to deter bids cos he wants to stay, and will revert to previous scoring form this weekend after the window shuts.
  5. How would fans feel in the unlikely event that he came back to ICT?

    ICTFC U20s

I'd imagine that these are the guys who haven't been selected for the squad for Sunday, with Hughes not wishing to risk any injury to the 16 he has in mind.
  7. Nothing special at all. Had a bit of pace perhaps? Hard to believe he's still only 24, he seems to have been around forever. Onto his 8th club now (including loans) and ICT is the only spell that appears to have been successful. One thing I've learnt is that his new club Sligo are known as the "Bit o' Red". An interesting nickname, and one which Invernessians could have borrowed back in 1994......
  8. I see RTE have since amended that article to remove any reference to Kenya, after comments pointing out the error.
  9. Even with Hearts about to sell Adam King to Swansea (£150,000+ after only 2 appearances?!) BBC confirm that they can't sign Skacel (or whoever) until Monday. But when one loophole closes, another one opens: "Hearts are also exploring the possibility of bringing in an Under-21 player by removing goalkeeping coach Alan Combe's registration as a squad member. The SFA embargo does not apply to players under the age of 21, so that could happen before the weekend, if the SPFL rule favourably on any approach."
  10. I just don't think there is much justification for us to be talked up as favourites for this one. There's a lot to be nervous about. Strangely, I'd be much happier if we were facing the likes of Aberdeen or Motherwell (and not just because the game wouldn't be getting played in their home city!).
  11. 2pm at Airdrie's stadium. http://spfl.co.uk/reserve-and-youth/
  12. Don't read this then! As I mentioned elsewhere, based on form since the teams last met, this is a battle between the 2 worst teams in the league - both have just 5 points from their last 7 games. (Although Dundee Utd could actually go bottom of that particular form table if they don't win tonight, which is quite surprising for a team supposedly full of multi-million pound talent.)
  13. Yes but who updates Wikipedia?
  14. Putting aside team selections, how are people feeling about this game? Last year's was a great occassion, an afternoon of highs and lows, much more than I ever feel in a league match. This time, I'm concerned about the fact that people will expect us to win, overlooking the form book (as well as Hearts having home advantage). Both sides have been having a pretty torrid time in the league and are showing relegation form. It's pretty scary that the recent records are in fact identical: from the last 7 games, just 1 win, 2 draws and 4 defeats. The sides are currently as bad as each other. Gonna be close, me thinks. But bring it on, can't wait.
  15. That's 7 out of 7 now. It's a strange one, as you wouldn't associate our team with being quitters at all. It's not coincidence though that most of those have occurred without the team's leader and biggest fighter.
  16. This season we haven't so much as scraped a draw after conceding the first goal. Time to go and do something else this afternoon?
  17. Yes, this recent article in the Hereford Times says he is Tanzanian and still hopes to get called up by his country. http://www.herefordtimes.com/sport/local/10757042.Eric_Odhiambo_eyes_starting_place_at_Hereford_United/
  18. The plot thickens. I've found full team listings from the Iran game in question, and there was nobody in the squad called Odhiambo. http://uk.soccerway.com/matches/2009/03/14/world/friendlies/iran/kenya/761810/
  19. Wouldn't surprise me. I mentioned earlier that our Eric wasn't in ICT's matchday squad that day, but looking back he was subbed off in the first half of our previous game, so might just have been missing due to injury. Edit to add: this supposed cap only got added to his Wikipedia page on 13th October 2013, more than 4 years after the event.
  20. It's a strange one, as I don't recall us knowing anything about it at the time. But it appears he played in a defeat in Iran in March 2009. He certainly wasn't in ICT's matchday squad that weekend. There's also an Eric Odhiambo who plays cricket for Kenya, and was in the team that beat Scotland recently.
  21. Welcome on board, Russell. If Trinidad & Tobago are known as the Socca Warriors, can ICT be the Kessocca Warriors?
  22. Was it Arsenal that tried that approach a few years ago? Biggest penalty fail of all time!
  23. Only this week Vincent said: "the main focus is just to get back on the pitch, get playing and once that settles down then sort out my contract situation. For me it’s just all about playing again and getting back in the starting line-up. It’s always nice to be linked with other clubs, but I just want to focus on getting back on the pitch."
  24. 1 goal from 12 games - I don't think Cluj will be difficult to deal with.
  25. The legend! He's 35 now and Saints will be the 17th club he's played for.
