Team for Hearts game
Whoever is selected to play on Saturday will have to be on their toes in whats always been a difficult fixture for us, we've won 4 games in a row and beaten 3 of the top 5 sides in the league but due to our terrible start to the season we still need to pick up more points if we are to remain clear of relegation. Hearts have an excellent squad this year with some obviously excellent individuals, they are a side who could turn anytime soon and will likely target us to do just that, dont kid yourselves into thinking we're world beaters, we were excellent on Sunday but we arent the first club to beat Celtic this season, just a week before the drew 1-1 with second bottom of the table! We should take nothing for granted, Hearts on paper remain a better side than us despite their lack of a manager, ICT being pumped 4-0 by Hearts will ruin all the hard work that was put in v Celtic. We're been picking up momentum this past few weeks that should carry us through the difficult festive period, I would hate to see that ruined now by the slack defensive errors that were cropping up earlier in the year, we'll have to be in top gear for 90 minutes to take a point back up the road, nevermind even thinking about 3. We have to score at least once because I think we will concede, we seem to be weaker at defending set pieces than ever, Hearts are shower of diving munts :017: We're not likely to get the same marginal decisions away from home as we did on Sunday (ie challenges on keepers, offsides) and need to hold discipline. If we're going to be playing the offside trap then it has to be spot on, if Fraser comes for the ball he has to win it, Tokely cant go steaming up the pitch ever 2 minutes. We should stick with the same side that has won the last few games, Barry Wilson could be key coming off the bench if its tight going into the last 25 minutes, he needs to be used well. We have to stay clever and play hard, try and play however a team does when they 'play for a draw', our breaks will come, as will our chances from set pieces. If we dont take them thats fine by me, aslong as we remain shut at the other end. At this moment in time I'd take a draw, given that we have winnable fixtures v Falkirk and Killie coming up, I've no doubt that on the 2nd of January when we visit our old stadium that we'll still bel 2 points of Aberdeen, everything will be set up perfectly for us to finally beat them and claim our place in the top 6 for 2008.

Michael Frasers save
Aye, Munro, Fraser and Cowie were all excellent today. Looking forward to next week, its upto CB to the get the lads heads in gear for another difficult away tie, if we approach it right then we'll win Time to just get it done. To stay within 3 points of Aberdeen for the new year game and top 6 will be ours.

When you see the highlights youll see just how well he really did, outstanding to make the diving save and to then clear it with his legs on the ground was brilliant.

ICT V Celtic : Matchday Thread
Proctors red card was as good as scoring a goal for us, no complaints from me and I applauded him off quite loudly in a pub full of angst ridden Cleptic fans in Dumbartonshire :clapping03:

Site Suggestions and Ideas.....
PS. If anybody wants to relive old times on Rivals.net, and remind themselves just how shocking a setup it was, then your old ICT login details still work! The format hasnt changed a jot in the last 100 years. [edit to add link: http://web.archive.org/web/20010304171510/...tle.rivals.net/]

Site Suggestions and Ideas.....
The reason that we got away fans on was becos we were bickering, showing animosity and downright rudeness - at least I was - now I fear moderation. :blah01: The reason we had more Livi, Peterhead and Ayr fans on the go was because there was a drop down menu linking us to every other team who had a Rivals site in the UK, not only was it easy to visit but once somebody registered for their own teams site they didnt have to re-register to go wandering. If Registration wasnt required on this site and it was more widely known amongst the support of other SPL clubs, then we'd have loads of different supporters kicking about. Pie and Bovril is used by about 2 dozen users from this site and hundreds of other fans from clubs all over Scotland, so why the **** would a Hearts, St Mirren or Killie fan go through the bother of registering for here when anything ICT related can be talked over on there. How many of the users on this site have registered with another clubs site? I know theres a few who are members on overthebridge, I'm registered on livilions, Hibs.net, followfollow and blackandwhitearmy (St Mirren) but I can count the number of times I visited those sites on one hand, I would say that even with a half dozen (6 fingers?) visits to other pages I've now done it more than 95% of this sites users. So we shouldnt complain when others dont appear on here.

