  1. Or a smaller squad perhaps.
  2. From BBC: "after hearing the message from Rangers supporters and fans loud and clear ("Yank go home!"), I notified the administrators today that I have withdrawn my bid for Rangers" Some ignorant Rangers fans may have brought about their club's liquidation!
  3. Some rather more trivial matters at stake in ICT v Hibs. A win would make our home points tally greater than our away points. If we score we won't be the lowest scoring home team in the SPL, Hibs will be. A draw is needed to match our worst ever points tally (relegation 2008/09), a win takes us above it. A draw or better is needed to avoid our worst ever goal difference. If we don't win, we'll have failed to get a single win from 8 matches against the SPL's bottom two teams. Stick this on yer dressing room wall Terry.
  4. According to BBC our GD is currently 5 better than Hibs meaning need at least a 3-0 win to overtake us.
  5. Even Motherwell, with the income boost from being 3rd in the league and in Champions League qualifying, are having to make big cuts.
  6. Noting that a few people have voted today in the 2011/12 relegation poll, I should perhaps clarify that this is a year old thread that has been revided to see how accurate our predictions were!
  7. I had a recollection that we did a poll like this before the season started. Well done to all 68 voters who correctly predicted that ICT would stay up, and to the 11 who tipped the Pars for the drop. 3 league goals says it all, and he finds himself relegated again. ICT went down in 2009 because we placed too much faith in a striker who was unproven at SPL level. Dunfermline were the greater fools because he was proven to be rubbish by the time they signed him. Let's hope County re-sign him to add more 'SPL experience' to their squad.
  8. I note that the organisers didn't allocate that one to Tade and Meekings.
  9. Does anybody NOT want the Dunfermline to win this one? Would be great to have a dramatic last day of the season, with a meaningful game at TCS and a big Hibs away support. And I'd rather the Pars stayed up because they will be relegation favourites next season, whereas Hibs have the resources to get their act together and be top 6 contenders. And then there's the bridies.
  10. 1-0

When looking through our recent results I noticed that the 4 league games we have won in 2012 have each been 1-0. In fact in the 7 games in 2012 where we scored just 1 goal, there was only one defeat and that was against Rangers. The odd thing is that when we scored more than 1, we lost. Goals scored per game, and the outcome: 1 (Won) 1 (Won) 0 (Drew) 0 (Lost) 1 (Drew) 1 (Lost) 0 (Lost) 1 (Drew) 1 (Won) 0 (Lost) 2 (Lost) 0 (Draw) 0 (Lost) 3 (Lost) 0 (Drew) 1 (Won) I have no idea what can be concluded from this. We don't score many goals, and when we do, we lose? I have too much time on my hands?
  11. I think it means that Jonny's agent has been conducting the negotiations with Aberdeen.
  12. Could be worse, St J's star man Sandaza just got a lengthy ban for driving while p1shed. The police initially just had a word with him for driving the wrong way down a one way street, but when they watched him drive off they realised there was more to it than that.
  13. Perhaps "Phoenix" would be more appropriate.
  14. Oh yes. That was the first ICT goal I saw in the flesh. Memorable day out. After a few years living outside Scotland, and 15 years away from Inverness, it was brilliant to be surrounded by all those Sneckie accents.
  15. Age discrimination in season ticket pricing is curious in this day and age. It takes no account of ability to pay, and I'm kind of surprised it's still legal in an era where employers can no longer force people to retire when they reach 65. Pensioners are generally the wealthiest people I know, helped by having no mortgage, no kids etc. I'm not calling for the pensioners discount to be abolished, I just wonder what the justification is for having it.
  16. I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing Tokely next season, I just don't know if it will be every week or just on derby days.....
  17. Tansey has been a bit of a disappointment to me, especially his lack of goal threat. He is a capable player and I'm happy for him to stay but we really need him to make a greater impact.
  18. A few people have mentioned recently that Mackay would be good if only he had the right strike partner, but the reality is that we only play one up front and there's no sign of that tactic changing. If Mackay is our lone striker next season we aren't going to score many goals.
  19. OK, so Hayes, Tade, Esson, Mackay and Tansey are being offered new contracts. But what about anyone not on that list? Has he started off with the players he sees as key and is less bothered about the others? Or are they not getting offers at all?
  20. There's a place for Mackay in the squad, but we need a much better first choice striker if we are going to do anything next season.
  21. So you're embarrased by our support but not by your posts on this thread?
  22. All very true Libero. From a player's perspective, if the money is equal, County have the appeal of being a team on the up, whereas we might be perceived as being on the slide. But we have the track record of being a more established and credible SPL club. And due to Terry Butcher's profile and connections, we should be better placed to recruit players from England - good and bad!

Not enough wins, too many defeats. Watching your team win is more appealing than watching them lose, and this is our worst season ever in terms of results. General decline in football attendances due to drop in disposable incomes and increased travel costs. Visiting fan numbers will be down too. Lack of quality football and entertainment at TCS. I would ordinarily expect next season's season ticket sales and average crowd to drop significantly due to our recent poor form, but the attraction of derbies will limit the damage (assuming we stay up).
