  1. aberdeen were playing well and losing points while we're playing sh1te and losing points, big difference is that they were always going to turn it round and theres no sign of us doing the same. i think ict fans have had it too good csince the club was founded, biggest problems we've faced have been replacing managers which is nothing when you compare to the sorts of things dundee, partick, st johnston, st mirren and hearts have gone through. we've always had consistently excelent leadership at boardroom level and a playing squad better than we've been paying for, which is again credit to those at the top. the flipsid of that is most ict fans are used to things always working out ok in the end, never have we been in a situation where its all gone tits up and we've been skint, leaderless or relegated. think that might be why so many people apear to be 'burying their heads' on where we're going this year, the club isnt going to magically sort its shocking performances on the pitch out all on just because thats whats happened in the past, we need a comanding experierienced presence from the touchline and focus. we've had it all too good in the past and we've taken what we have now for granted collectively, now its time to work for it and prove that we have matured to the point were we arent one hit wonders (so to speeak) or another livingston. perhaps we need more from that excellent boardroom of ours to step in and save the club again, hire a manager who isnt affraid to drop his drinking buddies and knows how to get a tactic/message across to a team. charlie has to go now while we're ahead in the relegation battle, we shouldnt wait until we're were untied (or dunfirmline) were when they sacked their manager.
  2. whoever said we've been poor all seaosn is dead right, a late deflected shot from tokely and a dodgy free kick from rankin wouldve seen us another 4 points worse off than we are and in serious danger. im going to say this now and really set out where i am, call it a knee jerk reaction if you want, but charlie christie has to go now. if we get relegated it could be another 10 years before we get up again, whos prepared for that? playing poorly, with no drive or tactics and relying on luck/odgy goal mouth scrambles to score and collect points is getting us exactly where we deserve :007:
  3. my choice pre-sharlie was bobby williamson...he's experienced, strong, independant, knows the spl inside out, still had alot to prove.... nevermind we are where we are with regards to whos running things, you get what you pay for and all that..
  4. reading again whats been said about the manager and the state of the team has made it pretty clear where the biggest difference between those who apear to be anti-christie and those who apear fanatically pro-christie, its in what we all think will happen if he doesnt do well. im getting the impression those of you that back him so passionatly think the cost of cc not being upto scratch is we'll maybe finish about 8th or 9th, get knocked out of a cup early, lose a player or two and thats it. whereas myself and one or two more think that if he fails we'll get relegated and we'll have to potentionaly wait another 10 years for spl football to come back. all ill ask is that those passionate christie fans try and analyse our season overall, taking into account performances on the pitch, recent results and the current form of the improving teams below us. is christie doing a good enough job to keep us up? in my opinion no he isnt and id hope that most on here wouldnt be blind to that purely because they want to back the boss. also id hope that as has been said most will still say hes time to change things, just not as much time as many of his fans would wish for. using this '1st division squad' line again is not a defence of christie, we dont have a first division team anymore and havent for 2 years. our squad is good enough to challenge the top 6 and when we are on song can compete over 90 minutes with anybody in this league, we've proven it dozens of times. that doesnt necessarily mean our fortunes changing are inevitable though, somebody has to take real control of matters quickly before we start dropping even more points to our rivals. is christie upto the task? i seriously hope so, a continuation of miserable form will see us rock bottom by january and itll only get harder for him. the comment about other clubs laughing at this topic is dead right, ask any seasoned fan of a club like kimarnock, motherwell, dunfirmline etc if they think we made the right move in taking on charlie? think most who are totally neutral who say no, as every other club in scotland has had experience of club 'legends' falling flat on their ar$es once they get in the dugout. they could well be laughing at the pro christie gang as much as anybody else as they will have all read the script before. we'll be safe if we can play with determination and with a physical presence again, while not sacraficing decent football, its not rocket science, its upto cc now to prove we havent lost a major managerial gamble.
