Season Ticket Info
Apologies if this has already been seen or discussed. Found an article on Sky Sports with information about season tickets for the 10/11 season. A 10% discount has been introduced for holders who bought tickets this season. Haven't seen anything on here or the OS about this so can only assume this hasn't been discussed yet. Again, sorry if it has. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11782_6164320,00.html

Dundee in dire straits
Well I would laugh but I don't want to waste my breath as the air is thinner at altitude. The Dundee fans can have a good long laugh at themselves though, if they so wish. At least they can do so safe in the knowledge that we won't be able to hear them from all the way up here.

9 released from Sheffield United
Not seen much of Camara since he left Southampton. Did well at St Mary's Stadium and could do well in a lesser SPL team.

Haha! And Wayne Thomas, he could well be Rossco's long lost brother. Legend has it that he once kicked a horse on the chin. The descendants of that horse are known to this day as giraffes.

Experienced pro's from down south
Out of the 13 that are being released i only know that Olly Lancashire is a goalscorer but not sure on the rest, maybe SotonCaleyFan can help us out by telling us about these guys In regard to KP, i would be delighted to see us sign him as he is a goalscorer also and had a good spell in Scotland with St Johnstone. Gladly Olly Lancashire is a centre back, and a bit of a liabilty. Did ok on loan at Grimsby this season and scored a couple of goals, but my heart has been in my mouth every time he's been on the ball in the heart of the Saints defence. Chris Perry is a CB, but at 37 his legs have just about gone. Rumours that he'll stay at Southampton in a coaching role. Graeme Murty was brought in on a one year deal last summer and has been injured for about 3/4 of that time. Will probably retire in the summer. Wayne Thomas is yet another CB and a very good one. Strong, reliable, and built like a tank. Some say when he does a push up, he isn't pushing himself up, he's pushing the Earth down. And that he once ate an entire bottle of sleeping pills. They made him blink. Jon Otsemobor is a RB. Known as Semi, partly because 'Sem' is part of his name, but also because he doesn't really do much. Lloyd James can play at either RB or CM. He's a great prospect and a serious Saints fan so I was surprised he was released. Simon Gillett is a CM and the jury's out to be honest. He spent most of this season on loan to Doncaster and I personally don't rate him. Michael Poke is a young goalkeeper who spent the last year and a half on loan at Torquay. Always looked good when I've seen him play for Saints and Torquay. Think he was voted Torquay's player of the year this season. Jake Thomson can play anywhere across the midfield. Another youngster who didn't really play enough and went on loan to Torquay as well. Kayne McLaggon is a striker and I and many other Saints fans I know were very disappointed that he was released. Great prospect and an England under-19 player. Captained the under-18s. Spent last season on loan to non-league Eastbourne Borough. Jamie White is a....er.....I have no idea. Not even sure who he is to be honest. Tom Dunford. I honestly haven't the foggiest. I didn't even know he existed until this list was published by the club. Jack Boyle is, I think, a midfielder. Came from the Channel Islands and signed for Saints 2 years ago after impressing in a friendly between Saints and a Channel Island XI. Never saw enough of him to pass comment, but didn't particularly do anything wrong.

Ross County
Agree. Good luck to them, I'm not really fussed either way, but they've done really well to get to the final. Imagine next season: Ross County v Manchester City, Europa League Final. On second thoughts...

Pre Season tour
Think I mentioned this in a previous thread, but I would love to see a friendly against Southampton. It would be great to see both of my teams playing each other. I guess I'd hope for a score draw

What's our worth?
Exactly. ?3m is obscene. ?90,000 - ?300,000 is worse than peanuts. If Rooney has another 20+ goals season next season he should be worth at least ?1m to a top end Championship/lower end Prem team. Likewise Hayes and Foran if they carry on this season's form and better it next season.

Engerland or Ross C**nty
Don't think that would happen to be honest. Yes, County would be in the Europa League, but how far does anyone think they'll get, really? Our prospects are much better in the SPL than County's are in European competition against the likes of Liverpool, Aston Villa, Fulham, Man City, Atletico Madrid, Shaktar Donetsk et al. Anyone who would even consider switching alliegance from Caley to County on this basis is mental and needs serious psychiatric help and a nice long stay in a padded cell.

Engerland or Ross C**nty
Haha! Honestly, I wish them well. Pompey deserve a bit of fortune after this season of turmoil. Having said that however, as a Saints fan and a realistic sort of chap, I think it will be one of the most one-sided FA Cup finals in history. As for Forest, I really want Blackpool to go up. Everyone loves an underdog story and they deserve it more than Forest IMO. Will be watching it tonight on Sky Sports cheering on the Seasiders! :021:

Engerland or Ross C**nty
You've spelt England wrong twice in your poll. And yes, you will be hearing about it over and over and over and over again if it happens. From me. Personally I do not think we will win it. Of course we won't. But why can't we be proud of our country without Scotland hating us for being proud? Scots are supposedly one of, if not the most patriotic nations in the world. Yet when we talk up our chances it's not patriotism, it's arrogance. Being half English, half Scottish, I follow the fortunes of both nations with passion. I and most other people I know would certainly support Scotland if they played in a major competition and England didn't. Shame the sentiment isn't shared. Rant over.

1st game of new season - who do you want?
would echo that would love to have the news that we have beaten them 2-0 again too I was bowling when that scoreline came through. We were in one of the end lanes next to the bar and the enormous tv screen with Soccer Saturday on it. As I bowled I heard Jeff Stelling announce that "Inverness have beaten Aberdeen for the first time in their history!" and the initial elation from bowling a strike was then propelled through the roof by this news and half the people in the building looked in our direction!

6 players let go
Interesting line up there, chances of any of those in bold font coming? Butcher is at Turf Moor tomorrow but I reckon Bendiksen would be my main bet, followed by Van Zanten. Excellent. We'll have Alexander, Fletcher and Eagles please. Gotta have a few squad players to fill the bench.

Supporting England?!?
Actually, I consider Scotland to be my second international team. I am half English, half Scottish, so I support Scotland as passionately as I support England. I hate the animosity between our two nations. It's petty and pathetic. We don't have to support each other, but do we have to hate each other? I don't particularly like Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Celtic and Rangers. But when any of them are playing in Europe, I will always want them to win, being British. Unless they're playing each other, then I pick the one I hate the least.