Bring it on home, Bring it on home

Hearts Away
We can sit and enjoy a grand debate with a bottle of grog. We are a couple of intelligent, mature and debonair gentlemen. Hope blackieforce can make it. Can we just share the grog? :017:

Team for game against Celtic
I dont actually agree with that IHE, I think you have to judge a system or tactic on the number of clear cut chances you create, if the goals we'd scored in our last three wins were all as good as the one v St Mirren or the 4th v Gretna then I would definitely say stick with the 451. No doubting the quality of the finish from Black v United and Maximus' goals on Saturday but there was a fair degree of luck involved in all three. If having more men in midfield and a less gun-ho right back keeps us steady at the back then theres no reason to change things for the Celtic game, there has to be room for improvement though. We wont be lobbing keepers from 20+ yards every weekend, we can punish Celtic out wide if we want to and need to use Rankin and Cowie more out wide. The current system seems to work as it allows our most important players to play in their best positions, Black and Rankin especially, which makes the back 4 and Duncans job easier. Thats not to say that if we dont make changes and we go onto lose I wont be satisfied, after three wins too nil its impossible to complain too harshly.

Team for game against Celtic
Wilson and Bayne are too huge players for us on the bench, both are capable of changing games in the second half and as above, if it isnt broken then dont fix it. If there is to be a change then it should be Rankin taking McBains place and Wyness coming into Rankins.

Did we shoot ourselves in the foot?
I think we should be actively trying to pull in people from around Inverness, we should sell/give away blocks of season tickets to schools in Ross Shire and right down the Moray firth and let them rotate who gets which games. The name of the team, with Inverness included, will in the long run have a bigger pull to those 6 fingered weirdos than any name without Inverness. As for reaching to extreme out lying areas, well who really cares, we'll never compete with the media coverage the Old Firm get and ultimately thats how the vast majority of these people will stay 'in touch' with their clubs. These forgotten places, like the place Buckett lives, should stay forgotten. The sad thing about the clubs lack of activity in trying to bring in more out of town(or in) punters is that right now is the time we have to do it, infact it may have already passed, we need to seriously find a way to push season ticket sales in areas as far east as Elgin and upto Tain. The only reasons for not doing this are laziness and complacently, thats aimed at the supporters trust aswell as those employed by the club, inexcusable. :018:

Happy Yet?
I've no idea how I'd feel if we won 5-0 at Ibrox, I've only ever seen us win 1-0 there, I'll give it some thought :029: I apologise if I've offended you Blackieforce, I've always thought you were funny, especially on Pie and Bovril. Its been a long time since I've had a proper moan about anything since Christie left, I've barely said anything despite the enormous number of negative ICT topics being churned out this year. As has always been the case, I only ever say something when I have an opinion on it, if you happen to disagree with it then its your prerogative to do so and to say what you like in reply. It'd be great if I had the influence to push any kind of agenda on here, be it negative or positive, but I dont and therefore dont ***** about any old subject just to bring the rest of you down.

Booing of McAllister
Theres no need to be patronising 12thMan, the boo boys are followers of ICT just as you are (dont give me any nonsense about them not being true 'supporters' please, I do get it). Without wanting to sound too dramatic I'm surprised that so many on here are condemning freedom of speech, as much as booing Rory after being out for so long in a bloody warm up leaves a bad taste in my mouth, the posts making reference to what it says on the back of the match ticket, with the hint that some would try to get the stewards involved if it happens again, leaves an equally sour taste. I think the boo boys should leave it next time, theyve had their say and so have Rorys supporters, next time a decision is being made by Brewster that fans disagree with then the booing should be aimed at him or those above him. We wouldnt be the first group of fans to call for a manager or chairmans head. As it happens I think the booing of Mcallister was more of a reaction to EVERYTHING that appears to be going wrong at ICT rather than at the lad himself, giving him pelters for for somebody elses decision making just isnt fair. If there is booing then I suggest those who disagree with it make their feelings known by cheering him through the abuse, rather than getting the baton swingers involved. Going to the stewards sets a dangerous precedent and gives them a license to 'clamp down' on anything thats pissing the ICT establishment off.
