Michael Fraser
Yet its yourself and Johnboy who have just posted the off topic messages :029: Unless the local press pick up on this or another poster comes up with the 20th version of the weekends events, then I think this topic has just about ran its course.

Michael Fraser
.......All of this shouldnt distract from the fact that although both are young players, Fraser and McAllister are both gash at SPL level.

Rankin Can Go
If the right defender was available, we would pay the price for them and offload the loan signings to make way for extra wages, not selling/offloading Rankin has no bearing whatsoever on our ability to bring in a new player. How you could possibly say Markus Paatelainen, who has only ever shown good form at Cowdenbeath and hardly impressed despite scoring two goals in one of his rare fit periods last season, who isnt even in Scotland, is better than a proven goalscorer, playmaker, former under 21 international captain and match winner is ridiculous. How could you then possibly claim that Barry Wilson is MORE valuable to the squad than Rankin? At Rankins age, Wilson was nowhere near the player John is today and at Barrys age he should accept being told we need him to make way to free up wages, should we have to. Roy McBain and Alan Morgan arent in the same league as John Rankin. I'm afraid to say WynessLegend that your posts sound far to 'on message' as Tony Blair would say and difficult to take seriously.

Rankin Can Go
How much do you really think Rankin is worth? Do you honestly believe hes worth more than ICT would already be prepared to pay for a good enough defender? What kind of quality defender can you buy with 30k? In Scotland, to get a decent defender, we'd be looking at 100k minimum, if we werent going for a free transfer. Your entitled to your opinion but I'm also entitled to say its absolute rot big chap.

Rankin Can Go
WynessLegend, not one of those players is better than Rankin on the left hand side or in the middle. I'm disgusted by this decision for too many reasons. I hope Rankin scores a hat trick against us next time hes in Inverness. If the fans views arent being listened to on this site, then make them known at the game, I'd suggest a chorus of 'One John Rankin' and should we go behind to St Mirren a fair ' Brewster, get to f##k' :022:

Doesnt Craig Brown have the best record of any Scotland manager?

Reserve game today
It's a sign of the times that when I read that Dean was unwell and never played, I straight away assumed there was something more suspicious and sinister going on... :029: TM4TJ is right, its not the reserve team we should be worrying about just now.

John Rankin
Sounds like a load of pish to me LG. Brewster hasnt got a clue about team structure unless hes playing within it, hes showed us a few times now hes whinging it, theres no evidence to say that him dropping Black, Marius, Rankin, Dean or whoever else is next for the chop being tactical. Rankin is one of our best players, hes one of the 4 players in the team who could leave and be guaranteed at least SPL football, to let him go is pure madness. If Craig Brewster really does believe that Alan Morgan, Roy McBain or Barry Wilson are better options on the left hand side then he is clearly in the wrong job, John Rankin is head and shoulders above all of them. If it is Brews ego and his mandatory pre pubescent feet stomping thats dictating team selection, as others have suggested, then it needs to be checked now, or we'll lose half the bloody team.

Scotland -V- Italy
Met somebody from the flight taking the Italian team north. The good news is BA are on our side and locked all their luggage up and flew it back to London on arrival. We probably shouldnt wind them up.

MyFootballClub.com
I had a dream last night//this morning that I owned the club, we played in yellow and only played Scottish Cup games.. we had a B team in the Highland league and the Blue and Red ICT team shared the yellow teams ground in sneck but competed in the English leagues..

Can Scotland do it...?
IF all else fails we'll get invited back to Japan to win the Kiren Cup again :002: I'm sick of being a disappointed and cynical Scotland fan, its been 10 years, its about time we just went out a bloody did it. We've won big games for years and qualified for dozens of tournaments bigger than feckin Austria 2008 :017: Didnt we try to host the event when the bids were going around? Lets get it up them and qualify, then draw Austria or Switzerland, take over their stadiums and knock them out on their arses.

Brewster
Agree. Unless its St Mirren who are bottom then I'll have to chop my balls off and eat them. Think theyd let me get away with just one if we avoid relegation?
-
New Striker for St Midden game
I think hes saying he agrees we should be playing Marius and Bayne together up front. When ICT players get injured or sent off it usually takes them about 8 matches to return to the side, shame I'll have to wait a few more months...

