  1. Would certainly be great to see Graeme Shinnie back at the stadium, along with Wayne Rooney.
  2. I see that whilst McBookie maintain Dodds as hot favourite, Sheerin has suddenly appeared this morning as 2nd favourite. Interesting that he was expected to go to Falkirk but that hasn’t materialised - I wonder if we were his preferred option and he wanted to learn the outcome with us? I don’t think bookies have any particular insight on these matters but their odds do react to bets being placed, and in this type of market bets can be placed by people who do have inside knowledge of who is in contention or being offered the job.
  3. Vigurs got 21 cards this season, beating his previous best of 18, so improving with age in that respect!
  4. We tried to get him in January, didn’t we? That was probably just a loan deal but it shows there is a belief in the club that he’d be good at this level, but as others have said, it’s all about the wages.
  5. Dick Campbell lasted less than 5 months, sacked when he’d got them top of the league.
  6. Good news and entirely expected. But does this pave the way for another club to sign him up safe in the knowledge that he won’t be starting the season with a lengthy ban?
  7. You keep a spreadsheet of group stage opponents?!
  8. Why go for the ‘new Foran’ when they could get the original? Please?
  9. Unsurprisingly George Oakley is part of Killie’s clear out. He didn’t manage a goal for either them or the Bulgarian side he was with previously.
  10. Here are the latest odds from McBookie. Dodds remains their hot favourite, but I’d be surprised if it was him given the public advertising of the post. Hughes only appeared on the list yesterday morning, many hours before it was announced he was leaving County, so somebody clearly knew that was about to happen.
  11. Liam Polworth is one of 16 players leaving Motherwell.
  12. In the absence of paying a transfer fee for Rooney, wouldn’t it be nice if St Johnstone could give us a wee cut of the cup prize money and potential £3M Europa League group stage revenue resulting from these vital goals.
  13. If Dodds was the right man I’d have thought he’d have been offered the job without it being advertised.
  14. Good news for anyone who had him to score today at 10/1.
  15. What is the likelihood that the new head coach, very possibly in his first manager role, will immediately be better than Robbo/McCann were?
  16. Liam Fox joined Hibs from Livi. He was never going to join us, our closing date for applications today with interviews next week and he wouldn’t quit have his job without having something concrete lined up.
  17. Jonny Tuffey (Crusaders) got sent off in the Irish Cup semifinal after being deemed to have come off his line to ‘save’ 3 penalties in a shootout. The retakes were scored and his team lost. You can see it on the BBC Sport site.
  18. I would think that most candidates applying to ICT will also be applying to Dunfermline, and probably Falkirk too. It’s maybe a bit unfortunate for us that there are now vacancies at 2 similar sized clubs who have the advantage over us of not requiring relocation to the Highlands.
  19. There’s also a reference to this structural change being brought about partly by circumstance. I can’t help wondering if it is the case that, for whatever reason, the manager role isn’t suitable for Robbo any more, so we’ve created this position because we were committed to pay him for another 2 years anyway.
  20. Another interesting clarification from the interview is that the new head coach will report to the CEO, not the Sporting Director.
  21. Yeah you can hear him faintly in the background, mic needs connected or switched on. Can someone tell him he’s talking to himself?
  22. Not sure why people are still hoping it will be McCann. The fact that the club has his phone number and have no doubt had numerous conversations with him over recent weeks and months, but are publicly advertising the position, means that it will not be him.
  23. It appears Dan only signed for Hibs today, with Hibs citing a delay due to factors outwith their control. Could just be something administrative, or could it be that the medical led to something needing checked out more thoroughly?
  24. It’s not an argument for remaining in the UK, just consistent application of the SNP’s own position after separation on the right of people to choose their future when they live in a part of the country that gets dragged out of the UK against their will. The only credible answer the SNP can give is to accept that principle otherwise they show themselves up for what they are. Obviously areas in the middle of Scotland would not seriously consider leaving due to the practical issues it would cause, but the border region is where the impact of the hard border would have greatest impact on peoples lives and jobs. I spent part of my life just a few miles this side of the border and the people I still know there have even more contempt for nationalism than I do!
