  1. I can't believe we have stooped so low to boo a player who has been with us loyally for all of his football career. The abuse of his family was well out of order, some people need to take a good look at themselves Would this have happened and would this discussion be taking place if Polly had scored that penalty? I tell you he's probably feeling a lot worse about it that any of you are.
  2. Would not be unhappy if it was Egli Kaja even if he was on loan.
  3. That's how Terry and Mo went about it, you can't be sentimental in football management especially with a small club like ours who can't afford to carry any passengers. They made some hard and at the time unpopular decisions over players including our aging legends, but in the long run they were correct. Then there was also players like Adam Rooney, Danny Williams and Andrew Shinnie who decided that their future lay elsewhere months before the end of their contracts and they were allowed to move on, there was no point in holding them back because they didn't want to play for the club any more, we want players who want to be here. Richie's comments about rotten apples and how he couldn't be rid of them just looked like a show of weakness, it was sad to see a once great player and a very good captain reduced to that kind of comment just moments after we were confirmed as relegated. If players don't want to be at the club while the season is in progress then they should be shown the door regardless, they are just taking someone else's place and wages who might want to.
  4. Oh we can speculate all we want and we can also not buy season tickets nor spend our hard earned at the gate either if we the supporters are not taken seriously by the board. Supporters just won't go to games next season if there is no change, has to be seen to be some movement forward.
  5. I supported 'the golden one' Richie Foran for as long as I could stand this rotten season always with hope and a cheery smile in the belief that he could turn it around. The 3-0 nil slapping by Hamilton was the last straw, that was it for me, now I just want to murder puppies and burn churches. I'm going for a left field appointment and guess it won't be any of the usual suspects that are being bandied about just now.
  6. The only two players still with us that have improved over the last two years are Polworth and Tremarco. Those are two we need to hold onto.
  7. Its a lot of what ifs, like what if the two St Johnstone players hadn't started kicking lumps out of each other vs Accies? Its all irrelevant now anyway. Yes! What's red, white and blue, won 54 titles and is dead? Being serious this happened not that long ago when Hearts won the Scottish Cup in season 2011/12 and then two seasons later were relegated. Hearts bounced back first time of asking, lets hope we can do exactly the same.
  8. As someone said before its going to be down to finance rather than choice on who we can keep. So all our loan players will go back to their clubs so they can be counted out. Billy McKay is out of contract at Wigan, there is little chance we could sign him with the wages we would offer new players. Fisher and Ebbe will be looking for new clubs, Boden has one more year left but has failed to impact at all, he will likely be released. Fisher has scored a few goals for us in recent weeks but I'm taking a guess he was one of the rotten apples Foran was talking about so he will be gone. Anier is also unlikely to remain. Our midfield will be broken up I've heard about Polworth having an attitude problem so he could be a shock release. Draper could be too expensive to keep. Tansey is on his way to Aberdeen. King is Tannadice bound. Is it worth holding on to Aaron Doran who has now spent almost an entire second season out injured? he is contracted until the end of next season and would be a real asset if he can get himself fit again. The question would be is he the same player after spending so long out?. Mulraney has not been consistent enough and I've not been impressed so far. He is contracted until the end of next season he could stay but is he one of the problem players and is he good enough, I don't think so. Vigurs will stay, I'd keep him despite his performances in the first half of the season. I don't know about Jason Brown. Warren, Tremarco and Raven are staying unless they decide otherwise. Brad McKay has one more year, I think he will stay. As for the other defenders the ones who are out of contract Horner could be useful in different positions, but does he want to only be at the club to provide cover for others? Laing appears to have made himself a regular in the absence of Josh Meekings could stay if Meekings moves on. And what about our keepers? Fon Williams to move on to protect his place on the Wales bench? Against popular opinion I would prefer to keep him and if Ryan Esson retires promote Cammy McKay to 2nd. However its probably likely we will be looking to replace all three. That's quite a clear out and our Championship team could be barely recognisable from this season with only Warren, Laing, Tremarco, Brad McKay, Raven, Vigurs and Doran remaining.
  9. The ref wasn't sure what had happened but the linesman on the Main Stand side saw it and spoke to the ref via ear piece. I didn't see a flag go up from where I was sitting but the commentators on BBC Scotland had said the linesman had seen it straight away, this was confirmed when during the highlights on tv we see the ref glance towards the standside official and his manner after looked like he was listening to the official as he walked over to the goal mouth. Its neither here nor there the way Silva reacted, the result would have still been a straight red anyway for the Hearts player.
  10. Cliched comment, I thought some of our players put in a lot of work Polworth, Mutombo, Williams and Christie for example. We are not short in guts or leadership, but we could do with a bit more ability, but that's not the fault of the players that played today. If we had won and played exactly the same way, you wouldn't have said that. There was a lot of provoking and gamesmanship from certain Hamilton players towards our players, jersey pulling, play acting, chasing the ref trying to get our players booked, that McKinnon targeted Ryan Christie throughout the game. I don't think they were the better team over the 90, they just happened to put the ball in the net twice. Dirty dirty team, who can't win games with the talented players they have. Not exactly a team to admire. I agree about Ferguson, if we were winning Yogi would probably happily give him 10 or 15 minutes, but if we are chasing the game like we have had to do in all but the St. Johnstone game its better we use the more experienced players. He will get his chance. I have no complaints about Fon Williams, he looks like the one signing this summer that has worked out straight away.
