Hibernian Away. Scottish Cup 4th Round
Hibernian 4/5 Draw 9/4 Inverness 3/1 Who remembers the Kilmarnock game we were supposed to win at 3/1? This'll be a draw.

I think Liverpool and Chelsea are both looking at new sites but you are correct in saying football stadiums should be within walking distance of civilization.

Hibernian Away. Scottish Cup 4th Round
Well I'll be present no doubt at all. :sillywave: My thoughts before the league game away to Hearts were that we would lose if we were complacent, took them lightly or lost concentration for a second, especially at set pieces. I also said that we should not rely on the referee to be as generous as he was to us versus Celtic..... All of the above I'd apply to this cup game aswell. The game next Saturday will be a welcome break from league business for Hibs. Though they are playing shockingly just now we have also lost our last two away games, regardless of the manner of defeat a 1-0 registers the same result as a 4-0, we've been lucky in that the festive congestion allowed us to bounce back against the two poorest sides at home quickly. Our next games after the cup is versus Rangers and away to Motherwell, theres every chance that whatever momentum we've been able to carry through the Aberdeen and Falkirk defeats will be wiped out and the clubs challenging for the top 6 will start to open up a small gap on us, leaving us stranded somewhere in between Falkirk and the bottom 3 by February. Obviously we're all enjoying the tussle for position between the mid table clubs, we have to make it last as long as possible and not let the next handful of fixtures put us in a position where we're chasing, to give us some hope of points versus Rangers a draw is the least we need next weekend, where we then stand in our relation to Motherwell will dictate our approach and expectations from them (they do have a couple of difficult games in hand). An argument can be made that getting knocked out of the SC will give us some focus on the league, but theres no substitute for the positivity thatll come from a cup win in Edinburgh, we'd also be giving the weakest of the challengers for a top 6 spot a serious confidence blow. My own opinion is that we have an equal chance of reaching the top 6 and a Hampden semi final, if we're professional and hungry to win every ball in every game then we will achieve both. It's up to Brewster to get our heads straight, make sure everybody is 110% fit physically and mentally. Hibs 1 ICT 2

Hibs Cup Game KO
It was the 6 nations last year, Scotland were playing Wales at Murryfield, every bar and street in Edinburgh was packed. Over that weekend I met dozens of Welsh people (for the first time) and can honestly say in hindsight that not a single one of them I'd consider a normal person :015: Every one of them was a bit strange.. and not necessarily in an interesting or quirky sense, never had any hassle from them (nor did I see them getting into bother with anybody) but next time the fixture comes around and they are playing in Edinburgh I will most likely spent the weekend elsewhere. I am a tolerant person and I do give almost everybody I meet a fair crack of the whip but the Welsh I met over the 48 hour period seriously seriously pushed me in a way I would never have expected possible. It isnt Wales the rugby team are up against is it?!

ICT -V- Gretna : matchday thread

Caley must win
The 4-0 game was a bit of a strange one, had we not scored in the first few minutes from the spot and then from a free kick then it couldve been very different. Our last two goals came during a period the game opened up for both sides to get shots in, McBains on another day wouldve been palmed over the bar. We comfortably deserved to win that game but the goals were all marginal aside from Barrys move, the set pieces were both brilliantly taken, but we wont score every free kick or get every decision our way. We didnt create more than 1 clear cut chance that day, we've played better. :029: All said I'd be disappointed if we didnt beat them tomorrow again, after the Aberdeen game theres no question motivation will be high, I think we'll score in the first half and see the game out, maybe making it 2-0 late on. We have to be on top form at the back, no slip ups and no mistakes, Gretna cannot take the lead..

The Stadium Trust
Thats something nobody ever talks about when this thread cycles around. Personally I like our stadium and emotionally would only be happy if it moved back to the side of the river its supposed to be on, of course if the figures were laid out to me in black and white in favor of a move elsewhere then I suppose itd be difficult to say no. Certainly the day we do leave will be emotional, maybe not as the first stadium move but we've all seen some moments at the CS, there will come a day when coming out of Harbour Road will not be greeted with the floodlights on the other side of the A9 and a string of freezing cold punters shuffling as fast as they can to get out of the wind. Actually saying that, in summer the setting is beautiful, lounging around with the feet up at pre-season games in the main stand are among the highlights of the season, doubt youll ever see a sunset of any kind over the quarry. :015:

Marius check
We're getting just about spot on now with what I considered our best starting 11 months ago, Bayne and Marius were always going to play well together. Just as Rankin, Cowie and Black do, all of those players bring out the superb best in eachother.

Dons roll call
Enjoy the game everybody, I'll be listening online :019:

Bayne
I actually think IHE is in tune with some of the nonsense I've heard about Bayne recently. The more we've been playing it on the deck the more the comments on his style have started to change, with some even going as far as BLAMING him for playing long balls forward! I have to support IHE's pre-emptive strike on Baynes future critics. He's proven loads of times now he can finish and play football, he is intelligent with the ball and adds an edge to our game that we sometimes lack. As it happens I thought he was quieter than usual coming on v Hearts and if he hadnt struck the final shot so sweetly then the comments on this site wouldve had a totally different tone, the pass he made to open up Barry on the right wouldve been forgotten, in that position Nicolae wouldve take it for a shot on his left foot (hich would still have probably gone in now I think of it!)

Anyone Going to Falkirk then??
Shame the Falkirk and Killie games arent the other way round, both are games with lots of goals but nobodies going to see the close one :015:

Russell's 10th
As posted on Pie and Bovril I fully believe he put himself so far out of position and deliberately went for the keeper for his sending off, we were 2-1 up at the time and it shouldve been enough to win the game, turned out to be, as Baynes drive was right at the stand in who couldnt react. I've been harsh to Duncan in the past but he was top class yesterday, that move near the end topped the goal, which I'm taking the credit for :001: I clocked his run while the ball was still out n the left and stood with my arms up around the seated folk who mustve thought i was mental for a few seconds before the ball flew past the keeper. I've celebrated goals a couple of touches too early in the past and theyve all gone in.
