  1. Agreed. I found myself at a club rugby match that afternoon. Heard it was 1-1 at HT and was thinking that's good, we'll settle for a point here. At FT I was in the bar and someone got the final scores on their phone and said to me "Hmmm. Kilmarnock 3....." [heart sinks] .....Inverness 6! [jumps for joy and hugs strangers]. Made it home in time to watch the rerun on Alba with some more beers. Happy times.
  2. Most of us would describe this as a season to forget. But if you were writing a book on ICT, whilst 2011/12 might be the shortest chapter, what games or events would be worthy of a mention? For example, Hayes squaring up to Foran at Dunfermline and them both getting a yellow for it.
  3. One thing to note is that in terms of goals per game, Andrew Shinnie was twice as profilic as Hayes or Tade. How we missed him. Steve Williams 2 from 6 starts is pretty decent too. Play them both for a full season and you might get 16 and 12 goals respectively! Play Mackay for a full season and relegation is a 100% cert.

It's good that he's in Iceland because it gives ICT fans some interest in football over the summer. Especially as, for the first time in 8 years, there is no ICT player at the Euros!
  5. Ever wondered who Terry's favourite player is? Or who picked up the most yellows? Or who didn't score enough goals? The answers are all here. ;-) Name Started Sub (on) Goals Yellows Reds 1. And yet we still get the same outrage every year. It's an emotive subject because your talking about shattering lads' dreams, and I guess it's likely that some of our forum members are friends/relatives of the players in question too.
  7. Capped by Berti Vogts, which means it doesn't count. He came on as a sub against Hong Kong, in a team full of Scotland legends like Gareth Williams, Robbie Stockdale, Lee Wilkie, Steven Thompson and Scott Dobie.
  8. christ would be a great signing now if he got a cruciate injury perhaps it would only be a case of 3 day to recover But like many footballers, he's just not as good as his father.
  9. Proctor and Tokely are the only survivors of the 2003/4 promotion winning team and Proc is perhaps best remembered for stepping in for the vital victory at Broadwood near the end of that season, when Tokely was unavailable. He conceded an unfortunate penalty that day but otherwise defended solidly. I think he has over 150 appearances for over his 8 seasons with the club, and would have had more if he hadn't followed Brewster in what turned out to be a disasterous spell for both of them at Dundee Utd. But we reportedly got £35,000 for him then got him back for free the following summer, cheers. Any favourite Proctor moments?
  10. You can say a lot about Proctor (and most of us have) but the very best of luck to him, he always tried hard for us. If, as has been rumoured, he ends up at County, I hope he becomes a first team regular.
  11. Hearing on the radio this morning about all the City fans who left a few minutes before the end. When they realised their mistake, they tried to get back into the ground but weren't allowed.

One thing to add is that the number of goals we scored also dropped sharply : 1.36 per game for the first 14 games, then just 0.95 for the next 24 matches. So perhaps we just put more emphasis on not conceding?
  13. I enjoyed Terry's post match comment about Tansey's free kick: "He's been threatening to do that for 37 games!"
  14. For a brief instant he got me with the County comment! :aghast: But that's still a farewell message, sadly.
  15. I disagree. What ICT did with the stadium was just a "sale and leaseback" arrangement which is pretty common in sport and business in general. We sold our only real asset to avoid getting into administration. Nobody seems to have asked Rangers why they didn't do the same to avoid this mess. They could have got tens of millions by selling Ibrox to a property/investment business and then renting it back, having wiped out their debts with the proceeds. Instead they chose to shaft the creditors and will somehow come out of this with their main asset intact.
  16. Indeed, all our previous wins in this league campaign were by just 1 goal, with the exception of the Rugby Park goalfest.

Thought I'd revive this old thread and show the progress that was made with our defending. In our first 14 games, at the time the thread was started, we conceded an average of 2.0 goals per game. In the next 24 games we only conceded 1.33 on average, helped by ending the season with 3 consecutive clean sheets. But what exactly brought about the dramatic improvement? Our overall season average of 1.58 is still higher than the team relegated in each of the 3 previous seasons. Unsurprisingly this year's relegated team Dunfermline have the season's worst defensive record with an average of 2.16 conceded. That's Gretna-esque! Many thanks again to Chris Smith for his enormous contribution to ICT's season.
  18. Baffled as to how anyone can find fault with the club on this one. They've told Tokely they want him to stay, the ball's in his court and he hasn't made his mind up yet. Why should the club be commemorating his departure today?

And just like the BGT panel, one is a very camp comedian, one is a reknowned dancer and one used to sh*g Les Dennis.
  20. Mission accomplished on all 5 matters.
  21. Debut August 1996 v Clyde according to the ICT official site.
  22. for Richie, for poorer......
  23. Previous winners of Scottish football's most prestigious honour: 2000/01 Bobby Mann 2001/02 Barry Robson 2002/03 Stuart Golabek 2003/04 Liam Keogh 2004/05 Ross Tokely 2005/06 Craig Dargo 2006/07 Barry Wilson 2007/08 Don Cowie 2008/09 Ian Black 2009/10 Jonny Hayes 2010/11 Ryan Esson What a team you could make out of that.
  24. To me this has been a season where there has been no real stand out player for us. But Golio deserves the honour at least as much as anyone else, so well done to him, and I'll be delighted if he somehow ends up back with us next season.
  25. Must be the worst weather you've ever had for one of these walks. Well done to all involved.
