  1. I have vague recollections of that game, Leicester City won 4-0 and I remember it being played in sunshine, so maybe the match had been cancelled and then rescheduled for later in the year. I have my own copy of this matchday programme somewhere. That was a Leicester team that had internationals and a few well known names of the time, Goalkeeper Mark Wallington, John O'Neil (N Ire International), Paul Ramsey (N. Ire International) who later in his career played for St. Johnstone, not sure if he was in the team that played Caley in the Scottish Cup 1992 though. Bobby Smith signed from Hibs, Alan Smith (prolific goalscorer, played a dozen games for England) I think he scored two of the goals against us. Gary Lineker of course, Steve Lynex a pacy winger who gave us a roasting and I think scored one, Aberdeen born midfielder Ian Wilson who played a handful of games for Scotland (later managed Peterhead) This fixture had something to do with Leicester City's midfielder Kevin MacDonald who born in Inverness played a few games for Caley in the mid seventies and was considered a very good prospect then. Imagine the clubs from the top two leagues in England searching the Highland League for future talent these days. You could be right about the highest profile player ever to have played at Telford Street.
  2. Draper made that error allowing Cummins to get in front of him to head that in. That was a really good cross because of its accuracy and there was a bit of a curve as it went in too far in front of Devine for him to put a head on it so it looked like our defence was caught admiring the beauty of that cross. Players were not switched on, but hey ho as long as it doesn't become a habit.
  3. I believe if he does play for us and gives 100% commitment on the pitch, he will get the folks from Inverness on his side.
  4. Our home strip looks ok, not a bad design but also nothing special. Away strip unspectacular and functional. Didn't take to last season's home strip right away but it grew on me as it became associated with a very successful season, now its a legendary strip, iconic, right up there with the strip the team wore that night at Celtic Park in February 2000.
  5. That was three seasons ago. Crossed my mind as well but from what I have heard from other fans is that he is not good enough anymore for the Premiership. He struggled to break into the Dundee team in the second half of last season after being released by Hibs in January, didn't exactly set the lucky white heather on fire at Easter Road either after two seasons there.
  6. Should this not be in the rumours section?. There has been nothing confirmed about any move for Vigurs other than internet gossip. Just like any other player if we are indeed interested we will have to compete for his signature with other clubs that might offer him more money including those in League 1 & 2 in England and do we know if any other club has shown interest?. He'd be a good signing for us if it became true, I don't think what has happened before will be an issue and I can see more positives than negative here.
  7. Our recent historical record vs the Saints down in Perth is not that great only two league wins for us in eleven games since 2010, so considering our current injury problems last Saturday was a very good result and maybe as good as it would have got performance wise under the circumstances. We have a point and something to build on now. Lets now look forward to the Partick game on Wednesday night.
  8. Aye, Wedderburn only played 10 minutes
  9. We never do well when we increase the red in our strip.
  10. Amazing day, never thought I would ever see us lift the Scottish Cup and after a very long season that bit extra from the players made the difference and what a great turnout from supporters. We have could filled our stadium twice over. We made history. .........what's next?.
  11. Yeah, that was me. Hoping we can get a few more in the remaining days and get into the G sections. The more the better and it would be such a lift for the players.
  12. Date depending I'm looking forward to an evening trip to New Broomfield.
  13. We played with plenty of width on Saturday.
  14. We should start with the same 11 and bring on the same 3 subs to liven things up later on Delighted with our strength in depth
  15. John Hughes has a sense of humour and no one notices. I enjoy the fact everyone writes us off, long may it continue.
  16. To early to say if teams are stronger or weaker than this time last season, but I'll have a go. Celtic are obviously weaker but realistically are still streets ahead of everyone, just don't let them know that. Aberdeen grew stronger thoughout the 2nd half of last season and if they hadn't had such an indifferent start to last season they would have been clear in second, so seems logical they are stronger. Motherwell I don't know, they seem to lose players every season and rebuild and are still challenging for those Euro places and finishing best of the rest. Dundee Utd are probably the same as last season, they will be hard to beat Inverness CT I would like to think we are stronger than last season simply because our young players have more experience now. St. Johnstone despite losing Stevie May have a lot about them including some talented young players coming through, I think they are on the rise. Ross County I think will be a more solid unit than last season once the new players settle in, but then again it could go horribly wrong having that player turnover every season. St. Mirren probably weaker but they always seem to do just enough to stay up Partick Thistle unknown, starting their potentially difficult 2nd Season Kilmarnock - weaker, doesn't seem to be much about them We were lucky last season to have such a great start mainly because our players were fitter and match sharp right from the off compared to the opposition, then they simply just caught up on us and there was the disruption in changing managers and adapting to a new style of play. I think its safe to say non of this will happen again at least this season and we should enjoy a period of stability. Good to see we are not relying entirely on Billy McKay for goals which will make a difference. I still think we are good enough for a top six, maybe on for fourth or fifth. But beating last seasons points tally would be a more realistic target to aim for, places in the league look after themselves.
  17. Good to see the sponsor's logo doesn't spoil the design. Reminds me of a couple of Carlisle Utd strips from years back
  18. Nice socks?? Tis' a good strip though
  19. The template is called Bremen, I customised it to those colours and its impressive. It does seem though each season the red is being reduced
  20. I never realised there was an identity crisis regarding the club and how it is perceived by our own fans on what other football fans think about the club. Never realised we were a joke club either considering what the club has achieved in its short history. We have earned respect from a lot of people involved in football and from supporters from other clubs. I been away from the site for a few months and what's changed?. Have the Dingle County supporters and the 'flat earthers' got folks this rattled over the club's identity? I wear the ICT colours with pride, f**k 'em.
  21. That must have been '84 pre Psychocandy when they were playing 15-20 minute sets usually drunk. It was likely the other band could have been the similarly sonic 'Meat Whiplash' both bands shared the drummer in the early days live before Bobby G stepped in to help out.
  22. Going down for this fixture finally, first time seeing Caley Jags at NDP. I must be one of the few that actually like this ground, though I've never sat in the stand behind the goal if this is where we will be seated.
  23. The last home kit was a good one but despite being a former Caley fan I would go down the identity route with more red and go for the blue/red stripes which is unique currently in Scottish football. This is the new Ado Den Haag home kit, it would be a cracking kit for us if using in that template the green was swapped for blue and the yellow swapped for red with both white and black used in the fine detail.

    Danny Williams

This continuation of playing more than two players out of their usual position is something we have done for years due to our small squad and tends also to coincide with a downturn in form. Do we not have competition for each position in the starting eleven, surely this was what our previous management team had dealt with during the summer? Danny Williams has been a decent signing, but looks more effective and comfortable out wide.
