After having a read of the promotions, I think they are definitely a good move. By having a promotion for the highland Derby on the 31st might just get them 'boycotters' over the bridge to the game to give the Derby the atmosphere it deserves. The St Johnstone game in January being a 'pay what you want' is absolutely a bold move but one where it's been seen before in the lower leagues in England - I don't know how successful they were but they must be if ICT is trying it. I personally think it makes great business sense to make it PWYW because it being a midweek game and nobody would really travel up from Perth but if it's a cheap night out you watch their opinion change.

Who we playing ICTPaisley?
-
If you look Strachan's signings when he was Middlesbrough boss it says it all.

To be fair Alex, Callum Paterson plays right back and so does Bardlsey so seems a straightforward swap. - I wouldn't go anywhere near Ricky Foster at Rangers. I was at the Hearts vs Dumbarton game last month and Paterson was superb throughout. What baffles me more, how does Steven Whittaker get ahead of Graeme? Andrew Robertson deservedly number 1 with Graeme number 2 would be my choice and that's not through ICT tinted glasses.

Yeah totally understand but I keep hearing positive reports about Ibra in the U20s so surely we can play him in the final 10-20 mins of the game at least to keep Ibra fresh in the event that Billy or Marley become unavailable. I thought it was strange that we stuck Nick Ross up front in the Dundee United game instead of Ibra.

I know it's a bit off topic but I'm just wondering when Ibra Sekajja is going to get a chance in the first team? With his contract up at the end of next month surely we should be playing him more than just Under 20s - Sadly I can see him being another Toby Adgestein/Jason Oswell/ Curtis Allen etc.

Really good game of football this afternoon. The slow start meant that Hamilton could capitalise early and there was no chance Brill was getting to it but we got our heads into the game and battered Hamilton after that. Hats off to Mckay, I thought he played a blinder today and got two well deserved goals. I liked the idea of him and Watkins up front as they do compliment each other. Gary Warren's goal was out of this world - a great defenders header To sum up really I felt that today was a good team performances and I thought the tactics and subs were good today especially when Hamilton brought it back to 3-2 - Hamilton couldn't cope when Doran and Christie came on. Just to add, was Willie Collum feeling alright today? I thought he had a good game today.

Obviously the rest period last week gave him more in the tank lol!

Motherwell winning tonight defintely a good result for us. As for Draper being available and also reading the article about Mckay yesterday I'm going to revise my team I posted above: Brill Raven Warren Meekings Shinnie Draper Watkins Vincent Tansey Williams Mckay

It's crazy to think that Yogi has been at ICT nearly a year ago. Feels like yesterday he just joined!
-
Richie will be the next ICT manager after Yogi - even Yogi said that in the courier or highland news last week!
-
Kyle Lander and Adam Morgan scored for St Johnstone, no word on who scored for us though.
-
FT 2-1 St Johnstone
-
1-2 now, don't know who scored.
-
2-0 St Johnstone
-
Apparently it's 1-0 to St Johnstone at HT.

You're joking right? No, I wasn't joking RIG. The facts speak for themselves. Billy's goals dried up long before the end of last season, and this season have been negligible. This from a striker who many on here were valuing in the millions this time last year (I wasn't one of them; were you?). I don't deny that he still puts a lot of effort in, but his finishing is just not up to the mark at the moment. That's why I thought a couple of games at a lower level might just be the spur he needs to refind his scoring touch. Your loyalty to him is touching, so what is your solution? To me it seems you advocate just sitting it out and hope things take a turn for the better. I understand what you're saying RiG, but it may be over-exertion on Billy's part to make sure he gets the final ball. The only person that could answer that is Billy himself. I personally think a short resting period would do him the world of good as he has been so ever present at all levels last season and this season. I don't think dropping him in the U20s is the correct thing either. Billy needs a confidence boost and I think a rest period would give him that. There's so much more to his game than sticking the ball in the back of the net. We've seen that from him so many times this season. His work rate up top is phenomenal. Remember, he is playing as a single striker up front and with our slow style of play compared to recent seasons, support is slower to get to him yet he still does a great job winning the ball, laying it off to team mates often when he is outnumbered. He has played a crucial part in this team getting to where we are this season and that's without scoring. I see no reason to deduce that he should no longer start because he isn't scoring. He has so much more in his skill set than just that. Dropping him to the bench or from the first XI altogether might end up being counter productive and damage his confidence. I don't see it as a risk to keep him in the side when we have been doing so well. You need to remember that his goal scoring exploits have slowed down for a long time now. It's not just this season that he hasn't been finding the net. As we've moved to JH style of play Mckay has suffered in terms of grabbing goals but, at least this season, the team has been getting results. Why would you want to mess with that? I actually agree with you with his work rate and I have previously stated that he was quite effective on the wings in the second half of the Ross County game if that's anything to go by. Yeah, his movement up front and assisting Marley Watkins has been really beneficial to the team. I know we aren't going to agree regarding Mckay's stamina levels but as I said Billy could be over-exerting himself to keep up the passing style that Yogi likes to play alongside being the penalty box striker that we are used to seeing him play. I had a quick scan of his stats from last season and in total Billy had participated in 52 football games last season which finished for him in June and then he would have come back to training (Possibly granted weeks ahead of others, I don't know) but 52 games in a whole season is fair amount of games. You may be right that it could be counter productive by placing him on the bench but if you look at how Aaron Doran has reacted since being on the bench, it could actually be productive. Yes, without a doubt the team has been doing well but I personally think that coincides with Watkins rise in form. (Apparently David Raven has our most assists this season with 3)

Well the Dundee United game certainly looked like it. If he had a bit more in the tank he wouldn't have scuffed the chance in the second half.
-
Without a doubt I fully expect Billy Mckay to score but as I have said many times, he needs a short spell of sitting out of games like he was last Saturday You have to admire him, he was so ever present last season and not forgetting, while the rest of the squad were on Holiday, Billy was on International duty in South America. A lot has been expected of him. The guy looked burntout when I was at the United game a couple weeks ago and he has still been on the International scene. With a deserved rest period, we should see a resurgent Mckay of old - scoring goals!
-
Owen Coyle maybe?
-
The most obvious choice for the job would be Derek Adams considering he used to play for Motherwell but I think they may go a bit left field with their next appointment.

What position would be acceptable this season
ICTRoughi replied to gordieict's topic in Caley Thistle
What's with you and the next two matches, they won't shape our season this early on They could be crucial six points come the end of the season. We have Aberdeen, Killie and Dundee hot on our tails. -
Yeah its the pitch behind the actual academy, just directly opposite the car park. It's a strange set up indeed as I was under the impression that team get cash from SPFL if they use their home stadium.
