Inverness CT -V- Aberdeen
Although Dons had more possession, we created the best chances- pity we didn't manage to convert them. Warren was a real 'captain courageous', MOM by a mile imo. Christie looked sharper than Vincent. Surely he should be starting? Makes my 11 point bid on the other thread a bit tough now, but not impossible!

Last nights singing
Although I normally wouldn't argue with the sentiment you expressed, I don't think it was necessary to put it like that on this thread. It comes across as a bit pompous and self righteous to me, and that you are just defending the comments you made earlier when you called folks cowards and hypocrites for not taking direct action against the inappropriate singing.

Ross County -V- Inverness C.T.
Yes, a pathetic post match interview by Adams. Not outwardly seething, but complaining as usual. Although I agree with him that the Shinnie incident was inside the box, Shinnie clearly kicked the ball on to the county player's head. It should not have been even a free kick, and certainly not a yellow. Referee was poor all night (some of it in our favour mind you!)

Ross County -V- Inverness C.T.
Well, I was glad to hear that final whistle. County had the better of the second half, but at last we manage to hold on for a win. Wish Billy had scored that one at the end as I had a 3-1 win for us in Gringo's prediction league! But it was good to see Billy nearly back to his best. Also Doran, my MoM. But for Brown, our victory would have been more emphatic. Not too many negatives for me tonight, except Raven getting skinned too easily leading to their goal (which was lucky to stand imo). And Brill's kicking as usual! But, all in all delighted with this hard fought win. Hope it spurs us on now for a good post split.

Definitely deserve to be in front. We've created several half chances and Mark Brown has had to be on good form. As good a goal as I've seen in a long time! And what a strike from Tansey just before. There have been a few tasty tackles and Tremarco could have walked for that one. The tippy tappy football has been mostly ok to be honest. I don't mind it if we keep it going forwards. Its the unnecessary back passes that drive me crazy. Anyway, lads, same again in the second half please and we'll be happy.

Billy Mckay - stick or twist?
Let's be honest here. Nobody made a serious bid for him in the January window after his great first half of the season. I don't think they will be queuing up for him in the summer after his dismal second half of the season. So I'd be inclined to extend his contract and hope he refinds his shooting boots next season.

If the standard is not too high, maybe you could persuade the England team to come up and play! They need the practise it seems.

Should Hughes be SACKED?
I see comparisons have featured prominently in many of the recent posts. Try this one. Since Rooney went to Aberdeen, he has scored 8 goals in 12 league and cup games (strike rate of 66% in goals per game). Plus he scored a penalty in the cup final shoot out. In the same period Mckay has scored 3 out of 15 (33%). Plus he missed a penalty in the shoot out. I'm not suggesting that this proves Rooney is a better striker than Mckay, but it is clear that Mckay's lack of form in the past few weeks/months, for whatever reason, coupled with some horrendous defensive and goalkeeping errors in many games (Celtic and both Dundee Utd spring to mind), are one reason why we have slipped down the league. Whereas Aberdeen have flourished in this period, aided by Rooney's good form. Maybe one could lay some of the blame for Mckay's poor form at Yogi's door for tinkering with team formation etc causing him lack of service. But not all of it. Mckay still gets chances (at least 3 good chances in last couple of games). He just misses more of them. I think he needed a rest some weeks ago. Nor can Yogi be expected to take all of the blame for the school boy defensive errors. That must be down to the players. Unless they are so demoralised since Yogi arrived that they have totally lost confidence in him and themselves. But I doubt that is the case. I just hope Yogi and his assistants can now prove their managerial skills, by lifting players and refuel their enthusiasm for the last few games of the season, so that we might at least achieve our highest points tally, even if Europe is out of the equation.

Inverness CT -V- St Mirren
With the way the other results went, we've missed a real opportunity to gain 3 points on 'Well and 2 on Aberdeen. But I suppose playing nearly half an hour with 10 men we are lucky it wasn't even worse.

Dundee Utd -V- Inverness C.T.
Just watched it on Alba without knowing the score. All in all, a bit of a wasted evening with no TV or computer before 10pm in case I accidentally heard/saw the score. Yet more gifted goals cost us again. How many is that now where ****-ups between a defender and Brill have just gifted the opposition a goal? I thought Brill was shaky all night and should have done better with the poor pass back from Meekings. He is not the keeper he was earlier in the season. His kicking especially is shocking. Personally, I think he needs a rest. We probably shaded possession in the match but seemed to be trying to walk the ball in instead of having a pop at goal. Until Polworth showed everyone how to do it. A real cracker. Mckay missed his only two good chances. The one near the end for the equaliser was especially bad. With Europe now out of the equation, time for Yogi to ring the changes. I feel Ross should start, and why not give the youngsters Christie and Polworth more match time to see what they can do. Foran should have been subbed long before he was tonight. I'd leave him out for a couple of games, along with Vincent and probably Watkins. Mckay too, now that he has lost the scoring knack looks very average. Maybe a rest will sharpen him up again.

Inverness CT -V- Partick Thistle
Well, thank goodness for that. Lets hope Mckay and the team don't ever suffer a goal famine like that again. There is nothing like a win to boost confidence levels so I hope it gives us the impetus for a strong last few games. Well done lads.

Should Hughes be SACKED?
I'm not the greatest fan of Hughes. Nor was I of Butcher at the start of his time with us. But I grew to tolerate him and appreciate that he and his team did some good things for ICT. So I'm prepared to give Hughes time to see if he can improve things after a poor start. I think at least until Xmas 2014 would be reasonable. If we're still struggling then I'd be in favour of a new man coming in for the second half of the 2014/15 season.

After the disappointment of defeat on Sunday, this news has fairly cheered me up a bit. Well done to all concerned.

Inverness CT -V- Aberdeen
Just watched the highlights. Didn't realise at the time, watching it live, how obvious a penalty that was when Foran was being held back. Unlucky, that might have made all the difference.

Inverness CT -V- Aberdeen
I went to the game expecting a drubbing to be honest after our performances in the previous couple of weeks. So I can understand Yogi setting the side up so negatively to some extent. But it wasn't pretty to watch. I think Aberdeen were there for the taking if we'd been a bit more creative. Doran had some good runs down the left when he came on spoiled only by his final cross. Unsurprisingly our best players were at the back with Meekings and Devine superb. When are we going to get the message that Mckay is not a penalty taker? But a good day out all the same. Lost a lot of drinking time queueing to get into the London Road Tavern! Oh, by the way, I thought our flag was ok, but completely outshone by Aberdeen's magnificent display at the start. That must have taken some organising!

I agree with izzy as I leave on stage 1 of my journey, the shortish drive to Heathrow. Good luck to all the team, officials and supporters. See some of you in London Road Tavern in a few hours time.

Christie and Evans on for last 12 mins or so. It would be great if one of them could make a name for himself with a late winner!