  11. I thought we played quite well in the 1st half and just lacked that goal or two, second half was a bit of a non event and Hamilton did what they could to break up any momentum. We ran out of ideas near the end, the 2nd goal for Accies was us being hit on the break. Frustrating and I think Yogi's patience has ran out as well as it did with many of the supporters near the end. Expect changes against Dundee, certainly this can't continue. Maybe Wedderburn at center back and Draper restored to the midfield?.
  12. Its little consolation given how easily out classed we were yesterday, but we never stopped chasing lost causes, its a good habit and brought us two goals we probably deserved for that effort. This looks like we are going to have a hard season where the players are going to dig deep and given the attitude of the players during the Celtic game the positive mentality is there and if it continues that's going to be an advantage.

Some of the Torquay fans liked him, fast, good work rate and can play either as a winger or as a wing back. http://www.torquayfans.com/forum/search.php?keywords=toby+ajala&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=all&sr=posts&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search http://www.afcwimbledon.co.uk/news/article/ajala-interview-for-os-576133.aspx
  14. I doubt either Motherwell or St. Johnstone would play like they did against us throughout the whole campaign, if you look at it this way then similarly minded Partick fans must be wondering how on earth we managed to finish 3rd last year based on we were the worst team they played during last seasons campaign. You could say both teams St. Johnstone and Motherwell were poor when they played us, but you can't say how good or bad a team really is based on just one game you saw, especially this early in the season when teams are still finding their feet. And we are only 3 games into the domestic season, not 5. 1 goal in 5 not 3 to exaggerate your point I suspect. Some folks have no patience. So we consider European and Domestic seasons to be separate? Even if we do, 1 goal in 3 games is hardly stellar. I guess when Yogi said he was hoping for double figures, he meant the team as a whole. Well you don't win a point in the league for drawing with Astra do we now?. No 1 goal in 3 games isn't ideal either but we are only three games into the league and other teams are also struggling to score goals as well. There just needs to be a bit of patience and we have had a lot of disruption to the team with injuries. We still have a decent side and once these players come back it will get better and we can start climbing the table. Didn't win any points in those Scottish Cup games we won last season, but I'm still glad we won them. All these players can come back, but none of them is the regular goal scorer we need. It would be nice to have someone who can go on a bit a goalscoring spree, but first of all we need to create the opportunities which we aren't creating enough, this might just be down to the type or blend of team we currently have rather than on individuals, not much can be done about that though Vigurs has brought a bit more adventure when we go forward. But our goals should also be coming from others as well and we had a good spread of goals around the 1st team last season, almost everyone chipping in. But it must be hard for Lopez getting all this stick right at the start of his time here, I would have a little more patience with him. I think our problem does lie with our midfield and the way we play far far too cautious at times, but then it does work for us but maybe not with the way we are currently set up, so once we get players back we will see. Couldn't agree less. The midfield is bereft of ideas for the final ball because there is no movement in front of them! The role of a lone striker is to: (a) present a target to be hit, either for knock-downs or down the channels (b) provide a distraction for the defence to make a hole for the ball-carrying midfielder or another to charge into Lopez performs neither of these roles and the positions he takes up actually adds to the cluttrer in midfield. So (and this happened several times last night), when Christie gets a yard of space and lifts his head, there's no option ahead of him, so he ends up having to play it square. Compare this to Vigurs' ball to Mutombo in the last few minutes - he could play it because Mutombo called for it and made the run off the shoulder of the last defender (with the pace to get there first). Somebody mentioned this after the St J game, but I definitely felt it last night: after the first few minutes, the players seemed to sub-conciously avoid passing to Lopez. Whether that was because he was never in space or whether it was because they feared he would undo all their hard work is impossible to tell. For me, Lopez is a million miles form what we need and persevering with him would be a massive mistake. I agree about Lopez in as far as how he does seem very static (and this is not what we are used to), but there are other targets for the midfield to find as you mention Mutombo who was a constant moving target for our midfield to find or even Christie but all to often when those players were in good positions the midfield was to slow and cautious to attempt to find them instead preferred to pass the ball back the way. Lopez saw plenty of the ball last night but in nearly every head to head with an opposition player he came of second best even, but you can't blame him entirely for our lack of goals when other players are not either getting up or looking to find send that pass or cross to worry the opposition. Another player you mention Vigurs didn't have this cautious approach drilled into him and so bucked the trend by looking to get the ball forward at every opportunity. Something I noticed about both our home games was the complete lack of crosses in to the box or our wide players or anyone else attempting to get past the full back to get behind and swing a cross in. In an ideal situation Lopez would not be a regular until he got himself near match fitness and his head in the right place, but this lack of options up front is something that should have been delt last season and there should have been a striker learning the ropes training with the 1st team with the occasional appearance until our main choice departs freeing up the striker position, like a conveyor belt. Some of our most prolific goalscorers took a year before getting an opportunity McKay, Rooney and Wyness for example. In my opinion Lopez has been thrown in far to early, but until we get our injured back or one of Yogi's loan signings we are just going put up with this situation. Jeez, you'd think we are 3 months into the season not 3 matches.
