  1. After a poor start to the season, he's actually been playing very well in the last few games and was probably our best player for 45 minutes today.
  2. Incredibly, some people just don't seem to realise that at 3-0 and 10 men the game was over. It was a case of damage limitation and resting players for Monday.
  3. Someone with usually very reliable connections at Tannadice tells me that Dods has agreed a pre-contract agreement to join Utd in the summer, but they will offer a few quid (literally) for us to let him go in January. They are also making moves for John Sutton and Robbie Neilson.
  4. Black has to be severely punished for this one. I don't mind if he gets a yellow for a robust challenge here and there, but when its for picking the ball up and booting it away right in front of the ref, as if to say "Go on then, send me off", then there is no place for him in our team. Edit : just seen the footage. Just after the half-time whistle went, he drop-kicked the ball from the centre circle to one of the goals. The ref gives him a yellow. As Blackie gets to the touchline, he picks up another ball and does exactly the same thing. He tried to argue that the 2nd one was not the match ball, it was actually for the half-time youngsters game, and he just getting it on to the pitch for them. Perhaps it could be seen as harsh, but what stupid thing to do, it gave the ref an easy opportunity to book him again.
  5. Morgan did pretty well when he came on. It was actually his break from defence and pass to Rankin that led to the winning goal. There must be a case for bringing Morgan in for McBain, who seems increasingly ineffective these days.
  6. For anyone who has access to Setanta, Rangers TV are showing the full 90 minutes at 5.45pm today :003: :003: :003: ............and then again at 8.30pm :001: :001: :001:
  7. I have to admit, when Dods swung his left hoof I was undecided whether he would send it over the stand, or miss the ball altogether.
  8. Setanta gave it to Rankin, but said it was going to be MacGregor until that strike.
  9. Good call prendergast, you were braver than I was!

    Hmm

Rankin wasn't dire, he was just really, really poor. As was Roy. It was Rory that was dire. I have seen enough to conclude that he is not going to make it as a footballer.
  11. Having just seen the highlights (it didn't take long!) Crawford was actually unlucky with his 2nd yellow. From where we were it looked a bad, late lunge on Hastings, but Crawford had actually slipped and took him down accidentally. The Pars fans enjoyed that bit though, it's always more satisfying to blame the ref rather than accept that your team is p1sh.

    Hmm

Tokely and Wilson were the only players who were tryihg to keep it on the deck. Positives? Very good defending, and as a result Broonie never had a save to make. We did have a couple of good chances, in particular when Wilson was through but fired straight at the keeper. And we went for it a bit more in the last 10 minutes. Negatives In short we played very bad football, too much aimless hoofing straight to the opposition. And Rory - oh dear oh dear oh dear. In my mind he has always been a poor player, but now he's getting worse.
  13. Who do I write to to get my £21 back? :008:
  14. There's some good ones there, especially the Chopra one. The Boro one is a poor imitation of the Celtic's "While we're in Seville, they'll be watching The Bill" - which is one of the best football lines I can recall.
  15. Left midfield is one of our weakest links this season, so I'm fairly sure that if Morgan looked the part in training then Charlie would have given him more of a chance.
  16. A Dons pal of mine pointed out that whilst Mackie has been p1sh for most of his time at Pittodrie, he always hits form when the club are deciding whether to offer him a contract extension. He did it a couple of seasons ago and became their top scorer with about 15, and has done well again recently.

    That's Better!!

Sounds like the entertainment level increased dramatically, at least.
  19. I'm trying to remember when Broonie last saved a penalty. Does anyone know how many he has faced and saved? I know that the keeper has no chance if the penalty is taken really well, but not many of them are struck that well and a keeper should save a proportion. It's bizarre that one of the best keepers in the country seems to be hopeless at spot kicks. Whatever his approach, is it time to accept it's not working? Or is he just unlucky?
  20. Completely out of the blue (brazil)!
  21. Err, we are! We are above 3 of those teams and just a point behind the other. "We WILL go down if Christie is not removed within the next few weeks." If you are wrong, will you : a) come back on here and admit to being a clueless overreactionary with an unfounded grudge against our manager and little knowledge about football, or b) Stop posting for ages, but then come back when we lose a few games next season and call for the manager's head. I think we all know the answer to that one.
  22. Cheers Bonzo - I had been wondering just how much or how little you actually know about football, but now you've removed any doubt!
  23. I heard a couple of days ago that Dundee Utd were trying to put together a player/coaching package to lure Pressly, but he can surely do a lot better than that.
  24. The defending was poor today, we really missed Dods' ability to take command and organise everything. Caff wasn't bad, he made some great challenges as ever, but what we had today was 4 individuals rather than 1 unit.
