  1. Many congrats to you both. Can't you just feel the love on this website?! Who'll be next?
  2. Sophia, I would hazard a guess, is reference to the Greek word for "wisdom" rather than the poster's name. Or could it be the Sophia in philosophy/religion? "A Feminine figure, analogous to the human soul but also simultaneously one of the Feminine aspects of God and the Bride of Christ, she is considered to have fallen from grace in some way, in so doing creating or helping to create the material world. In Gnostic tradition, the term Sophia refers to the final and lowest emanation of God." This might explain a few things. But I'm sure Sophia will be along soon enough to enlighten us.......as usual! :004:
  3. Excuse me, I AM him. I just choose not to flaunt my "celebrity fan" status. :music05:
  4. Interesting way of announcing it! No real surprise though.
  5. SMEE, what Scotty actually said was : which does not cast any aspersions at all on the people who had legitimate posts removed. The rules of this forum do not tolerate racism, and anyone who has spent any time at all here knows that this is strictly enforced. At this stage I should also remind people of the rule against "back seat moderating".
  6. There was a time when I'd be at a gig like that right down the front, jumping up and down throughout. Last night I managed about 3 jumps and then thought "Ooh, ma knees!" :029:
  7. Great gig, RiG. Manics played a few variations from that set list tonight. We didn't get Enola or Rendition, but did get Kevin Carter and Suicide is Painless. And "Masses..." was certainly not acoustic! They have improved with age, helped by a tremendous songbook to draw upon. Just worked out that it's 17 years since I first saw them live (yes I'm gonna be one of those "I saw them before they were famous" bores!). Mind you they had some bloke called Ritchie in the band back then , whatever happened to him?!
  8. I think Burnley paid St J something approaching ?200k to get him. Given that he has taken his team several steps backwards this season and pretty much eliminated them from the title race already, that's a good bit of business for Saints. Good to see him doing well though, he's one of the guys we all respected, even when he was banging in goals against us with annoying regularity.
  9. At games, if we are performing badly, I express my dissatisfaction through silence. I've never once booed our team or shouted "you're rubbish" (or any other such adjective) to any ICT player, even when I'm thinking it. I do however think that people who choose to put themselves in the public eye (be it politicians, footballers, actors, company directors) know that their performances are going to be subject to harsh scrutiny, and are perhaps not suited to their job if they can't take it. Sticks and stones.......
  10. It's a fair subject to discuss. Other threads were in reference to specific incidents and players, and got bogged down in detail rather than the issue of a supporter's right to express their views, or otherwise. Let's distinguish between 3 forms of criticism. 1) You think it. 2) You express it to your pals at the game, or in the pub, or on here. 3) You express it directly to the player in question. I know where I draw the line, but I would defend the right of any paying customer to do 3) if that's what they want to do.
  11. Well I hope they have something left for Edinburgh tomorrow night!
  12. Was hearing that this one's a late call off due to a failed fitness test. Nae luck if you travelled to it.
  13. His overall contribution so far has not been bad, but it certainly doesn't merit him earning more than the rest of our first team. Not great value for money so far, and I get less and less confident that he ever will be. But we've got him, and he's got a binding contract!
  14. I see that Setanta have won the rights to show Scotland's matches, so they won't be seen in most households. For those who don't subscribe, don't worry. ITV and STV have the rights to all of England's matches, so you can just watch them instead :017:

    Happy Yet?

"I think Rory is utterly sh1t and shouldn't be anywhere near our first team, but nobody should boo any player who is simply doing his best." On a different thread discussing his footballing merits, I will (and have done in the past) give a list of reasons, using more eloquent language, why he will not make the grade. But few of the boo boys would relate to such an appraisal and the point would be wasted. Anyway, if I was a professional footballer playing for ICT in the SPL, people could call me whatever they wanted and I'd just just give a smug smile :001:

Johnboy , I'll answer that for you. Yes it is acceptable as it does not breach any forum rules. Mods are allowed opinions too! You seem obsesssed with that comment, and I am sorry that I have caused you so much distress. But why don't you quote the full post? And then consider which section of our support it was aimed at, and the point that was being made? If you still don't understand it, please PM me and I will explain. Likewise if you have a problem with me or mods in general.

    Happy Yet?

When we were bottom with zero points not so long ago I think we'd all have been delighted to be where we are now. Whatever transpires in the January window will make or break our season though.
  18. Fraser didn't have any difficult saves to make, but his performance was immaculate all the same. Blackie's goal was NOT a world class 30 yarder! It was still a great strike from 20 yards though. Good all round performance today, but against a poor Utd with a much weakened team. Wilkie was comfortably contained this time. Cowie was again superb, and Rankin did not look the lighweight luxury player I remember him being. As ever Marius needs a mention. He is not a naturla lone striker at all, but laid off some good passes for the supporting Cowie and Rankin in the first half. Wasn't in the game at all in the 2nd and I'd have hooked him a lot sooner. At times his lack of pace was completely embarrassing as well as frustrating, for both fans and players. There were 2 occassions before we scored when Blackie had a right go at Marius, once for wasting a free kick on the edge of the box and then getting dispossessed, and once telling him to make runs to the corners (I think), to which Marius gestured that he needs the ball played to feet. Good away win though, and everyone went home happy. :003:
  19. The surgery required on Brewsters right shoulder was more drastic than anticipated.
  20. IHE seen licking the behind of an authority figure! :010:
  21. And I can't believe Stuart Baxter hasn't been mentioned :015:
  22. My mum's 1975 diary mentions that 2 Inverness men had a whisky drinking race, and both died within hours. Which brand would it have been?
  23. Couldn't be much worse. But we've won there before.
  24. How long ago did they have their success?
