  1. I can understand your point Sneckboy, I agree with you about his movement and I would go as far as saying he was more effective on the wings in the second half of the Ross County than he has been up front this season. The frustrating part for me is the chances being squandered and we have Sekajja on the bench who could possibly tuck them away. As I stressed earlier in the thread, for Mckay to be dropped it's not the end of the world. The use of the word "dropped" is probably harsher than it sounds but if he gets "rested" for a couple of games it then gives him time to rest, reflect and gain a bit of self confidence and the hunger to succeed. Competition is very healthy for a football team and Mckay being used as an impact sub for a few games could be of great benefit of the team.
  2. I feel that John Hughes has done a good job with us on the basis that we are still maintaining our status as a top six side. In truth Yogi's reign at ICT could have gone horribly wrong for the reasons already stated (Mass exodus, drop in form etc) In the first few months of his tenure, I wasn't overly keen on the style of play because at times the players seemed quite alienated to the idea of playing in our own half because under Butcher it was attack, attack. I kept saying to myself to wait and see what happens with a proper pre season under his belt and the style of play and absolutely we are seeing the nice, slick football and yes it's very easy on the eye. I personally thought that last Saturday's match was easy on the eyes and quite an enthralling match between two good football teams. I do also share the thoughts of Renegade regarding the Rangers and Cup Final games. I felt that both Rangers and Aberdeen were there for the taking and if we pressed them more, we could be sitting here as Cup Winners 2014 and still in the cup etc. Absolutely Yogi deserves all the credit, joint top of the table in October is something to be proud of but for me the most important time period for ICT is the winter period, when we have our annual 'slump', when the weather starts affecting the pitches and of course we don't have a two week break in January so it's going to be intense. As Yogi says let's roll the sleeves up and have a go at it!
  3. What needs to happen with Mckay IMO
  4. That wouldn't be any different to yesterday IMO. We played Watkins and Mckay up front yesterday and yes it was working but Mckay just couldn't hit the net unfortunately. He is one yellow card away from a suspension. I thought he was due to miss yesterday but it's 6 before a suspension.
  5. Brill Raven Warren Meekings Shinnie Draper Watkins Vincent Tansey Williams Sekajja
  6. Totally agree with you IHE - give them too much respect and we will suffer for it like we did with their city rivals. We should use Hamilton's approach and have a right good go at them and we should get the three points.
  7. I totally understand your point but I personally feel that 1 goal in 11 league games isn't a great record of Mckay's abilities. Getting into goal scoring opportunities is all well and good but frankly he isn't scoring goals at the moment - If Billy Mckay was on the same form as the last two seasons, he would have scored a hat-trick today! In my opinion being dropped isn't the worst thing in the world for a footballer, look at how well Aaron Doran reacted after being dropped by Yogi this season. We just signed Ibra Sekajja who has scored 2 goals in 2 U20 games so we don't lack alternatives. Competition is healthy so let Sekajja challenge Mckay spot I say.
  8. Throw Sekajja into the deep end and he may well produce the goods.
  9. I thought today we controlled the game very well and reaped the rewards for it. I personally thought due to the amount of chances we created, we should have won the game more comfortably than we did. I felt that playing two up top was far more effective than Mckay up solo which Watkins played a blinder with today and scored another decent goal. I felt Vincent coming into a central role again was played very well, far more better than him being stuck on the wings - he looked more comfortable with the ball today. I felt sorry for Billy Mckay today and some of the chances he had today he just squandered. Today was a game where I actually felt where he was getting service and he made great movement but his end product just isn't here at the moment. I'd be inclined to drop him next weekend regardless of Celtic being the opposition. - 1 goal in the 11 league games for him isn't the best. I was a bit disappointed that Sekajja didn't feature today and we went for Nick Ross up front - didn't understand that one in all honesty. Anyways, 3 massive points and joint top of the table - couldn't ask for anymore at this stage!
  10. What about Vincent back in as a direct replacement for Christie? I don't think he's played that role since before he got injured IIRC
  11. Interestingly enough, we've had a Chilean score against us (Pinilla) but the game was at Tynecastle.
  12. Just had a look to see who the referee is today: Kevin Clancy.
  13. Only changes i would make is swap doran and watkins put them on the opposite wings and swap polworth for draper Watkins always plays on the right hand side and occasionally switches with Doran throughout the game anyways.
  14. As mentioned by and confirmed by the SFA, only Ryan Christie suspended for tomorrow. Apparently it is six yellow cards not 5 as I thought. So he will be available after all!
  15. Game tomorrow with Dundee United and we are facing them without the availability of Ryan Christie through suspension. Who should be his replacements? Should we go two up front with Sekajja and Mckay? My team would be: 4-4-2 Brill Raven Warren Meekings Shinnie Watkins Tansey Draper Doran Sekajja Mckay
  16. HT: 1-0 FT: 1-3 1st ICT: Sekajja 1st United: Bilate 1st Goal: 10 mins
  17. I bet when Rangers and Hearts come up next season sponsors will crawl back.
  18. Probably cause the Edinburgh Derby will be on I think.
  19. Given that the screenshot doesn't show the full back line, it might have not been last man. There's no such thing as 'last man' anymore. It does my nut in hearing that call on the football pitch and on the terrace. Fair enough, denying goal scoring opportunity etc.
  20. Given that the screenshot doesn't show the full back line, it might have not been last man.
  21. To be fair it looks a tight call but free kick should have been the awarded.
  22. Great indeed but hopefully Shinnie, Tansey, Watkins, Raven and Mckay all follow suit!
  23. Sounds like a good defensive performance Davie going by yours and IHE's posts. We do play well in terrible weather conditions too if you can recall Hearts last December!
  24. Wasn't there yesterday but how did we fair tactically? Similar to County second half?