Top men so far
Cowie, Black and Wilson are stand outs. Wyness has scored 7 times in all competitions.

who goes you decide....
His name isnt Russeldinho :017: As I've said before (and already once today) his position in the middle is probably the most important in the team, or at least it should be. I think we can do better. Do you think we should let Rankin go?
-
who goes you decide....
I think Black is a much better defensive midfielder and is wasted as the 'creative' one, the few times we've played Rankin and Black in the middle theyve been brilliant. I'd move Duncan on and bring in a better player for the position as backup to Black. It's all well holding a position and being available for a pass, but the holding midfilder should be able to make a tackle and win the ball cleanly, Duncan doesnt do that aswell as Black, when he does win the ball it always ends up spinning off for a throw in at best. No. Its an important position, we should be looking to bring in somebody better or play Black in that role.
-
who goes you decide....
Roy Macbain - keep Barry Wilson - till end of season Ian Black - keep forever Richie Hart - keep Alan Morgan - keep Russel Duncan - let go Don Cowie - keep John Rankin - KEEP! Zander Sutherland - keep Markus Paatelainen - let go Garry Wood - keep Iain Vigurs - keep Heres my favorite bit of cut and pate material Zibi Roscoe - Munro - Mguire - Hastings Cowei - Black - Rankin - Morgan Bayne - Nicolae We will get there eventually!

Managerial Question
Robertson won us 2 trophies and got us into the SPL, he also got us through the Pittodrie spell and to Hampden twice. He signed Bayne, Dods, Black, Bingham, Proctor and Morgan for free (off the top of my head.. Hastings? Dargo? Wyness?) and was the first ICT manager to add a sense of purpose, team spirit and drive to our play. In terms of admitting errors of judgment, I really cant remember. In Brewsters current spell, he may have very questionable team selections but so far he appears to make an effort in change things after mistakes, even if he doesnt talk about it openly on Radio Scotland.

Reading squad shells out for fans
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ing/7078716.stm Reading players will subsidise the trip for fans visiting Manchester City on 24 November - partly because of the club's inconsistent start to the season. The Royals squad, currently 12th in the Premier League, have donated ?5,000 to supporters heading to Eastlands. Reading captain Graeme Murty told BBC Sport: "We know that at the moment we are massively inconsistent. "It's not easy to justify spending so much money to watch us perform and this is giving something back to the fans." Steve Coppell's side have endured a difficult beginning to their second season in the top flight and following their 3-1 defeat at Fulham on Saturday are only five points clear of the relegation zone. "I would be lying if I said that the poor start didn't enter certain people's thinking," said Murty, who is in his 10th season at the Berkshire club. "It can't be good going to places like Fratton Park and coming out after a 7-4 loss wearing a Reading shirt. "But more than that there has been a growing realisation among the players of how expensive it is, especially for parents who bring their kids to a game." Reading froze their season-ticket prices for the 2007-08 campaign yet they have to date seen attendances fall slightly. They now intend to recognise those who follow them around the country. The first 350 fans who book the journey on the official supporters' trust coaches will pay ?5 for their travel instead of the normal ?20. The move comes after a week in which the Sports Minister Gerry Sutcliffe claimed sky-high wages and ticket prices in top-flight football are alienating fans. "Ordinary working people who want to see Manchester United face being priced out," said Sutcliffe. "There is a danger that there will be a move away from the game and we don't want to be in a position where people are alienated." Murty pointed out that the subsidisation of travel may not become a regular offering but added: "We decided that it would be a nice gesture if we could get behind the fans the way they get behind us and try to alleviate that financial burden. "The players had the ultimate say-so over whether we did it or not. It's not something we've been ordered to do, it's something that as a group of people we felt was right. "We feel, not guilty, but that we a have a little bit of responsibility towards that cost. I'm not saying it's getting beyond a joke, the level of cost, but it certainly is almost taking the game away from its roots. "If that eventuality ever comes to pass then football is going to be the only loser. If you take the game away from the common person in the street then football is going to go downhill from there on."

RadioWatch ....
""As far as I can tell the only things that work are to either dial in to a UK service provider or to have someone `shoutcast`from the UK. The first is expensive, the second chews up so much bandwidth that the shoutcaster will soon get a message from their ISP !"" How much bandwidth you talking here? My other line through smallworld (I think theyre called!) has a transfer rate of upto 30MB a second, it only gets used for newsgroups and other downloads, I'm sure something could be set up through that. I've had it at 22mb a second for over 24 hours, so I doubt theyd be calling me on a Saturday afternoon about a poxy 2 hour BBC stream.

RadioWatch ....
You know fine there must be an easy way round it! Do a search of all the bigger SPL forums for info, like followfollow.com or hibs.net ? Google the problem, bet theres thousands of people in the same position.

Barry dropped from squad
Relax :017: It's not liked hes been dropped off the bridge. We will lose tomorrow, if Barry wants to spend the day feeding ducks or going shopping in Tescos then he might aswell.
