Just back from the game. Barca's passing and composure on the ball were like nothing I've seen before. However it was clear that they haven't practiced shooting yet this season. Either that or their contract with Utd specified that they had to play good football but not win, cos at times it looked like they were trying hard not to score. Dods did OK, but Wilkie was really in charge. I fear that for the first time in many years, Utd could have a very solid back line and keeper.

Never heard of this guy, but a quick search tells me he is 23, from Guadeloupe, and looks like someone you wouldn't mess with. Which is a good start. However, he also has terrible credentials as a player and failed to make the grade in the French lower leagues. He must have a good agent.

And from what I can see if you want to stick with their basic TV package, Setanta appears to be just £8/month extra, compared to £15/month last season. On Sky and Freeview I think it is £9.99/month, but I don't know if that's just for a few months or for the whole season.

Dundee Utd have released a DVD of the highlights of last season.

That would be good, but I'm wondering if Setanta's contract with the SPL stipulates that whoever gets the rights to highlights is not allowed to show them so soon after the match. I can't think why else STV would have shown them at 11pm on a Monday.

If he proves his worth, I'm sure the players will be happy to have him here regardless of wages. The trouble starts if he turns out to be no better than the other strikers and can't hold down a first team place.

I'm very surprised that this possible deal is still live. It had all seemed to be fading away, with the player and his agent presumably touting themselves around Europe for the last 2 weeks in search of a better offer.

Looks like they have openly emailed Rangers ticket info to everyone registered with the official site. There are ways of concealing other recipients' email addresses, the simplest of which is to use "bcc" rather than "To". It doesn't bother me personally, but I'm sure there are many people on that list who would rather their email addresses were kept private. Reply and tell them that. Moreover, it's just not wise for any business to publicise the contact details of pretty much its entire customer base. This shouldn't be allowed to happen again, and I suspect it won't.
