  1. Fantastic end to the game, with mucho jubilation on the pitch and in our stand. But even before Pepper popped up at the back post, the players had already earned a tremendous ovation for their 2nd half performance. Great spirit and neat passing football.

Aye, but hitting Edinburgh tonight so may be a bit delicate. Quickly getting back on topic, I look forward to seeing Mackay get a goal or two, and to me seeing an ICT win for the first time in about 15 games.

I'm surprised that Mantis missed an opportunity to suggest that we get Helmut Schoen out of retirement.

Whilst I think we have the makings of a pretty solid team, the absence of a proven striker remains a major concern. Hopefully someone will step up to the mark, but I was struck by the credible striking options that a comparable club, St Johnstone, have. Rowan Vine - the subject of a £3 million transfer to Birmingham a few years ago Craig Beattie - perhaps past his best but still only 28. Respected for turning down Rangers to join St Johnstone! Nigel Hasselbaink - did well for St Mirren last year but they couldn't afford to match St J's offer Gregory Tade - ICT's top scorer last season Stevie May - teenager who scored 19 goals in a half season loan at Alloa Sean Higgins - sorry, I said credible They probably have 4 strikers who would get a start ahead of our best option, Mackay. Everybody is desparate for a reliable goal scorer - Killie have Heffernan, Hibs have just signed Shefki Kuqi to partner Griffiths whilst County are currently trying to sign Derek Riordan. At the moment I feel like I'm standing at the SPL urinal peering enviously along the line - and with some of the names I've mentioned it certainly seems that our rivals might have bigger ****s than us.....
  5. And yet just a few years ago it was the cheapest - I'm pretty sure it was £16 when £20 was the norm.

...or that it related to a match played in Eastern Europe!

Anyone reading "Black gets a booing" would just assume there was a missing "k".
  8. 6 gold medals were won for team GB by athletes born outside the UK. Yes, I was already wondering whether our 2012 Sports Personality of the Year will be the Belgian/Australian cyclist or the Somali runner! I'd go for the former.

And I see from the end credits that Pat Crerand was the show's "football advisor".
  10. I agree - but I can't get away from my imagination's depiction of Glasgow 2014 as the "Burnistoun Olympics"!

Got even more respect for Sid when I learnt that he was the writer of "Jossy's Giants"!
  12. Looks like Graeme came on after 60 minutes for Hanlon, in a 0-1 defeat.
  13. If you interpret the question as asking whether we are better than at the same stage last year, then we are surely much improved. As a reminder, last year started 0-3 v Motherwell and 0-1 at home to Hibs. If you mean are we playing better than when we got fully up and running last season, then no, but you wouldn't expect us to be after just 2 games.

Good to see another ex-ICT player get a call up to the full Scotland squad. Never happened when he was great for us, never happened when he was great for Hearts, but a couple of good performances for a 3rd division side in draws against Brechin and Peterhead and suddenly he's in!
  15. According to commentators Tokely was getting skinned all afternoon at Pittodrie and could only stop his man by fouling.

His commentary could be more entertaining than the darts itself. Favourite lines? I particularly liked: "He's not Adonis, he's THE donis!"
  17. Just out of interest, did you think the same about Tokely in any of his stupid red card thuggery incidents?
  18. My missus used to get Dundee Utd's monthly "Tangerine & Black" magazine until I put a stop to it. It was something like £4 a month, mailed out to fans with the money taken by direct debit. Subscription is the way to do it, mailshotting everyone on the database with a letter and DD form.
  19. Numerous exciting initiatives which are to be applauded. Hopefully the fans will respond in the desired fashion.
  20. Was it Greg Tansey retrieving one of his free kicks?
  21. I'm just recalling our last trip there in 2008, which was also in the 2nd round of this tournament. Beer and rum in a harbourside tavern with Mantis and Naelifts, followed by a proper fish supper, then a walk up to the game full of confidence and expectation. Ended up a 2-2 draw (Vigurs and Wood) on the same night I first saw Djebi-Zadi put a simple short pass 30 yards out for a throw in. We won on penalties, but later got knocked out by Falkirk, and then got relegated at the end of the same season.
  22. Woo hoo! My favourite away day. Even better now that they have the hero Paul Sheerin and villains Brian Kerr and TONY BULLOCK in their squad. Bring it on.

Well if burkas are allowed, why not balaclavas?!

Getting back to the Olympics, its kind of surprising that Team GB is relatively poor in shooting events. Can we not draw upon the vast expertise in our armed forces? Or police marksmen? Or failing that, there are plenty of Londoners who are a bit handy with a shooter - but perhaps they've already got enough gold around their necks.
  25. I thought it was an angry James Corden myself. Anyway, with Utd facing UEFA charges over their failure to control the crowd, this can't be good news for fans like us. Utd will be under so much scrutiny this season that the stewards will be forced to be even more rigorous than they always have been. The worst away ground for stewarding looks like it could get worse, if that is possible.
