  1. Reguero Meekings Devine Hogg G.Shinnie Foran Draper Jones Doran--------------------A.Shinnie McKay
  2. Good luck to him. He's been a great piece of business for us and unfortunately this is the problem of having successful seasons! I'm not 100% sure he's quite at Championship level but you can't blame him for giving it a shot. Seems a good lad and i'll be keeping an eye on his progress next season. Thanks for all Andy and top it off with a few more goals to fire us into Europe before heading south.
  3. Disappointing result but once again you can't fault any of the players attitudes or efforts. We held out well for 60 minutes and were just beginning to frustrate Celtic when they scored. Warren going off made things difficult as he was simply superb first half and you could see the defence lacked organisation without him as highlighted from the corner that Ambrose was left with a free header from 6 yards. Can't understand the criticism of OTJ at all. I thought he had a very good game against an unbelievable talent in Wanyama. We've always said that if Celtic play at their best, they'll beat us and unfortunately the last 30 mins from Celtic was very good. The movement from Hooper and Commons in particular caused us problems and you can see why they are paid what they are paid. Saying that, credit has to go to Josh Meekings for yet another brilliant game in the centre of defence. His tackle at the end of the first half was perfectly timed and he marshalled the front two of Celtic very well for 60 minutes. He's only 20/21 and has performed at a very high and consisted level all season and for this I think he may very well be my vote for player of the year. One concern I do have is Butchers constant decision to play Draper out wide. He really is wasted out there and I feel that yesterday was a perfect example that it just doesn't work. When soaking up pressure like we were, we desperately needed an out ball and we didn't have one. A.Shinnie would normally give us this but he was having to drop deep yesterday to help out in midfield and Doran didn't have his best afternoon. Draper and Jones I believe is our best partnership in the middle and I really hope they are re-united for Saturday. I notice the amount of people mentioning Butchers tactical change yesterday by taking Shinnie off for Taylor. I have a sneaky suspicion this may be a plan for next season with Doran (if he stays) taking Shinnies role in the hole behind the striker. Just a theory but i'd like to see it given a bit of time as I believe he may be quite effective in that position. I was actually quite impressed by our left side once G.Shinnie was pushed further forward. What did people make of Devine's yellow card? From where I was sitting it seemed like the usual play acting from Samaras who went down in a heap holding his face. Did the TV show any contact? The fixtures may not have been the kindest towards us but I for one am glad to have got Celtic out the way at the start as we now have four winnable games and can hopefully build momentum without having to face a team the calibre of Celtic. Lets just remember where we have come from this season and really get behind the team for one final push towards Europe. Butcher, Malpas and all the players deserve so much praise whether we make Europe or not so let's really just show them how much we appreciate their efforts this season by turning out in numbers for the last four games and really backing the team hopefully into Europe. What a season and it continues...
  4. Not looking good on the A.Shinnie front. Butcher seems resigned to losing him. A chance for Nick Ross to step up? http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/Sport/Football/Shinnie-expected-to-depart-ICT-21032013.htm
  5. Good team choice. Harsh on Ross and Devine but Warren and Foran are most definitely needed today. Also going for a 3-2. Doran is due a goal, Warren and McKay. C'mon Caley
  6. We started with a diamond in midfield as follows: Jones Draper Ross Shinnie McKay Doran Just after our third goal we changed back to the standard 4-2-3-1 as follows: Jones Draper Ross Shinnie Doran McKay
  7. Terrible 7 days. Shinnie and Foran injured to rub salt in the wounds
  8. Simple question: WIll this realistically see the game replayed?
  9. Terry Butcher, what a man. I have to say that I was a little worried but what a man it takes to turn down the money he was supposed to be getting offered. His loyalty has to be rewarded and what better way to do this as fans, by turning up in numbers for the Aberdeen game and giving the man a standing ovation as he walks out the tunnel. Could this or something similar be arranged? A Terry Butcher flag fund would also be a great idea?! Am I right in saying that TB is our first manager to ever turn down a job offer?
