buses to the game?
Nick On saturdays there is a football bus that leaves the bus station for the stadium about 3 quarters of an hour before K.O I presume it runs for Friday night games as well, you need to check though.

I suppose live by the off the cuff remark, die by the on the cuff remark. Does it matter one itota if I say Calley, Caley, or Kelly, The word is a coruption of the Roman word Caledonian. ( Meaning Northern waste land) So what the Hell. I never could spell left school at 14 not like your generation who had a comprehensive education, or indeed a grammar school education, or you went to Eton. To mock someone over spelling is pretty bad form, from a generation who have had it so good. I was brought up on rationing. My first job was a 48 hour week, my second was 56 hour week. But the world will spin to my next report Some say, this some say that, but I say " well that's for me to know and you to think about". OK I will say it, in 60 years of watching professional football, No 23 is as bad as it gets.".

Caley All The Way (book)
Just as an aside My son who goes book buying for me has found me a copy for a couple of quid I am well chuffed He says the value is around £70 Although this is one book I will not be selling as yet anyway He also brought me a book about the early days of Hibernian, and how this little Irish working men's based club managed to get themselves into the elite of Scottish football.

Besides the fact , he has no positional, sense, - he can't pass the ball, - he cant tackle We have a real find- ICT -V- Dundee Utd
I suppose when I took my seat in a half empty stadium, with about a small coach load of opposition fans sitting opposite, I did wonder that i was in for a rather sombre afternoon. A rather muted rendation of Glory Glory Dundee United just about broke the silence, but it fizzled out. Our fans did not respond with the usual reponse of " Can you hear the Dundee sing" , totally ignoring it I had never seen Dundee United before , but I felt that this famous old club , well renowed not only in Scotland but throughout the rest of United Kingdom and beyond would give us a hard time. ( I spoke to my sister in Law after the game, she lives near Preston, and when I told her the result all she could say in Amazement was " Dundee United ? " as though she couldn't believe it, ) The game started eventful enough , the Calley goalie , resplendant in his off white Madrid socks , took the eye, he was to see 3 United shots blazed over the bar, ( the old song "what the F' hell was that", I must admit crossed my mind, but the Calley young men in the north stand get their dignity and didn't sing it. Another ball crashed into the reserve golies side netting, and a long afternoon seemed to beckon. Morrison was booked for a reckless tackle all within 6 or 7 minutes of the kick off. Well I thought will we complete this with 11 players on the field?????. As you know the rest I won't bore you with a record of the goals Throughout the game I was moaning to the poor guy within earshot about No 23 Roberts on loan I think. I said at one time we would be better painting 23 on a can of beans and putting it on the wing, I suggested we were playing with 10 men ( as usual) Only to find our players struggling to get a shot in. with backs to the goal, had no where to go but to shove it out to the foresaid can of beans who was loafing around on the edge of the box. Well the rest is history. My neighbour in the stand smiled and said " keep on complaining it is working wonders ", a minute later he was sustituted, not my nieghbour , but the said number 23. Well as a famous guy once said on being elected " things can only get better ". The stand in goalkeeper was to receive the first clean bonus of the season, but I wonder if we will see him again , he did nothing wrong although the Spanish tenancy to punch the ball away , rather than catch , was much in evidence. Roger and out !- Lord Nimmo Smith
Some amount of Greenesque logic there. I have the same feeling for the Portsmouth fans too, they haven't asked for the problems they have had. And Plymouth, and Clydebank, and Airdrie, and Port Vale, Wimbledon etc etc. Been a Kingsmills Jaggie, I never asked for Caledonian to be added to my club, but have had to move on. Doesnt stop me believing we could have achieved our progress with out the merger. If Thistle or Caledonian had got into the scottish league themselves, they would have completely outgrown the others left in the Highland league, and become the dominant force in the Highlands. But as so many original Caley fans profess, its still not the same as if they still had their original club. Our current home strip takes the biscuit for me, not only does it obliterate Thistle, but it reminds me of Rangers Maybe the merger was handled badly - as an outsider looking in, Maybe a new name like Inverness on it's own, or a new tag like Highlanders, would have been better. I can understand the fans wanting to hang on to history, but clubs do evolve, see Newton Heath, or Royal Arsenal , or Ardwick , history is important,! To get back on topic, it is history that has bogged Rangers down. The new set up should dump history, at Ibrox, it is tarnished beyond belief. M K Dons sent all the medals cups and regelia to the Town Hall at Merton. They had the faith to make a new start and leave the old Wimbledon behind. So should Rangers hanging on to the past will only get in the way. Glasgow is a glorious City reconised throughout the world. Rangers owners should show it and their fans the respect they deserve. http://www.theglasgowstory.com/storyd.php- Lord Nimmo Smith

