  1. Hardly a surprise, but disappointing all the same.
  2. Hearts will not go bust altogether, no way, but they might end up in administration. Rangers are far more likely to go into administration, and this is when the likely punishment gets interesting. Dundee were the last Scottish club to meet that fate, and only got a 25 point penalty, so I suppose that is the starting point. The powers that be then have to consider that if Hearts go first, they would pretty much have to apply the same punishment to Rangers if they go next. Rightly or wrongly, there is a belief that "Scottish football needs Rangers" and needs them to be strong and successful, so I wouldn't be surprised if they got a sympathetic hearing, blaming it all on the previous owner, and get a penalty that might cost them the title, but still guarantees Rangers a European place. So with that in mind, Hearts may well get away with less than a 25 point penalty, and having plenty of Edinburgh businessmen to step in, they would still be able to put together a team with a much bigger wage bill than us or Dunfermline and would therefore avoid relegation, particularly with the head start they currently have in the league table.

Photographic evidence! Good to see Commons having a laugh about it, and the whole rumour just seemed too good to be true, but Mjallby's denial is one which makes suggests something probably did happen. "I've not seen any bust-ups," as opposed to "There was no bust-up" "They're too nice for that, our players." Aye, but what about the manager?
  4. Just to clarify, I mean clean sheets on the pitch - although I do find that Richie's bedding doesn't get changed often enough, and Gregory's pillow cases have a funny taste....
  5. Now if the team could keep clean sheets for a month......
  6. Yngwie replied to Bronson's topic in General Football
This story could only be better if it turns out there was actually no contact and the player was just faking....
  7. And furthermore, if the appeals panel have seen much of us this season, they'll know that an attacker getting the ball anywhere in our half is very much a goalscoring opportunity.
  8. Good images Scotty. If the first one is deemed to be the moment when the foul started by holding him back, the decision is unlikely to be overturned. Incidentally I don't think there is such a thing as "last man" in the rules, its all about clear goalscoring opportunity.
  9. Yesterday's match report - uncanny!
  10. If we hadn't concede late equalisers to Dunfermline in both our matches against them this season, we'd be joint 6th. If if if.
  11. Despite the Pars getting as late equaliser, sounds like it was us who nicked a point. Oh dear.
  12. Interesting thought Gabby. You might well be right because history shows that in the days before professional sport, our jails were so full that we had to ship our convicts over to Australia And they do seem to have possessed better sporting genes than the average Brit!
  13. I take it you've never seen Davis play?

Perhaps he never actually existed, and it was all just a dream......

Is that just Wiki or do you know something? Anyway, someone who has been out of football for so long is a free agent in pretty much the same way that I am or you are.

Similarly, whatever happened to Lionel? Almost 18 months since he left us and I can't find a single reference to him playing anywhere except in Football Manager. Even if he's non-league back in France, these clubs still have websites so you'd think he's appear in a search. He's either changed his name to make a fresh start, or preferred working at Eurodisney and has quit football altogether.

His main job these days is delivering bouquets of flowers! But yes, he has consistently been very successful since leaving ICT. Ayr Utd first(more than doubling his wages apparently), Aberdeen, St Johnstone where he is a club legend, and then a decent start to his managerial career.

He had actually dropped further than that, down to Amateurs for a season, before getting into Juniors.
  19. More importantly, does anyone know why they are called "bounce" matches?

It's a nice idea but I certainly wouldn't advise him to take a backward step like that. He'll want to fight to reclaim his place at B'ham and if that doesn't work and he is loaned out, there will be plenty of interested clubs in England. He has nothing further to prove by scoring more goals for ICT, whereas he has a lot to lose if he doesn't reproduce that form.

    Really?
  22. Would this be a good time to point out that Montenegro aren't even in our group?
  23. That's great Alex we'll be able to play number plate games rather than endure the match. A bit like train spotting at Raith, but without the waiting
  24. At McDiarmid on Saturday, whilst averting my eyes from what was happening on the pitch, I spotted a couple of things that you wouldn't expect to see at an SPL ground. 1) A bird table (in the corner between ourselves and the empty North Stand) 2) An advertising hoarding for the Scottish Conservatives What quirky things have you come across at away grounds?