  15. But imagine if he scores a brace against Celtic on Saturday and we win........minds blown everywhere.

  18. Its comparative and there is little between most of the teams. If the teams we have played are rotten then this goes for the rest as well, including us. When did we play the other 2 league games, the league table shows 3 games played? Last two Saturdays. Motherwell would appear to be poor, and I was at the St Johnstone game and they were pretty rank. There may be little between the teams, but the fact remains that we have been unable to beat anyone so far this season, which does not bode well. I doubt either Motherwell or St. Johnstone would play like they did against us throughout the whole campaign, if you look at it this way then similarly minded Partick fans must be wondering how on earth we managed to finish 3rd last year based on we were the worst team they played during last seasons campaign. 20. I think for us this had a lot to do with Vigurs and Partick had someone to deal with that was not as predictable and outside their game plan. Horner played well but Vigurs showed a lot more variation in his play and what can be done, that's probably also why Partick stopped playing the ball on the deck in the last 10 minutes in their last third. I thought our central midfield was too packed at times and we really could do with someone more effective linking up between the likes of Tansey and Polworth with who ever is up front, I think we need someone also to pull defenders away from Christie and I agree stretch the play out with more adventurous passing. Its possible Vigurs might have this role against Celtic. With two attacking midfielders on either side it could a good ploy with what we have just now, I don't see Mutombo as effective on the left in that position and I would drop Lopez to the bench for the Celtic game and have Andrea up front just to see if he can be more effective at pulling defenders about and opening up space for others than Lopez managed.
  21. To be fair Christie was very closely marked throughout the game, understandable as the opposition see him as the main only threat, hopefully he will get more space against Celtic. Very impressive again from out makeshift back four or was it three with Williams playing more as a midfielder than a full back, Devine was outstanding at the back and could be hard to shift when Warren recovers. Good shift from Vigurs, he looks like a player that can create and cause defenders concern. Nice free kick as well, unlucky not to score. Both teams equally matched and both played the ball on the deck for most of the game, funny thing was that last 5-10 minutes both teams threw away this tactic and went with a more direct approach with a lot of high balls lobbed back and fore. All that space on the left and it took almost 80 minutes before Partick appeared to notice this and start putting Williams under pressure?? Both Mutombo and Lopez were ineffective, Mutombo was predictable and easily contained despite all his energy. Lopez doesn't look confident and just stopped far often instead of getting his head down and trying harder. Easy to blame, but again we are too slow to get into a position to provide them with opportunities. Not totally unhappy with the performance much improved from the Motherwell game, disappointed we are still struggling to create chances that could lead to goals and I still think that final ball into the penalty box is poor, at least until Vigurs came on.
  22. Sorry, it should have gone under rumours, didn't see the Ryan Christie thread. This is the source I picked that story up from - http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/08/11/swansea-burnley-fulham-tracking-christie/
  23. Oh dear, looks like Christie could be away before the close of the transfer window. Swansea City, Fulham and Burnley are reported to be interested in him and going by past form we will probably play hard ball since Ryan is vital for this season's campaign, however considering he only has a year left on his contract a valuation of I've read £600,000 might be hard to pass over considering our current financial situation.
  24. Did someone convince JC that Rangers would definitely be in the Premiership this season?. LOL There I said it.....the R word...the elephant in the room that JC has avoided with his verge of tears rant at the diddy clubs for being just.....diddy clubs. Except some of these diddies have given Celtic a hard time in games and Celtic have only just scraped wins on a number of occasions and Celtic have suffered the odd defeat from time to time from clubs with only 10% of their finances and resources. Deila contradicting Collins by bringing three so called not so clever players from Dundee Utd which benefited Celtic and sunk any competitive competition from Dundee Utd last season and this season. Or maybe Celtic themselves are not a strong as they were in the past, no one has asked that?. Deflect blame for their own diddyness in Europe on the opposition in the national league?. Tom English on BBC raising some flaws in JC' s views http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33851626 JC is stating the bloody obvious but he didn't come across well and its nothing different from delusional frothing at the mouth from Celtic fans on Kerrydale Street forum on the subject and why no one wants them in the English Leagues either. I thought Yogi's reply was diplomatic, predictable and an attempt to play JC's comments down and we've heard it all before from the likes of John Collins anyway. In any case I don't mind the Caley Jags handing out more humiliation to Celtic before or after they play in the Champions League, I don't suppose anyone else on here doesn't either?.
