  1. Yep, but what I'm saying is that it still took a helluva long time for Wyness (or his agent) to agree the terms if all along he wanted to stay. If he'd signed a month or two ago he wouldn't have this problem. It 's like when you sell your house, if you hold out for more money your potential buyer might decide they want a different house instead and you're back to square one.
  2. Glen Mhor, sooner or later past legends have to get replaced by future ones! We have 4 months to find players equal to or better than the ones we are losing, although we will have to do considerably better than we have done in the last couple of transfer windows if we are to reverse the decline in fortunes.
  3. I would be surprised if Wyness and his agent could claim to be totally innocent victims in this situation. When did the club commence contract talks with them, 2 or 3 months ago? Perhaps part of the problem is that the club have often allowed players as much time as they want to consider the contract terms offered, with agents often dragging it out as long as possible whilst they seek alternative offers. Sooner or later the club was going to lose patience and catch someone by surprise, and it was always going to happen to a player who was seen as nice to have rather than an essential part of the team.

Brewster was brought when were bottom of the league to keep us up this season, and build for next, when considerable improvement will be expected. Phase 1 accomplished comfortably, and for that reason I can't see him being sacked. Phase 2 I am not at all sure about. His transfer dealings in the summer will have to be significantly better than the ones so far for him to keep his job beyond September.
  5. Can't be that bad if Rossco, Duncan and Wyness were all happy to agree contract extensions this month, can it?
  6. He'd be mad to play him at the moment, and never said he would either. I think what he meant was that he wanted Denzil to rise to the challenge and prove his worth to ICT, not give up and switch his thoughts to contracts elsewhere so quickly. Not that I blame Denzil at all for doing that. But he knows that he unpicked himself from the squad. Hart is slightly different in that his mind is probably more focussed on football than contracts at the moment.
  7. Well, when Denzil is publicly stating that his ICT career is effectively over and he is trying to get a move sorted out over the next few days, you don't seriously expect him to be picked, do you?
  8. Why do people think Barry Wilson would be a good manager? Because he is an ICT legend who is approaching retirement?
  9. The question of a new manager brings us back to the question as to why Robbo is on Orion's payroll.
  10. If Brewster goes he can take McGuire with him.
  11. If you judge an ICT manager by their record elsewhere, then is Steve Paterson a terrible manager?
  12. No, it just means we are well and truly an SPL club!
  13. Here's a different perspective on the Wyness contract withdrawal. Imagine you are engaged. Shortly before the wedding you decide, for whatever reason, that you don't want to commit to spending years with that person. Your fiancee has done nothing wrong, and everyone will think that you are a heartless git who has ruined her life. The concensus here is that you should be obliged to proceed with a marriage that you don't want and no longer think will work, because you had previously indicated your intention to marry and shouldn't change your mind.
  14. Didn't realise it was Robbie Williamson! Did Rangers ask for their money back?
  15. I have a vague recollection that some time around 1989 Clach sold a player to Rangers, but a week or so later he came back up the road homesick. Is that actually what happened? If so what became of him?
  16. It's a shabby way to treat someone whoever it is, but it is very hard to imagine that there would be much of an outcry from the fans if it was a less popular player like McBain or McAllister who had a contract offer withdrawn.
  17. It's hard to disagree with what he says in that article.
  18. Several people involved, is what I'm trying to say. Just didn't want someone rushing to point the finger at the manager when none of us really know how much involvement he had in the decision.
  19. I think that's generally how it works.........apart from the Niculae signing!
  20. I think you are right, but the SPL rule book is written in pencil!
  21. Brewster involved, DoF in charge, and MD having the final say.......meaning several people would have been involved in the decision that Denzil's alleged act of indiscipline was sufficiently bad for his contract offer to be suspended?
  22. Brewster is not in charge of player contracts.
