  1. Got to laugh at the subtitles - the bad challenge on Billy early on is transcribed as "a late lunch"
  2. Just noticed that our next league match is against Hearts!
  3. There's also the task of sourcing enough buses and arranging venues for pre-match refreshement - we'll be in competition with Aberdeen in those respects too.
  4. That's a very good point. Whilst part of me wondered that by taking it to ET with 9 men we might end up with the final score showing as 4 or 5-2 instead of 2-1, the way our players celebrated the equaliser showed that they weren't thinking that way at all. I also wonder if, having rescheduled their St Mirren game to get Stevenson available for the semi, Hearts got their comeuppance in extra time with more fatigue than they should have had.

Agree with all of that. I was rather dubious when I saw that he was our last throw of the dice on 88 mins, but we rolled a double six and it was definitely his finest hour.
  6. Would they have been saving him to net the decisive 5th one?
  7. I notice that Hearts won 2 of their previous league cup ties on penalties, so they weren't short on practice of real life shoot-outs.
  8. For me it was Ross who hit the best one, and a massive improvement on his previous weak effort. Would prefer seeing Tansey as our designated penalty taker though, if he keeps his place in the team.
  9. Reminds me of the film Zulu. Our vastly outnumbered troops repel attack after attack, and then the natives approach one more time but this time to honour the bravery of the defending forces. Could only have been better if we'd sang Men of Harlech!
  10. Haven't seen any papers yet, so what are today's back page headlines? Do we get a mention or is it all about Lennon? Noticed on BBC Gossip : Hearts goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald is furious that referee John Beaton did not penalise Caley Thistle for a handball in the build up to their stoppage-time equaliser in a dramatic Easter Road semi-final. (Daily Record) Yes the ball hit off Doran's hand but it clearly wasn't deliberate.
  11. "The New Ngoo" wasn't a problem for us at all, and in the end made a valuation contribution to our success!
  12. When I went to the Four in Hand (now rebranded as "The IV") I noticed the board outside listing today's televised matches had an interesting take on our opponents.
  13. Hughes post-match talking about suspensions: "We can adjust. I've got a very, very influential skipper saying to me he can play centre-half in that final."
  14. Ironically, we would almost certainly have lost had Meekings not been so rash. Nothing that happened after that point would have happened otherwise.
  15. Has anyone been over to see how the Hearts fans are feeling? I'm guessing that winning v 10 men on 90 minutes, and then having another 30 minutes to brush aside 9 men, they might be somewhat disappointed.
  16. Parkhead too big, Easter Rd too small. Has to be Ibrox. Suggestions that we'll take 8-15,000 though? 5,000 tops, I would reckon. This isn't THE cup final, attracting thousands of neutrals, nor does it have the lure of Hampden.
  17. And given that a proportion of the Hearts fans only went cos it was being played in their own back yard, even McDiarmid would have been adequate!
  18. The result was never in doubt.
  19. If things are going well, how do we complete the traditional song? Que sera sera Whatever will be will be We're going to...TBC Que sera sera
  20. Relax, we can always turn to Gary Goals.
  21. Said something like not tomorrow but maybe 1 or 2 free agents next week! Strikers currently available as free agents include Nacho Novo, Torbjorn Agdestein, Graham Bayne and Mo Bangura. Take your pick.
  22. Fruity sounds good to me, got to get my 5 a day!
  23. And they've done it with fewer South Africans than England have!
  24. Eurosport make this brief but hopefully accurate statement: Inverness have held on to top goalscorer Billy McKay for another few months after manager John Hughes confirmed no-one else would leave the club before the window closed.
  25. Foran is on Radio Scotland, who are doing a preview of both semis just now.