  10. Very excited for this one. Could anyone let me know if there are any student prices for this game?
  11. Same team but Nick Ross is back on the bench.
  12. Hope this doesn't affect our game on Wednesday
  13. I would keep the squad together. The priorities however, have to be, Andrew Shinnie who has been offered a new contact, OTJ, Aaron Doran who has indicated in the courier that he'd like to stay, Ross Draper, Antonio Reguero, David Raven and Garry Warren both of whom have today said in the courier that they want to stay. WIth Nick Ross already signing a new contract, that just leaves us with Shane Sutherland, Gavin Morrison and Scott Mathieson who i'd like to see stay but if they did leave, it wouldn't be the end of the world. The one I really worry about is Andrew Shinnie. He's the standout player in the squad and having yet to sign a contract that has been on the table for weeks now, i'm beginning to worry. I believe that the players really want to stay and fight for Europe together.
  14. Great three points again today. The team have undoubtably played better at times this season but at stages today we played some very pleasing football. Stand outs for me were Garry Warren once again. This man may just turn out to be Butchers best singing at the club. For me, he's not outstandingly skilful but what he does provide is real leadership and a desire to win that we have lacked since Darren Dods. He organises the defence brilliantly and even when young Cooper came on, he guided him and talked him through exactly what was what. OTJ has quickly become very much an essential part of this team. He provides the defence with great cover and today I thought he did a brilliant job at pressing Dundee high up the pitch and forcing them into giving the ball back to us or making a mistake. His range of passing is very important and between himself and Draper, they provide us with the backbone of the team. Finally, is our number 7 really the same player that played up front for us last season? Billy Mckay ran himself into the ground once again. He doesn't know when the ball is lost and anything he touches at the moment seems to end up in the back of the net. Brilliantly lucky finish for the second goal that could only happen to someone who's on such form as himself. Andy Shinnie seemed hesitant to celebrate with him after taking away a simple finish from him so it was great to see Shinnie amongst the goals again today. Overall a reasonable performance from the lads but ultimately Dundee never forced us out of first gear in the second half and it was pleasing to win so comfortably. It was interesting hearing TB say in his post match interview that he was most worried about this game as people expected us to win. ICT have so often crumbled in this position (most recently the 5-1 lose to Motherwell) but today the players coped with the pressure and delivered an efficient and confident performance. This team is very special and they deserve all the praise that they receive. The only disappointing thing for me was once again the crowd. I know it's the Christmas season and people have other things to spend their money etc on but to get an attendance of just over 3000 for a team on a great run and with the opportunity to sit second in Scotland's highest league is disappointing. The club have been very pro-active in trying to encourage bigger crowds (buy 1 get 1 free offer was great) but it gets to a stage where we as fans have to ask ourselves what more can we do to help the club increase crowds? Ultimately, the stay away fans are really missing out on some great value entertainment (where else could you get to see 2 games of SPL football for as little as £15) and it's their lose. This season may very well turn out to be the greatest in ICT's history and I for one don't want to miss any of it

    OTJ

I said it the season we signed him and i'll say it again, this guy is a real class act. He just strides through the games with such control and composure. Himself and Draper have been integral to our much improved defensive performances this season and long may it continue. They work brilliantly together and it was great to see both of them taking turns at pressing Dundee high up the pitch today and that forced them into make mistakes. Jones has some real ability there and the longer we can keep him and preferably Draper alongside him, the better. Big thumbs up for the MOTM today
  16. The best thing that could happen for us in January is for the likes of the Shinnies, Draper, Warren, Meekings etc to sign two or three year contracts. That'd be a boost that'd be more welcomed for me than new short term signings. This team is special and the sooner they all commit for another couple of years, the better.
  17. Gutted but we can't be hard on ourselves. We have lost a last minute equaliser (for reasons outside of our control) but lets remember where we have come from not only today but on a whole. Play this game last year and after tens minutes, we would have been on for a very heavy defeat. The lads looked really gutted at the end which shows just how much this means to them. This is a really special team we have so lets play our part and get right behind the team and remind them that our unbeaten run is still intact. They deserve all the praise that we should be giving them. Stand up for the Caley Jags
  18. Great save!!! Hold on lads
  19. YESSSSSSS!!!! What a spirit..