Surely the salient point is as the judge says below " Lord Nimmo Smith has launched a strongly worded defence of his tribunal, due to rule on Rangers' Employee Benefit Trust payments" If there is coruption it goes farther than Rangers. It is just not about Rangers but against tax dodging, There may be a cancer throughtout UK football, we don't know the half of it.- Lord Nimmo Smith

Whatever is agreed should be reciprocated for the next match betwween the two clubs in Dingwall , Ganders and Geese come to mind- Is Butcher the Man for the Job?
I hope it will get better too but I'm 100% sure we won't get any points from Aberdeen tomorrow. ;) Laurence is a divvy The coop gives us Divvy We need a dividend todayi I will be supporting a different team today, definitely not supporting ICT. "Ah well" I can put it down to old age? My 70th year But I can't because as a young man I travelled to Tranmere from Rossendale when the match was off I once went to Bury for a night match in the freezing cold , to find out the game had been played in the afternoon I had my ticket for the Chelsea v Wimbledon semi-final , I was buying my train ticket , when the booking clerk noticing my scarf said " You do know the match was this morning ; and Chelsea won and your team lost." It was a nice train journey anyway, and I got back in time to watch Murray But I am a Divvy that's for sure- Is Butcher the Man for the Job?

You can argue this way or that way You can talk about mistakes made in the past till you are blue in the face The fact remains and all would agree including the manager there has to be an improvement A poor result against Aberdeen tomorrow will reduce the players moral to zero I don't have an answer. I just keep hoping it will get better.- Is Butcher the Man for the Job?
Don't see how a players antecedence is of any importance, as long as he can play.- Is Butcher the Man for the Job?
Let us try to evaluate Terry Butcher logically His strenths Determination Bravery Optimism Past Performance as a player Tutored by Bobby Robson, at Ipswich and in an England shirt Promotion Knowledge of the Scottish game both club level and Scottish International coaching duties His weakness's Prior to ICT low level of management sucess Relegation Poor reaction to Critics and supporters Over confidence Lack of a good Assistant manager Poor coaching of set pieces Needs a good first team coach to work with him Seems to have personality clashes with senior players From my point of view ICT do need to get a new face into the coaching staff There are a lot of technical issues that need to be addressed. The team need to sharpen up on their passing skills, on closing down, on marking , and on set pieces. I won't make a comment on whether he should go or not, but things need to improve.. I remember Paul Merson saying after his spell as Walsall manager. " It is hard for an International player to understand, how lesser players think and play , they really need someone of their own background to coach them,* I feel Terry Butcher is thinking like an International and Rangers centre back. Enough said- NFL about to start

I thought Celtic never got out of 3rd gear . They were never pressed, untill the last 10 minutes when they had all their reserves on. I think Celtic are playing much better this season than they have played for years. They are so very relaxed, they have a no fear attitude brought upon by the diapearance of Rangers. They are playing without totally without pressure knowing they will walk the league and fortune beckons in Europe.. Having said all that, I see no reason to believe we will not compete in this league , "there is only one Celtic".- ICT v CELTIC - 25/08/12
MY PERCEPTION OF THE GAME WAS THAT WE WERE OUTCLASSED BY A MUCH BETTER TEAM. fASTER IN MIDFIELD AND BETTER CONTROLLERS OF A FOOTBALL However we played better than we did against Kilmarnock, the difference was ICT was punished for their mistakes , which Killie didn't do. I get the impression we should narrow the pitch. We have no wide men capable of using such a wide pitch, so why provide the opposition of Celtic's quality the room to exploit our fragile fullbacks The boy Draper has great qualities, I am sure he will thrive as the season continues. One begins to think how good our northern neighbours are when we consider how close they came to a victory against Celtic. No need to worry though , I am sure we can consolidate, not many teams in this league can compete with Celtic. Doom and gloom by the fans after this result is a bit previous I feel. - Roberts