  5. where did i say i was brewster fan, any inexperienced managers wrong for us just now! christie has done ok so far, i never said he was a failure, just said it could easily happen. anybody who denies that is living in f#cking dreamland! "Thank God for people like absent friend. You are a breathe of fresh air and a welcome relief from the obsessive negativity of people like CH2 who seem to need football as a means of expressing there dis satisfaction. I think football managers play a very important part in society. How would people like CH2 otherwise find a means of moaning?" obsessive negativity? say consistant realism myself! dont get carried away when we jammy a win against a poor rangers side and dont have knee jerk reactions to toothless perfomrances like against motherwell, some of you guys need to get real to how close we are to slipping back into the mire that is the first division and whos fault that will ultimatley be. thats not a negative thing to say, its a mathematic fact. we arent there yet though, and cc has to justify this support hes getting now because he will never get another chance to do so
  6. back when ict first hired cc for the top job we all knew he was going to have to learn fast or be a miserable failure, in my opinion it was too much of a gamble as miserable failure will see us competing in an enviroment 100 times more competitive (on and off the park) than it ever was when we got promoted... fecks sake clyde almost won the league when we did. as we've been reminded so many times on this and many similar skeptic topics hes still in his first year, which means things are still poised to go either way. i just pray he justifies all the support hes been getting on here and proves himself, personally ive yet to see his influence on the park, he talks a good game but im not so easily sweet talked as some of you appear. dont want to say i fear the worst, but nobody on here should be fooled into thinking we arent involved in a relegation battle right now, losing could see the club set back years of positive developemnt. as ive said in the past, he hasnt proved himself at all yet, winning manager of the month means nothing to me, turnring things around now and getting the best of our squad again is the only way we'll survive this league ps. whoever made the comment about bonzo needed to take the glasses of or something regarding christie, then id strongly urge all the cc supporters to do the same.
  7. said it before but its that move that doesnt seem right to me, after so publicly backing the player for his fighting attitude on the park, surely he cant expect black to be aggressive and not get suspended
  8. seems like mixed messages to me, thats all, back him completley right up until he inevitably gets suspended then drop him. agree with johndo he has to start the yams match this saturday
  9. conjuring up conspiracy theories? :017: just think christies made a mistake
  10. how often have we heard christie praise black for his battling qualities and accepting that picking up yellows and reds over the season is just part of the black package, even going as far as saying hes been victimised by refs who know him only by (in my opinion completley deserved) reputation? shouldnt he have been consistent and continued to give him his support by putting him straight back into the heart of the midifled once available for selection again? blacks exclusion seems like a punishment to me, as theres no denying hes our best midfielder and theres no tactical advantage in leaving him on the bench. maybe he is trying to teach him a lesson, which would be ok by me had he not been so vocal in his support of his attitude on the park this season. another case of christie still learning the management game or do you think he genuinely felt that duncan deserved his chance ahead of him? maybe now we wont hear anymore post match praise for black, which would be a real shame. either way christies coming out of this looking bad, either by being inconsistent in wanting the team to battle but wont select those who will or is now putting down a marker that its no longer acceptable to break the rules in order to get a result... which would be f##king moronic in such a tight league

  12. hope youre taking the p1ss mate, hastings is one of our best players, he has pace and takles harder than anybody. most under rated player by a mile, team falls apart without him, macbain cant work the left hand side of the pitch when hes not there which lets the rest of the midfield slip. with a decent left sided midfielder (where is morgan anyway?) itd easily become or best route to goal
  13. ill never pretend to be an expert o nthese things, but the club must be crying out for more corporate/hospitality space. id imagine any future developments down that route would probably involve filling in the corners with the main stand a la livingstone tho
  14. itll be a last minute decision from me, 60/40 in favor of not going but then it only takes an hour and a half from here
  15. ..edinburgh tonight! come on inverness and well done john rankin, just been watching the scores on tv come in and honestly it feels like im in inverness now, absolutley fantastic, enjoy it :clapping04:
  16. :015: believe that when i see it
  17. I'm a big Graham Bayne fan, been calling for him to start since last March, I was delighted with the shift he put in on Saturday and never been happier to see him score. As Naelifts said he mustve run 100 miles, just what we need, brilliant. Must be a candidate for the armband once Dods leaves too maybe?
  18. Sounds like a good day at the office for the reserves again. Morgan ever goign to get a chance in the first team? Still crying out for a creative touch on the left
  19. well id apply but my bid to buy clach is still on track so no-can-do lg, dont want to be working for my sneck rivals, good luck johndo
  20. living within our means would be sensible business practise
  21. Is there a reason we're looking for even more investment? dont give me any mince about improving the squad or the ground etc, we dont need a bigger park and the squads made up of free transfers anyway! is there another plan with the further investment, or is it just to cover run of the mill costs like russel duncan, golabek, wyness et alls wages :017:
  22. wow thats pretty embarrassing
