  2. Good points IHE!, my theory why we don't have the Quality in the 'yoof' nowadays is lifestyle is as follows: Unfortunately it is very much a sign of the times. How often nowadays do you see the youngsters out kicking a ball in the fields, jackets down for goal posts, a big mix of ages in equally balanced sides. That was where the learning came from in the times before TV and computers. Goals and byes, three and in were common place depending on numbers and as others arrived sides were picked and a full scale game would ensue, lasting well over the ninety minutes. The youngest learned the hard way playing against the big lads and if and when they were knocked over they would get up quickly to prove they could take it and weren't Sissies. There was schools football, boys brigade football Sunday school football Street football and any other football they could invent. That was where the trade was learned before being found by junior clubs then welfare clubs those who shone eventually made the Highland league. Now it would appear that monied parents can buy their kids into coaching schools and training facilities regardless of abilities, whilst the less well of, many of them who have keen talented offspring don't really get a look in or cant get places because of lack of funds. Another factor imo is this attitude of competitiveness being discouraged and the mamby pamby 'its not the winning that counts it's the taking part.' pish! Its taking part and wanting to win that matters. Teachers, youth leaders etc should all be encouraging sport and winning. People gave up their time to help them along in life without payment so why shouldn't they do the same for this generation. Getting off my high horse now to give it a drink !! or rather share the one I'm going to have
  3. Excellent management and direction full marks to the Board of Directors. Take note Celtic we don't have to buy our place in the league we earn it. ICT leads and leads by example. True winners!!
  4. Come on you exiles, these big crowds? can't you organise some charter flights to fill the seats at TS? Just think they would be able to watch some real football
  5. It is a great shame but understandable that we cannot coax Craig Gordon on to our books, Scotland's greatest ever keeper would be a wonderful asset both in coaching and when fit enough as a back up or when full fitness comes our number1. This multi talented fellow through his media involvement and other interests may not, until fully fit, be looking for impossible (ICT related) money and could do so much for our Club, Even on a short contract with as many get out clauses as he wanted, the kudos he would bring to the Club would be enormous. Well we can all dream but never the less I'm sure we will find a very suitable replacement for Reguero before the season starts. Ryan in the meantime in the close season can get himself back to full fitness and hopefully show the alertness of old that he lacked this 2012/13 season and that problem will be solved. Whatever! it looks like exciting times ahead and I eagerly await news of these other probable signings.
  6. Aye sounds like a bonnie day oot.
  7. Ideal for the singing section then.

  9. THE MIND BOGGLES
  10. Scotty has nailed it, This lad has proven potential , he has now joined the Club with the ' know how ' to get the best out of a player. Once again I ask for patience, don't go condemning or lauding him above the norm until he has had good opportunity to take in the teachings of the Masters. Time will tell, for now just encourage and support him, after all he is an ICT player.
  11. July 16th. Brora I might just make that one, I have pencilled it in.
  12. Well there's always one at least who thinks differently, I always wanted an Inverness team playing in the major leagues of Scotland even as a young lad of thirteen, I was a strong Caley supporter/fan but I wanted to see at least a Highland team going South to put the big clubs in the shade. When I was pedalling my message bike on a Saturday afternoon unable to get to the matches my mind was always on whatever match Caley were playing so many an egg got broken and I would shamefacedly knock on a wifies door and apologise for a non existant lorry running me into the pavement kerb and ruining her eggs. A story that often got me the sympathy vote and a bigger tip. Then I would make my way towards Telford Street lay my bike against the fence ,climb onto the bar of the bike and get a five minute view of the proceedings before going back to an irate boss for taking so long.. Then would come the big matches in the qualified rounds of the Scottish cup, Caley would get some good draws and that's when I thought if only we pooled the three Inverness clubs we could beat that lot. The point I make is why oh why isn't Inverness football public happy with what has transpired and getting fully behind the ICT instead of bickering in a small minded way?
  13. Sari he's nae cumin back to spice things up, he could hae hit a bal tae the back o the net,
  14. Rubbish ! with all due respect we will need him for Europe
  15. plaid badly eh!
  16. Do we stand a good chance ? Yuppppp
  17. News like this is always welcome. I know I am seen as a happy clapper but I am also a realist and this sort of information proves the point. With a Team like ours and the mistakes made through lack of experience or/and understanding, supporters have got to show some leniency when things go haywire and have a bit more patience before slagging off manager and players. It is an exciting thought just what ICT is capable of achieving. I truly believe that this coming season, once things gel, We will become 'The Team' all the others fear most. ( That includes Celtic with all it's money and resources ) 2013 / 2014 Here we come!
  18. The core is strengthening up, glad he's put our minds at rest and a great deal for team and player.

I almost totally agree with the above post IHE. Times this season where we appeared to have learned from mistakes, spot on, a little leniency here though that can be put down to a number of factors but imo a lot of it is inexperience and the panic derived from that. The core situation is correct and that all comes down to money, as does the players advertising themselves for moving on and you are perfectly right that has enormous impact on a side. It is unbalancing and upsetting though something ICT and supporters have to learn to live with If only ( I know the most stupid two words ) the team had stuck together for another season, as Doran was trying to hint at earlier on, that team would have been capable of anything. It was not to be. Now we have a very much better starter pack for the new season which will give T & M more reason to build up the team confidence factor so hopefully we will get a flyer again and find ourselves challenging at the top when he filters in his new finds. Personally my excitement and expectations are higher than ever for the new season. Having said that and knowing the budget limitations I will again settle for top six but it would not surprise me to see us at the top of the league at some stage of the season. Have a happy close season all
