  1. When paying £3M for a player you should hopefully expect him to be there or there abouts. Taking nothing away from him Portugals second tier is still a good standard. Main point I was making was really if Billy went abroad that it isn't always greener on the other side of the fence. Technically he is already abroad !!! He's British and still in Britiain

  3. To be fair to Vincent he's been carrying a groin injury but Watkins should have started IMO.
  4. The problem I have with Yogi's philosophy is that I find it too slow and unfortunately it comes across as negative and boring. I personally don't think 4-2-3-1 suits his philosophy of football and would suggest changing to 4-4-2 or 3-5-2. I really don't have a problem with the passing style per say but if it's quick and moves forwards rather than backwards then we will be more effective. I was pleased that we were taking more shots outside the box as that was one of my bug bares in the Butcher era trying to walk it into the net. Regarding tonight's game Nil-Nil was the fair result - pretty passes but no final third from either side. Hopefully Yogi goes back to the drawing board and changes the team about on Saturday - Watkins, Doran and Williams must start.
  5. Seen that Ryan Gauld is already struggling out in Portugal and now playing for Sporting's B team - so sometimes the grass isn't greener on the other side. In saying that though playing in the second tier of Germany might be a good starter to get adjusted to German football.
  6. If it is indeed FSV instead of Eintracht then I think Mckay would be more keen to stay put.
  7. I don't think it's in the best interest for anyone if we were asking for an extortionate amounts which would ultimately make teams walk away and then we are in a position where Billy can leave next season for free and we could have been saying I wish we could have boosted the coffers with the 300K bid from Frankfurt. I still wished we could have got cash for Andy Shinnie but it's just one of these things. I have faith that Kenny Cameron will do what's best for ICT.
  8. I totally agree 200K wouldn't be an acceptable bid. I was just stating that if we didn't accept a bid we could risk losing him and getting no money for him like we did with Andy Shinnie unless Billy signs another contract then we don't have that worry. For what it's worth I would accept anything from 300K-700K for Billy.
  9. Baring in mind Billy could walk away for nought in January.
  10. I wonder if it will be more than 65K that Fleetwood bid. I was listening to Russell on Sportsound after the game last Saturday and he said we would like to keep but we will do what's best for Billy wether it be staying here or elsewhere which is true enough. Playing in the Bundesliga would be some feat for Billy and would be hard to turn down so will just have to wait and see. As Yogi has said on the club YouTube before "Football evolves, if it's not him it's somebody else"
  11. Same team as Hamilton but Doran replacing Vincent.
  12. HT:1-0 FT:1-1 1st ICT:Tansey 1st Dundee: Tankulic 1st Goal: 25 mins
  13. No CaleyDawson..... I should have voted.
  14. Reason I was suggesting Carl Finnigan cause he is in the similar sort of mould as Lewis Horner. It may or may not work out as has been stated he is only 27 so who knows. As I said would only give him a short deal (6 month) for cover and may do a job if we have no other viable options.
  15. Might be worth a short term deal if no other second striker is viable.
  16. We should be thankful that we are in a position where the journalists actually want to interview the manager. And we won the game! An ideal opportunity for Yogi to throw their gloomy predictions back at them. I would have thought he would have relished the opportunity. As far as I can see he already done that by letting the talking being done on the pitch. As I said he didn't need to give them the gratitude of an interview - I don't see why it's such a big issue that he didn't IMO. As for the Rangers comment I was just being sarcastic as I don't see why Yogi not giving an interview should have anything to do with Rangers.
  17. Lewis Horner signed a one year deal.
  18. Yes Yogi didn't give an interview because that's what happens at Rangers... As I said above he was probably pissed off at the fact Journos were not giving us a chance before a ball was even kicked and didn't want to give them gratitude of an interview.
  19. When the Journos were tipping ICT for relegation despite Yogi telling them not to underestimate us then why should he give an interview? I didn't hear what was fully said but I think something about the highlands was mentioned too.
  20. Delighted with the result and delighted Danny Williams got a start on the wings today. Our bench looked strong today which is another positive aspect. Looking forward to Wednesday night now after a good win that had a potential slip up.
  21. Whatever that means doesn't take away from the fact that he said he would be happy just to avoid relegation. Despite saying "we'll let everyone else tell everyone what they're going to do" he also says that he expects we'll win more games than we'll lose - which, of course, is telling everyone else what he thinks we're going to do. So he thinks we will win more than we will lose (so presumably that's top six again) but he will still be happy if we just avoid relegation. I'm sure he does have higher ambitions for the club but his words don't exactly inspire confidence. Ictchris makes a good point about small changes having a big impact on league position and therefore it would be foolish to make any more specific predictions, but surely nobody at the club will be happy if we just avoid relegation - relieved, maybe but surely not happy. I would have thought the line should be that we have been top six for the last 2 seasons and will be looking to build on that. At the same time he should be acknowledging the progress other clubs like Aberdeen and Dundee Utd in particular are making which will make the league very competetive. That would demonstrate ambition whilst playing down expectations. I remember watching an interview during half time of Dundee United last March on BBC Alba and they were interviewing Richie Foran. Richie said "If we don't achieve Top Six next year then it would be considered a failure" I'm sure Yogi is aware of the expectation to achieve a top six finish and he will give it his best shot as will the players.
  22. Or Yogi could adjust his tactics a little bit to accommodate a second striker while keeping his ball retention philosophy. Old school 4-4-2 or even Louis Van Gaal's Netherlands tactic at the recent world cup 3-5-2 However I can understand where Yogi is coming from when you buy a player in they have be a first team starter. Just look at Jason Oswell, Sam Winnall and latest Toby Agdestein.
  23. Well Paddy McCourt is good at ball retention...
  24. Once Queens Park and Sevco play their game but i don't actually know when that is though. 26th of August is when that tie is played.
