  1. to add.... im sure robbos stats minus the games at pittodrie will make better reading in comparison to CB and CC's records
  2. gretnas run could be repeated by anybody, thats the beauty of the cup, its all in the draw the fact they then went on to get hosed on by stephen kenny in the first round shouldnt matter a sh1te, they earned the right to be there as scotlands cup representatives remember scotty, not too long ago we were a goal or two away from playing in europe by the same mechanism, its disappointing to hear we wont be in that position again
  3. almost right cozmo, replace 'confident' for 'brainwashed' :004: he is a hero of mine. look at his hair, definitely one for the ladies
  4. another soundbite from the professor goes something like "goalkeepers have a 43% chance of saving the ball if they stand still compared to just 30% chance, if they move" here he is trying to calculate the chance arsenal have of winning the league (as a percentage) in the next 10 years
  5. like anything else that happens on a football field, taking penalties is 95% skill and about 5% confidence. the person who takes the best pens in training should take them on the match day, it sounds too simple but its proven to work. the german national team practice penalty taking an hour a day before big cup matches, they perfect hitting the ball low and hard into a corner, by taking hundreds of penalties until they werent missing them anymore. by the time they end up in a shootout theyre so drilled and set in their style of kicking that their footballing autopilot takes over the nerves, they then step up and slot the thing away. arsene wenger talks about it in his book, he believes that preparing for a penalty shootout not only makes a player a better penalty taker but it also strengthens his confidence when the time comes to step up and decreases nerves during extra time. he also points out that players should be taught to hit the ball low on penalties, as they arent likely to sky it under the goal :015: anybody who has ever been in a situation where they are under intense pressure, no matter the audience, will afterwards know how critical the relationship between practice and performance is. if we practice kicking the ball 12 yards at the goalkeeper, then we will get better at it, there will be nerves of course but the more prep thats done the better
  6. :sillywave: i shouldve said before, i wasnt expecting the downloaded pdf to be flashy at all but a decent poster or 50 in public spaces around inverness wouldnt go a miss. for marketing individual events, such as gigs, poster campaigns can be effective in raising awareness and can lead to increased numbers through the door, as most who see the thing may not even know the events happening for events so regular that most people know the venue/time/price such as an ict home game (which lets not forget, is flagged up all over the tv, national and local press as all spl games are) then these posters merely serve as reminders, which is no bad thing when done right. im all for reminding the city of inverness that we exist, im all for giving them the information they may need to attend as we used to with the pub efforts... but im not up for this at all, its tacky and displays arrogance on the clubs part. whoever okay'd this idea must believe the clubs image locally is so assured, so unaffected by the normal rules that determine consumer reactions to any form of marketing, that they can shove any old tack into the hands of a fan who only wants the best for the club and get away with it. must do better :018: over reaction? :001:
  7. something about this doesnt sit right with me, cant quite put my finger on it. appears cheap and a bit patronising to be honest, cant imagine these posters having any effect at all on numbers through the turnstiles, nor does it add anything to the ict brand besides a bit of annoying fly posting, its not like these posters will get chins wagging or turn heads. a case could be made for this and similar initiatives based purely on your roi, costs nowt and may give individual fans the chance to feel involved which i suppose is no bad thing cant give this my vote of confidence. get some posters of rankin celebrating against rangers or lifting the 1st division trophy, something people might want to be part of themselves.. we arent advertising a bbq sale for fecks sake, we need supporters not customers
  8. seen as its the international weekend, can we take bets on which county fan mcfcexile is?
  9. this sites gone mad
  10. seeking that recognition and being frustrated that the rest of scotland didnt see us put a shot wide on the bbc is evidence of having a small team mentalitiy! we dont have to prove ourselves to anybody, if we had won the game and the bbc had shown those highlights then youd have a case for being p1ssed off but otherwise it doesnt matter. how a falkirk, rangers or neutral fan ***** an ict defeat means very little to me and it should mean nowt to you too! :016: and i had to work saturday morning, there was no way of getting through to the game with any reasonable time to spare. my boss has discovered that ive been drawing up escape plans and has done her best to put a hault to it, shes even stopped me having days off so i wont go looking for work in person! saturday was one of those days. ive no idea when the next match ill get to will be, dont fancy celtic much so a trip home could be on the cards against hearts, ill let you buy me a drink with the money i gave you last week if the innes still exists
  11. does it really merit the wagging finger smiley though heres the facts - hibs 1 ict 0. they dont count brownie points in the spl, hence why attendance figures, shots on target or the quality of pies means hee-haw to me when my clubs rock bottom of the league i will admit its nice to see us play well or have a few shots on target in the highlights, when we win, otherwise they dont get a second thought
  12. couldnt have picked a better draw to be honest. we will go into the game showing the opposition alot of respect, which will inevitably lead to us crushing them 4-0, wiping out whatever little confidence they had in their ability to stay in this league once and for all so far every team thats come up against gretna have said they are the worst spl team theyve seen in years, we'll need to prove it!
  13. im sure the soft penalty and going down to 10 men didnt help but thats something our players need to get used to through there. they wont win many games maybe elgin will sort it out one day :017:

terrible signing. he was awful in the first division last season
  20. i didnt know that, how the **** did that happen? you know i first heard 'the revolution will not be televised' from a documentary about the venezuelan government being overthrown about 4/5 years ago, then of course herons life work thereafter... all a whole half decade after bring it on home :001:
  21. im not surprised munro and bayne never played, both were favorites of brewster "" Fraser, Tokely, Watt, McCaffrey, McBain, Wilson, Black, Duncan, Cowie, Wyness, Nicuale Subs- McAllister, McDonald, Rankin, Morgan, Rigers."" to me that looks like he wanted to have a look at the following- watt, caff, mcbain, wyness, wilson, morgan, rankin, macdonald (did he play?) and cowie wouldnt read too much into the dropped players, if anything it means theyre already rated
  22. :015: superb stuff. thanks chris123! that song is awful but i love it, i forgot about the electropop synthy punk bit towards the end, made my day that lets get it back at TCS for the hearts game
  23. ive just booked my train ticket, shall be at ground zero by 1 oclock no doubt long before yourself :sillywave:
