  1. Now that this rollercoaster season has ended in mid-table mediocrity, what are your thoughts on what went right, what went wrong, who and what were the good, the bad and the ugly from this season?
  2. I’m off to cut the grass, season’s over, can’t face this any more.
  3. This couldn’t be any worse. Not only are we 2 down in the opening minutes but both Dundee and Dunfermline are winning. Can we rewind the clock to 3pm and start again?
  4. For me, a good outcome today is simply for us to go into the final game of the season with a chance of making the playoffs, even as outsiders.
  5. Not too surprising, could have been worse. Had more than an inkling Allardyce’s red was a wrong decision based purely on so many of our players protesting angrily to the ref. I think 2 of them got yellows for doing so - maybe they should get overturned too, as they were simply trying to help the ref avoid making an error.
  6. Lewis Toshney has announced his retirement from football at the age of 28 and has taken up the role of manager of Downfield Juniors in Dundee. In the 10 years since making his debut, injuries restricted him to 136 appearances, spread across 11 clubs, the last of which was ICT.
  7. Lovely first touch from Dan for the goal, bringing the high pass under control.
  8. Put it this way, if you google “Josh Meekings injured” it brings up 82,700 results.
  9. Yeah, second half Dundee were much improved. Had we kept 11 men on the pitch we may well have lost, who knows.
  10. Think you have to go back 11 games against Hearts since we last beat them. But on our day, with 11 men, we are well capable of doing it.
  11. I don’t think it could be described as a classic! Classic semi-finals, on the other hand....
  12. Would it be fair or even legal to apply sanctions against players who are simply fulfilling a contractual obligation to play for their employer?
  13. I can confirm that ICT are NOT one of the 12 European clubs who have signed up for this. I’m sure many of our fans will appreciate this clarification.
  14. Who would you rather be just now in the battle for 4th place, us or Dunfermline? I’d say it is advantage Dunfermline after their good win over QotS today, with them having points on the board and easier fixtures left.
  15. Iain Davidson’s SFA hearing was adjourned today with no new date yet announced. Stranger and stranger.
  16. So did mine. I have declined the opportunity to vote for the “Scottish National Party - Nicola Sturgeon for SNP First Minister” party. None of the other 15 options on the paper were pinning their hopes on one person like that, not even Alba!
  17. Well we were the first team to earn a place in the 4th round, this scheduling gives us a chance to do be the first into the 5th!
  18. The nearest precedent I can think of was the funeral of Diana which was on a Saturday morning. Despite her being a popular figure, she had even less constitutional importance than the Duke, but I think all senior UK football was postponed that day, even games like a Scotland international due to take place hours after the funeral finished. The SFA initially wanted to play it as scheduled but eventually gave in to public pressure. They are maybe concerned about another backlash and accusations of a lack of respect.
  19. It’s looking fairly likely that our cup tie at St Mirren might be getting rescheduled. SFA are consulting over games scheduled for Saturday afternoon, with the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral also scheduled to kick off at 3pm. We certainly wouldn’t want our game moved any closer to the Dundee game. Maybe a Saturday lunchtime kickoff? Edit - sorry just noticed that this is being discussed on the cup 4th round thread, so please continue any discussion on scheduling over there.
  20. Has Hughes made any public comment yet? I see he has made 5 changes for County’s game today which perhaps says a lot, including Donaldson dropping out.
  21. Welsh not recovered from getting injured in the warm up at Morton, and curiously no place in the squad again for Keatings.
  22. There have been various times in our history when you could watch our team and be proud that we had a really solid defence, usually with a great central pairing. This season has not been one of those times for me - and yet, here we are with the joint best goals against record in the league, and rarely conceding more than one per game even in our poor run of form, so the team is definitely doing something right and as RiG says, the defence deserves more credit than it has been given.
  23. Todorov’s father is also a footballer called Nikolay Todorov, who scored for Bulgaria against Scotland in a 1-1 Euro qualifier tie in 1990.
  24. Got me thinking, where does he stand in our list of best ever East European strikers?!
