  1. I'm sure I heard on the radio that members of the public can refer incidents to the SFA's compliance officer for review. Anyone know how?
  2. Delighted to hear he's staying. And yet just a few weeks ago I wouldn't have been bothered. I'd like to think Owngolobart has benefited from good coaching from a couple of top class defenders to help cut out the cavalier stuff from his game.
  3. Great stuff IHE - but not for the first time, the Jaggies are complaining that Urquhart wasn't properly registered!

The only good thing about this postponement is that Saints probably won't have Sandaza when the game eventually takes place. Hopefully we won't have lost any of our top players by then.
  5. From Hong Kong. Possibly the best own goal I've ever seen.
  6. It's a shocker, and the refs failure to do anything about it is fairly typical of the luck we've had with big decisions. Not only have we had no penalties this season, we've never had a numerical advantage over any of our opponents. The only player to get sent off against us was against Rangers (Edu?) late on when we were already down to 10 men. My proposed solution for this particular injustice is that next time we play Hibs they have to remove a player from the field after 32 minutes. I was then wondering who decides which player gets taken off and came up with the idea that the fans in the stadium vote by text, £1 a go, and the money raised is used to fly in decent refs from Luxembourg etc.
  7. Brilliant run and finish. Now, strictly speaking he should really have rolled it to Tade who was in loads of space and would have had a simple finish. But even without the befeit of hindsight I think we all know he made the right choice!
  8. Watching now on Alba, looks like O'Hanlon should have had a straight red for that studs up assault on Foran's shin. Ref didn't even give a foul.
  9. Better result for us than for Hibs. Won me a few bob as well.
  10. Interestingly both of our goals were easily prevented if Aberdeen had put men on the posts at corners.
  11. 12 Jelavic Rangers 11 Hooper Celtic 9 Daly Dundee Utd 9 Naismith Rangers 8 Stokes Celtic 8 Vernon Aberdeen 7 Heffernan Kilmarnock 7 Higdon Motherwell 7 O'Connor Hibernian 7 Sandaza St Johnstone 7 Shinnie Inverness CT 7 Tade Inverness CT 6 Lafferty Rangers 6 Murphy Motherwell 6 Shiels Kilmarnock Two of our players in the top 10. And if you excluding the Old Firm, only 2 players have scored more than Tade or Shinnie. I'd say that is pretty satisfactory.
  12. Special festive greeting for IHE - don't let the bells end!
  13. That'll be why we never saw any of his runs today....
  14. Yes, it's going to be the best Christmas EVER!
  15. This would be a very good time to keep our first clean sheet of the season.
  16. Nah, Vixen's more of a 'fox in the box'

  18. Big story in Dutch football. It's not just Scottish football that has crazy and controversial incidents Was the keeper justified in attacking the fan? Was the ref right to send the keeper off? Was the coach right to take his players off and cause the match to be abandoned?
  19. Bad news Scotty, that's your lawyer in the Santa suit!

I think you're onto something there! Better still, those restraints that come down over your head like you get on rollercoasters and fairground rides. They would be activated at 3pm and released only at half time and full time, ensuring full compliance with current no-standing rules.

That's the answer I expected, but personally I've never seen any sort of surge in a seated area and I've never been tempted to do so due to the likelihood of falling flat on my face. In fact, in the thousands of games there have been in the UK where fans stand throughout the game, how many deaths have there been as a result? And yet when I get on public transport, I often find myself having to stand in a fast moving vehicle without any form of restraint or barrier, an instant away from certain death.

I think I know the answer to this, but is it not possible for existing seating to be left in place and simply designated as a standing area so that people can stand if they want to without getting chucked out?

I would be surprised if its as clear cut as Boyd makes out. The club doesn't seem short of money, and there's no suggestion of any other players not getting paid during that time. Looking at a fans website (translated) the suggestion is that he got paid 6 monthly in advance. Boyd's agent seems to be saying that payment was a signing on fee not upfront wages. I think this will come down to a dispute over contract interpretation - or possible even translation!

For me the real topic here is just how incredibly poorly Scottish international players travel. Over the last 10 years has anyone made a success of an overseas move? The likes of Boyd, Riordan and O'Connor have all done well in the UK and earned lucrative overseas moves, and barely kicked a ball once they got there and can't wait to come home with their tails between their legs. "Failed to settle" is the 100% predictable outcome in all of these cases. Very different from the days of Jordan, Souness and Archibald, and in a later era we at least had Mo Jo, Collins, Lambert and even Brewster. There are plenty of Scottish successes in England where the culture and language are (just about) the same as ours, but as soon as they cross the channel, our boys just can't seem to hack it. There can't be a serious footballing nation in the world that has fewer succesful exports to Europe/Asia.
